It's been a while since I placed a PC game.
Last one was Deux Ex Mankind Divided and Hitman (2016).
Neither of these game are ancient yet and they played just fine with only 8gb of system memory.
Do I need 16gb now?
I'm currently running 8gb (2x4gb) in an Asus P8Z68-v Pro motherboard and i5-2500K currently running at 4.7 Ghz.
I'd like to get 16gb total but I'm afraid I'll lose my overclock.
I'm thinking that 2x8gb is best for overclocking purposes if I want 16gb total.
What memory should I get and what...
I have little over one week to decide if I want to upgrade for free.
I've been putting this off because Windows 7 Pro is working just fine for me right now. No problems at all.
You know the saying, "If it aint broke ..."
Well the only reason I would even consider upgrading is because of DX12...
I'm thinking about getting one those ultra wide screen monitors with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Some of these monitors have a resolution of 3440x1440.
I'll be using this for both gaming and work.
My only concern is that I don't think my video card is powerful enough to play games at 3440x1440.
I'm...
I got that "Get Windows 10" icon sitting in my system tray.
Using Windows 7 Professional currently.
I have no issues at all with Win 7 Pro and everything is working just fine.
I'm scared to take the dive. :bag:
My worst fear is that I'll attempt an upgrade and then get a BSOD and can't go...
Currently using Windows 7 Pro on a desktop machine.
I use it for gaming, working, and other general use things (browsing, email, videos, etc)
I have no problems with it at all.
It meets all my current needs.
I don't have a touch screen, just a normal monitor.
I'm a big believer in "If...

I'll have to find my old Atari 2600 games.
OMG, I could be sitting on a fortune !!
I currently have an XBox 360 controller and it works.
Is the XBox One controller much better ?
Yes, I can order it from Amazon and return it if I don't like it but I just wanted to get some opinions.
How do you target enemies on platforms above you in Dragon Age Inquisition using tactical view.
It seems that the tac view has to have some "walkable" route to a platform above you or else you can't manually target the enemy which is idiotic.
May be I'm missing something but it's something...
I'm trying to like it but it's annoying me.
One fight after another and then I die and my killer gets promoted and is now even harder to kill.
I just don't like the game system. I prefer a simply save/load system instead of this "Nemesis" system which I absolutely loathe.

Less than 2 days left on the auction.
Current high bid is only $142.50.
Don't miss it !
And what was the first video game you played that utilized the video card?
Mine was a 3DFX Voodoo card.
Fist game I played that used it was the Glide version of Mechwarrior 2 which I thought was an awesome game at the time.
First time overclocking this card.
I have a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming.
How that's for my first attempt at overclocking this card?
Seems stable and quiet enough with those settings.
The new one, not the old one.
It's seems OK so far. Graphics seems a little out dated.
Trying to get used to the combat system.
I see they still got the fortune cookies in the game - LOL :D (no racist)
I kept on getting BSOD, A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor, blah, blah, blah.
My idle temps were over 40C.
So I decided to do my annual dusting and pulled out massive dust bunnies.
Idle temps are now 33C and all is well :D
I've always used a separate sound card. To me they sound better with headphones and supposedly they use less of the CPU than onboard audio.
I'm sure things have a changed a lot and perhaps you don't even need a sound card now.
I'll be moving to bigger SSD (128gb to 256gb) soon.
What's the best way to clone the drive ?
I'm using Windows 7 professional.
Basic requirements:
* Reliably cloning the disk while also making the partition larger (128gb to 256gb)
* Is easy to use
* Preferably free
What software...
I'll be getting a GTX 680 soon.
I currently have a GTX 570 which plays all my games perfectly at 1920x1080 (single monitor).
What games will stress a GTX 680.
i5-2500K @ 4.8Ghz with 8gb system memory in case that makes a diff.
I'm not interested in SLI/Crossfire.
If you had to choose a faster single card, what would you pick?
Or should I wait for the next gen of nVidia GPUs.
BTW, my single 570 GTX plays everything just fine currently.
I started playing Rage recently and I noticed that the textures all seem a little fuzzy.
I'm not that old yet !!!
I tried the 8K texture tweak but the textures are still fuzzy.
Is there anything I can do to sharpen them ?
I recently bought a new monitor.
New monitor resolution: 1920x1080
Old monitor resolution: 1680x1050
I did notice a drop in performance playing at the higher resolution.
I calculate that my new monitor has roughly 17% more pixels. (yes I did the math)
Would that mean that I would...
I already have one standard evga 570 GTX but I'm thinking of getting another to use in SLI mode.
The problem is that my PSU is only rated for 650W.
My PSU is a V2 Corsair TX650.

My CPU is a i5-2500K running at 4.8ghz
I'm...
DirectX 9 was first released in 2002, however it's now almost 2012 and games are still made for it and in some cases only for DX9 (Skyrim and perhaps others)
In other cases, games are made for both DX9 and DX11 but run poorly in DX11.
I would have expected ALL games by now to be DX10+...
