I had the following monitors:
14" crt unknown brand
15" crt unknown brand
17" iiyama
19" acer tft (25ms pva)
22" iiyama crt
I wanted the 22" Iiyama because it only costs 150 euros and the resolution was like crazy. Plus you don't have ghosting, you don't have lag, you have super sharp...
ROFLMAO!!!
I have the 2407 (see my review in the 2407 topic) and didnt notice any banding at all. But i aint looking for it either.
The only things that changes during the first day i had it and now after a week is that the black levels aren't that black anymore, but i have the windows full...
There's a topic for this.. You should of posted the "review" over there because it's easier for people to read that whole topic then search for all topics that people made with their own review ;)
I don't like the Acer because of the design.
The Dell has pretty good stuff but also some little bad stuff... see my review in the Dell 2407fpw topic for more information ;)
If i had the choice again i'd definitly go for the Dell. :)
Me neither, got the 2407 and just some small thing to complain but nothing serious. See the 2407 thread on this forum for my very huge review :P
But, i'd go for the 2407 ofcourse. Why would you buy a smaller one when you have the money. For me, the 2407 is good in size, 20" would be to small...
Dell 2407FPW (flat panel wide) review by Sluuut
Test material:
Experiences with other monitors: Unknown brand 15 "CRT, Iiyama 17" CRT, Iiyama 19 "CRT, 22" CRT, 19 "MVA, 19" Iiyama, 14 "notebook, 15.4" notebook. (Also i am using a AOC 17" at work but that doesnt really count because a 14"...
It's tru, the new engine runs on DX10 (as well as 9 ofcourse, otherwise it won't sell enough) but they are still running/building it on DX9 cards, and emulate the DX10 stuff.
And i'd say, go for 2x x1900xt(x) in crossfire or one 7950gt2.
Nope, thats the funny thing, you have to buy a monitor for it :P
I think the main thing is gaming & surfing..
Just a little movies/photoshop, not to much.
If i had the money for it, i would buy two ofcourse.. But i want at least 24" because of the nice resolution, 1920x1200.. I dont want some 1650x1050 20" thing.. Also because the monitors will be lower in dimensions then my 2x19" i got at the time.
I'd rather not have Input lag and banding...
Depends on what you are using your computer for..
I don't think DX10 games will like 2560x1200. :P
But if you build websites, surfe/browse/make music/photoshop, everything but games, i'll go for the 30".
If you play games, go for the 24" and maybe buy another 24" later on!
Umm.. I'll never play a game on dualscreen. Furthermore there are like 1 games that support that crap.
Yeah, i did that :)
I play some counterstrike source and it supports it like crazy, because the FOV gets higher. So you can see more around you.
But i'm still not convinced witch one i...
This is exactly why i choose for an S-IPS screen and 23" instead of 24"..
Very nice review/proof !
I wish there were more like this. And i dont understand why reviewers on like for instance Toms Hardware Guide don't even notice this !!
This is it right now:
1x Asus laptop with 15.4" widescreen 1200x800
1x Iiyama Prolite E481S-S 25ms IPS 19" 1280x1024
1x Acer AL922 25ms PVA 19" 1280x1024
And this is whats it's gonna be probably:
1x Asus laptop (i'll keep that :D)
1x 24" ViewSonic widescreen 1900x1200
(or a little...
Hi,
I was wondering what you guys would buy in case you had the money, for instance for:
2x20" monitors, or 1x 24".
I think Widescreen has a future, because there are more and more avaible and people like to buy it. Also Vista will play into this. But then again, dualscreen would be...
Good bus also bad review.
No, Seriously, i cannot agree with all your 10/10's and 9/10's.
How can you rate a TN-film panel with a 10 out of 10 when there are much better panels out there. For instance, you give a 10 out of 10 for watching movies, while this is a 4:3 screen. Hello...
Hi,
I've been reading this whole thread, and some others. It took some days, but i want to know everything there is to know before i lose 1400 euro's on some crap monitor.
I just want to add some stuff;
- There's a post in this thread from a user who does not like the Sony monitor...
Hi,
I was wondering if there is any chance that there is such a big difference in LCD panels with same brand/type nr... Like when a reviewer is very satisfied with one for instance Sony p243b screen, is there a possibility that when they review is again with another serial number, it will get...
"will not run period" < can be anything.. closes down with an error, does run but gives no screen, reboots, boots u back to windows without an error..... Always specify what the exact error is ;)
Have you tried re-installing the game?
I think you mean a vx2025wm instead of a vx2925wm?
Anyway, i guess you could give ViewSonic a call, i think they will bring a refurbished/new one to your place without any dead pixels.
Edit: Sdk, ViewSonic has a zero dead pixel warranty for all the monitors they sell. Not including...
No, D-SUB or DVI should be hot plugable sp you can put it in or out your computer whenever you want also if the screen and the computer have the power cable in it. I think it's just bad luck.
Appearently it's a bug in the monitor or driver, i read about it on another forum. D-SUB should work fine, but when you switch to DVI is does not work, right?
Well here is what you have to do:
First, make sure the monitor is connected through D-SUB and you have a screen. Then connect the...
That's why i bumped to the ViewSonic VP231WB yesterday. I saw this was the only 23" with S-IPS widescreen that is prepared for HDCP. I would like to keep this new bought monitor for some years so i might as well consider the future..
According to Toms Hardware (which i trust very much) it...
Hmm not a good story about the Apple screen :P
In any case, i am 100% sure i do not want an overdrive PVA screen. I do not want input lag :P
If the Sony is the same panel, is there a chance i will suck to? Honestly i don't care about the 16ms responsetime, because my 19" Iiyama has en IPS...
I think PVA is the best in contrast/brightness/colors but the differents are minimal, and IPS has almost or no input lag.. So i'd go with IPS.. (or S-IPS/AS-IPS).
I think they are sold out just because people never heard of input lag, and it's cheap..
But anyways, i'm gonna have a look if i can "borrow" the Apple Cinema Display 23 inch to test it out some days. If i am satisfied i will keep it, if not, i will probably order the Sony.
Thanx a lot for...
