Yes, it was indeed a problem with the cable box. According to the manual, I needed to set the HDMI audio to PCM. Problem solved!
Thanks for your help and time ambientz! :D
Still no luck. :/
My TV keeps displaying a message that says"An incompatible audio signal has been received. Check the output device settings"
Yes. I had my ps3 connected to my TV before and sound came out fine.
For some reason when I set it to "TV", audio from the receiver is disabled when I turn it off but I'm still not getting any sound from the TV--just video.
For the other thing, it's really weird because with my old HTIB the factory receiver allowed me to switch between sources without any...
I would definitely recommend Precision Acoustics' HD45 tower speakers. They sell them at Best Buy here in Canada but I'm not sure if they are available in the States. A friend of mine has a pair of those + center. Just amazing sounding speakers for the price. They are currently at $300/pair.
It works but for some reason there's no sound coming from the TV. My TV is a Sharp Aquos LC-65E77UM. I've tried messing around with the TV audio settings but nothing seems to work. Also sometimes when I switch between sources, I get a message that says "an incompatible audio signal has been...
Complete noob here so please bare with me! :o
How do I set up my audio receiver so that whenever I turn it off, the TV automatically takes over sound duties for each device:

You guys were right all along.

I just bought a new hard drive for my ps3 and im copying around 100gb worth of files onto it through ps3 media server,,,I was kinda worried because my download bandwidth limit is 100GB/month (Videotron---I live in...
Sorry for my complete noobness but does a ISP usually set a limit (depending on your plan) for network bandwidth like they usually do with download/upload bandwidth?
Thanks for the answer! :)
Does copying files from my laptop to the PS3 using PS3 Media Server will eat my internet bandwidth? Both my laptop and PS3 are connected wirelessly to the same router.
Thanks for answering.
Try kijiji.com. Better than craigslist IMO.
If you look around (and if you're lucky) you can find some good deals on there. Last week I was able to get my hands on a brand new (in box) 46 inch Samsung LCD LN46B530 for $600.
$500 is an OK good deal for a 3-year-old 46-incher but for about...
Hello, I'm a complete noob so please bare with me...
I'm looking to transfer large (8GB +) .mkv files onto my PS3 (FAT32) and after some research, it seems that the only way I can possibly achieve this is by COPYING the files through a media server (TVersity, PS3 Media Server).
Is there a...
Apparently, large files (4gb +) can be transferred/copied onto the PS3 through TVersity or PS3 Media Server. I'm not sure if it is straight up file copying or streaming, though. That's what I'm actually trying to find out.
Hello!
I was wondering if there was any way to convert an NTFS external drive back to FAT32 without actually reformatting the drive and losing all the data?
My hard drive was originally formatted to FAT32 but I had to convert it to NTFS so I could transfer a large file onto it. I then...

Hello
I have this laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A-200 series. I've had it for a year now (bought it used).
For the past two months, it has been abruptly shutting off on random occasions. The problem seems to get worse every week.
I'm wondering if this problem is related to my battery? I...
Well, I finally settled for the Western Digital My Passeport Elite 500GB~! It has a 5 year warranty and is just what I needed! Very small and compact!
Thanks to all who have replied! :)
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go download some porn now. :o
Thanks for replying everyone~! :)
The reason why I don't want to get a normal hard drive + case is because I will need to carry around a power connector too. There are some premade models out there like the Seagate FreeAgent that don't need to be powered up via an adapter and that's a plus...
Hello,
My laptop is running out of disk space and I'm thinking about getting an external drive to backup all my files. I was thinking about getting the Maxtor 500gb Onetouch4 Plus but some of the reviews (mostly bad) I found on the internet got me worried.
For those of you who have used...
Thanks for the info.
I forgot to say that my HTML form uses a PHP file to process the data, so does that make any difference in terms of security? The javascript is only used to handle errors and required fields that are left blank.
Really? I was told that HTML/javascript forms were VERY secure and not as easily hackable as a PHP form~! Would a PHP form be more secure and help me achieve what I'm asking for easily?
I'm not really sure what a public-facing website is, but the website I'm working on is not portal or blog...
The reason why I only want to use html/javascript is because the form is already finished. It's a pretty long form so I don't want to go to the trouble of re-writing the whole thing in a different language.
Thanks ALOT [H]exx!!!
The first script your provided works like a charm! The URL shows all the information submitted. But this is where I'm stuck. I can't seem to pull the query info with the code provided:

Are you sure the Kingston RAM model I posted will work on my Toshiba? I'm not worried about the module size limit as I'm certain a 2GB single module will work on each slot. What I'm worried about is that some modules seem to have been designed for specific...

I'm aware that you can't really do that with a standard dual monitor setup but is there a software or some kind of program that allows you to connect 2 keyboards/2 mouses to the same computer?
Thanks for replying!
