Isn't power limit is also sensing the temp as well? If that the case then the temp never reach the threshold (97°c), therefore the power limit wouldn't have kick in yet. Why people so concern with Furmark? I've tested my OCed card with Furmark and passed it a flying color but it crashed...

    pny 580

Let's put this way; we're all know a single rad of that size can dissipate up to 200W or more of heat. An overclocked 95w TDP CPU can only put out the maximum of 150w of heat. I estimate the GPU outputs around another 100+W because the MEM & VRMS are cooled by heatsink and fan therefore no...

    i7 2600k @ 4.42GHz and H70, too hot?

    1) make sure you install the pump on CPU or PWM fan header, not on chassis fan header 2) dissable fan Quiet feature in the BIOS 3) make sure the pump/block proper installed 4) fans orientation as intake yield better perform than as exhaust H70 likes high flow fans. Good Luck!

Wait for the new i7 920 D0 stepping?

According to the article, D0 stepping is just side step revision. It is not like B1 to G0 for Q6660 or C1 to E0 for Q9xxx, well time will tell I guess.

Wait for the new i7 920 D0 stepping?

Isn't the rumour said that Intel might tweaking the new stepping for less overclocking capility like they did to the late Q6600? Because i7 920 is hurting the sales of 940 & 965 at the moment due to it frantastic OC ability. Seriously, who want to run overclocked i7 over 4ghz on air cooler...

because a single 4870 1mb is capable to play any games with good frame rates at that resolution, of course you can turn everything on high but it won't a killer like the X2. 4870x2 Pros: eats every games at high setting, fast Cons: cost, min 24", heat, some games may not scale good with...

    XSPC 4870x2 Block + Apogee GTZ Install + Feser 480 B4 / After Temps

@ MrE, exactly. He didn't give the CPU the most cooled coolant, he's giving his CPU the warmed coolant instead. The coolant got heated from the X2 and pump. @ CaptainSoble, you may have better temp for the CPU if you reverse the flow order. The Cpu gets the first coolant come our from the...

    Random Reboots ASUS P5Q Pro

no, I don't think it's going to work, the 6pin plug is to power the cpu. So 4pin one is not enough juice to run today cpu. Maybe you can borrow a psu from your friend so you can determind if it's your PSU is the culprit.

    Thermochill pa120.3 questions.

I believe the distance between the fins to the screw holes is about lesst than 1/4", and then standard 120mm x 25mm fan is 1" thick. Therefore, you can use #6 - 1-1/4" screws with fan grill then you will be fine, no worry the punchure, the fan grill is about 1/16" thick. If you don't use fan...

    Swiftech MCR320 from FrozenCPU

Fittings are not included, old Swiftech rads used to have 3/8" NPT but G1/4" for all the new models now.
  18. D

How far can I take the Swiftech H20-120 compact kit?

this kit only good for CPU including overclocked CPU. It won't give you good temp with GPU added. If you want to add a GPU then go with 220 kit at least, even better, replace the 120.2 rad with 120.3 but you have to use T-line or add on a seperate res for this setup though. The intergated...

do the painting by yourself, even if you ask a body shop to do it for you. They're still going to charge you from than $150, I'm just guessing here. This is just a small job to them and it is not worth it to them to take on a small job like this, they have to charge you enough to make some...

    Waterblock for the 4870

I think MCR60 will fit if you don't care it is not FC. You have to wait few more weeks for a dedicated block, 48xx is just became available. It's to recent for block makers to come up a new design for it.
  23. D

Never satisfied: add a second 120.2 radiator?

ok, why don't you try to remount the block, see if you have a better temp? You can add the second 120.2 rad at the back of the exhaust fan (exterior) without using radbox, TJ09 back is pretty flat there. You may use the 120mm x 38mm fans to bring the rad a little further away from the case...

Never satisfied: add a second 120.2 radiator?

WC for the 1st time in my PC-A05b - Need Some Help!

MCP655 is very quite even at max speed, it has 5 adjustable speeds. within couple degrees better but with triple rad you have more head room to cool more than just a CPU, perhaps NB or a grfx card. no just make sure you get a Fuzion or Apogee GTX block. I personally don't like intergated...

Radiator Fan direction, Suck or blow, in or out?

well it all depends how you installed your rad, internal or external. The important is to draw a fresh cool air to cool the rad and you want to exhaust the hot air away from the case. If you do internal installation then you want to push the hot air out of the case, you don't want to pull the...

Bottom Line: Is watercooling quieter than air??

I'm not sure if your case is big enough to fit a 120.2 rad? It might fit a 120.1 (back exhaust fan), the next place is the bottom of the case. It's going to be a tight fit (you have to measure the clearance from the video card) but you will loose the feauture use of PCI slots. I think you...
  39. D

Bottom Line: Is watercooling quieter than air??

Of couse it is. You should pair a good Rad that designed to use with low RPM fans (about 800-1000 rpm). It's not only quieter but better cooling than air.
  40. D

wtf is wrong with my temps???

nothing wrong with your temp. It's normal for air cooling. Were you expecting around 30ish degree because you lapped the CPU and the cooler? :D Lapping CPU or cooler only gain 1-2 degrees, if you're looking for mid 20 degree then you should go for TEC cooling.
