I've been looking for a laptop for college, and I've always wanted to get a ThinkPad. My dad used to always bring his back from work and it was built rock solid and looked sleek but classy. However, I heard that since Lenovo took over IBM, the quality of Thinkpads have gone WAY done. I've seen a...
I've just started playing a few days ago and whenever I killed someone or completed a challenge something would pop up saying +5 or +10, etc. Today I'm joining servers and NONE of them say it, modded or not. I'm still getting XP though cause I can check it in the ranks and challenges, but does...
I see that there is an option to toggle crouch/prone or just regular crouch/prone so that when you lift the key you are no longer crouching. But why didn't they make an option like that for sprint? Everytime you sprint you keep going until you can't anymore unless you jump or press mouse1, and...
I just got l4d and ME off of steam, and I notice the same thing in both games. The graphics looks like it's operating out of a TV that has slightly bad signals, like little dots all over. Is it suppose to be that way?
K so my bro decided to install OOO on oblivion. Should I play through the vanilla version first? Because I just started a new game with this mod (since older games are complicated to load), and DAM it felt so much harder. I got owned in the arena pretty fast, while on the regular Oblivion, I got...
I got a Q9300, 4 gig ram w/ 64 bit vista, and Visiontek 4870. But I notice in a lot of open spots, TF2 runs in the mid 30s, sometimes even slower than Crysis at Very High. I run CoD4 at 100+ average FPS and same with Bioshock, but TF2 is just acting weird. Is it the source engine that causing this?
I saw a TigerDirectBlog video about overclocking using the Intel Desktop Control Center, which can overclock through windows very easily. I have a P45 mobo, so apparently it only works on X38/X48s. I was wondering if there are any other programs like this out there since I have never overclocked...
I usually game and do stuff on a 15.4 laptop screen. But I decided to go with a 22 inch monitor for my new rig, and holy crap it feels soooo big. I need to like turn my head to look at a lot of things lol. I can't even imagine a 30 inch. Will I eventually get used to this?
Stage6 has been down for a while now. That was my favorite site to check out game footages because of the great quality and short load time. Anyone know a place similar to that?
Does anyone know what's the best mid-towered case that's both quiet and can fit a 9800GX2? I was considering the P182 but I heard even with the 3 layers the fans are still uber loud.
I heard that Antec 900s, although a great case, have wire management issues and alot of them end up looking like crap.
I'm concerned about ordering my AVADirect system with the 900 case now. Do you guys think that they will do a good job on the wiring? I know it takes drilling to make the...
I just saw this being advertised on Dell's website when you click on the gaming laptops, it's still overpriced compared to some other laptops but it's still reasonable. But I was wondering, I heard before that it had cracking/heat issues, is it fixed now? Or is that the reason they're...
I'm just trying to decide which case to choose, and I was wondering which one of these would be the best choice for a non-OC pc.
Antec 900
NZXT Hush Black Mid-Tower Case
ThermalTake Shark VA7000
Thanks.
There are so many I dunno which one to choose. Can anyone recommend me a solid case that's agressive looking(IE not really conservative like alot of the LianLi cases but have stuff like LED lights) but also has good cable management/quiet? Thanks.
I was thinking of getting the Tagan Diablo...
I was wondering if I really need the 9800X2 for games like CoD4 at 1600x1050, and of course future upcoming games. It sounds so good but should I just get the G92 8800 GTS cause my resolution isn't that high?
I know like nothing about ram so I just have a general question. If 2 sets of ram were the same brand, 1 set is 2 gig 1066mhz and the other 4 gig 800mhz, which would be better for gaming? Thanks.
I just stumbled upon this website.
Leadcomp.com
They have like the exact configs as AVADirect, are they the same company or different? Cause basically all their stuff is about like $50 cheaper than AVA, but they look exactly the same. Anyone know what's up?
I was just wondering, if you're running vista 32 bit and you have 2 gigs of ram lets say running at 800 mhz, will you notice much difference in gaming if you had 4 gigs at 800 mhz? Is it worth the upgrade?
Also, which is better?
4 gig 800 mhz
or
2 gig 1066 mhz
I never really thought about this, but I always focus on what FPS I get when I play games on the computer. But say if I were to buy Xbox 360 or PS3 and get CoD4 and play it on a TV, what FPS would I get? I can't really imagine them getting the same performance as a PC because the PC is so much...
Hi all, I was wondering if I will be able to run CoD4 with the following specs at 1680 x 1050 flawlessly? (like a constant 60-70+ FPS locked)
Q6600 2.4 ghz
3 gig 800mhz ram
8800GT 512MB stock
Thanks.
Well I'm gonna be purchasing a prebuilt system that can be loaded with either XP or Vista. This will be a gaming computer pretty much so I was wondering which one I should get. I heard that Vista will drag down your performance, but there are also some games that aren't compatible with...
I don't know much about motherboards, but I was just wondering why alot of people say they don't "trust" nvidia motherboards a nd should go intel ones instead. Why is this?
Single 8800GTX vs. Dual 8800GT SLI vs. Single 8800GTS (512)
Which one of the above settings would be the fastest for gaming? Probably like 1400x900 resolutions, not too high. Thanks.
I came up with this configuration for a new gaming computer that I want to be able to play stuff like CoD4 on form Digital Storm.
Case: Digital Storm 650Si (Black Anodized Aluminum Finish)
Power Supply: 620W Corsair HX (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad...
I'm just doing some research on boutique builders and I stumbled upon Digital Storm. I looked at their site and they looked very organized with alot of options including overclocking, and the prices are also very nice. Their resellers rating is also pretty good. I was just wondering if anyone...
I've been checking reviews among the boutiques and I know before CyberpowerPC were kinda bad but now they have a higher 6 months review than Velocity Micro. Has anyone had any experience with them and know if they are good to buy from? Thanks.
