actually to tell you the truth. they both have nothing to do with modding it. if i still have them ill post the pics to prove it to you. but idle temp is just the ideal. it was around the same literally. full load for my q6600 on both coolers was around 52c. freaking no difference what so ever...

for cpu cooling...it all depends on the ambient, type of cpu, how good you lapped it, or pressure modifications. i had ASUS Silent Knight AL on Q6600 26c.. TRUE on Q6600 same thing on core temp... know what i mean?
yeah he borrowed it from somebody to test it. and of course is made in china. everything is LOL. /sarcastic, check behind your mobo, card, etc. is made from china. all mine does lol

i had that problem before. i did the same exact thing you did. the motherboard battery was weak at my part. so i bought a new one. started to turn on how a computer suppose to. so try this. it might help, it might not.
in my opinion, if they advertised it with it. about handling 1080, it supposingly should lol. my experience with VIA chipset.. like 2002 models on hp, couldnt even handle 17inch lcd screen. it was all fuzzy. /shrugs
