Thanks guys I remembered avsforum.com and started reading stuff on there and the guide they have really helps me get familiar with what is the new equipment used now for HD recording and playback etc.
So I have been out of the game for a while, aka I have been a poor college student and could not afford to buy new hardware, and I am thinking about building another HTPC. Last one I built had some unstable matx mobo, Athlon XP 1600+, 512 mb ram, hauppauge pvr 150, on board audio, 200 gb hd...
I like myHtpc and you can customize the button layout to however you want. I have read some really good tutorials on organizing your music for it and you can use winamp as your player. I wish the layout was a little more user friendly in terms of playlist and what not. Check out...
assuming the led is being powered by the positive post on the switch you could probably just ground it to the 12v black ground on the molex. I am guessing you just wired 12v through to the cc. This should work.
yeah that case looks like something the tech director we had back in high school could do. He made armor out of metal, basically just using a hammer and his hands. Quite an amazing skill to have.
I know you guys dont like doing other peoples homework, but um I want to try and help him out I am not great a circuits. Here is the problem:
In the section of circuit below, R1= 13.219 ohms, R2= 1.490 ohms, and the voltage difference Va-Vb= 4.900 V. The current i= 0.350 A. Find the current...
Santa brought me an aeron chair a few xmas ago. My mom is in interior design so she gets discounts on this stuff, but it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in at a computer.
Gl the interior sounds sexy, and if you pull it off right the mod sounds like a very cool idea. But to have to do it on a dell, well that blowz cause it would be much easier to pick up a beige, plain case without all the plastic and bullshit mounting shit inside.
You could just fork over the $8 or $10 and buy a bunch, you could either A. Resell them to people. Or B. Just have em for later, its only $10. Add it to the price of the computer :0
Linux should run on most anything. I litteraly scrapped together a linux box and it runs like a champ. I had parts sitting around my room. The trick is to not being impatient with it once it is installed, and work with it to get it fully working to its potential. Most people will help you...
i don't have a digi camera, but it does not seem to have any place for a battery and when I recieved it I was not given and sort of cable. It has a connection that looks similar to a header on a motherboard with two pins. The pins are longer though. Don't know if that is much help, it is...
I was given a exit sign from work and is illuminated by LED, and I am trying to figure out how to power it, 120v I am guessing, and requires i "believe", 2 watts. How would i do this? Circuit newbie.
Well I am now an addict. I had to go and blow $600 and build two HTPCS, one a backend server the other a frontend. I spent a week and a half getting Fedora Core 1 (linux) and mythtv up and running, but it was WELL worth it! My first system is a:
MSI K7T,
amd athlon 1ghz
512 mb ram
90gbs...
I am trying to build a htpc on a budget. I am trying to find a solid motherboard with spdif out onboard, AMD, and reputation. I have been out of the loop in terms of keeping up with hardware, especially motherboards, have not built a computer since christmas.
Its not the cable or the connector, I am assuming. I remember back a few years ago my friend had an AIW card and a slow ass computer the live tv didnt look so hot. He built a new rig and then presto looked like a regular tv. I doubt its your speed, I am assuming you are running something...
I made one out of plexi glass, that is pretty cheap. Pretty easy to do as well. I am not sure if the carboard would catch on fire. Is the cardboard sturdy enough to hold up more than one drive, or is it just one drive?
I used a dremel to cut it. I am saying the creases where the edges connect would it look better to use a corner brace type thing running all the way along the edges or to bondo them and make em smooth? This is a HTPC so I want it to look nice.
I am buidling my own case out of sheet metal and well I am not the best with cutting to the mm so I have rough edges. Basically I have a box everything but a top(desktop style case) and rough edges on each edge. Now what do you guys think is the best way to make them smooth. Bondo was my...
Does anyone know where I can find a array of buttons that is similar to a remote, the up, down, left, right arrows with a enter key in the center? I am building an HTPC that would have something like this mounted on the front. I have searched allelectronics.com and jameco.com any other ideas...
