I think the quickest way would be the EDB extract if the software allows it - look at OnTrack as I don't think the Stellar version does public folders.
Failing that just export from outlook and import in. I would suspect either way though permissions issues will need to be edited and pushed...
Check the log files in C:\Program Files\Small Business Server (I think).
There is a log for the console and I think there is also one for the wizard that may point you in the right place.
I agree it may be a loop back issue. Also check local DNS to see if it resolves the domain you are using...
Hi everyone,
I posted about this a couple of weeks ago but wanted to start a new thread to see keep it fresh. I also know this is slightly OS related but I figured as a network service this is probably the best place. So anyway, looking for some ideas.
The setup is two servers, one is 2008...
Mainly due to Gigabit ports. we only get 2 on the 1910 but we need some more for backups. even with this ping tests showed a max of 4ms and average of 1ms response times to the server.
The main issue is not so much an unresponsiveness. its more the mouse and cursor moving on its own resulting...
Correct, Access points and servers into the netgear (planning on swapping that for an HP 1810 I have spare) and then to the 1910-48 for end points.
Load is mostly office 2013 and internet. most demanding is an office plugin that connects to a hosted database for client info.
I cant see it being server specs.
Its 24 cores with 96GB Ram, memory is under 50%, cpu spike to 60 under heavy load and disk speeds are fine.
Its also not impacting all users at once. Some can be fine while others have the issues.
Hi everyone.
Thought this might do better here rather than the OS section being a network service.
Anyway. We have a Windows server 2012 running RDS Session based Desktops. Its being used as a terminal server so all users work from this system. around 30-40 users and spec wise everything fine...
Lets keep it simple.
Assume the networks are simple setup, no vlans etc, were just a router connecting to the internet with a number of layer 2 switches behind it usually with a server on the network. no subnets or clans just one big network.
On the head office we have a machine running Cacti...
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking into getting network monitoring set up for some sites. Each one is remote with a single IP address on the internet (all static) router and a couple of managed switches. No VPN's are setup and we cant set any up, just to make the challenge harder.
So heres the...
I would put a spam filter in the loop that can store mail if a server is offline.Usually I use a hosted one but internal as long as it can hold the mail would work too.
1 - change MX midweek to use spam filter. no mail is harmed since it either goes to server or spam filter. tell spam server...
Hey everyone,
Going through a fun phase of relearning the subjects I've forgotten with years of never needing it. Todays subject is VLAN's.
So I understand the idea of VLANS to keep networks separate and not allow broadcasting between each other and tagging and trunking and all that.
What I...
Thanks for the input, I will give it some thought. The main aim was to learn some IOS (refresh, not touched it in years) but at the price not sure how feasible that's going to be.
Thanks for the input though!
Hey everyone, decided its time to upgrade some of my networking gear an knowledge.
So I need to find a switch with the catch its going to hide behind a cabinet in my main living room and I don't want the other half moaning (more than usual!). Cisco is preferred as I need to go over it again and...
ShadowProtect and/or acronis.
Done. This will take a clone and allow it to restore to the new drives (acronis will allow you to go to smaller drives, shadowprotect is same size or bigger only) and to different hardware.
Just have the drivers on hand.
Its a backup system using tapes all along the sides. a robot arm moves used tapes around and into a case at the end of a day for someone to take home with them as an offsite backup of Google.
I had the pink cables in one of my last jobs, the boss (female) insisted on .
But I did some checks and found we got better throughput on the pink cables than any other!
Even the ones with go faster stripes couldn't keep up with them.
Think your missing the idea.
Its not for a full install its just for a home lab.
So I would have 2 virtual routers (lets say untangle) than are on the same ESXi server and connected to the same LAN these then have a VPN to talk to each other. Then I have 2 virtual servers behind these...
Heres one for you guys.
Im wanting to setup a "virtual sites" lab. I got my VMWare server running happily but willing to change to citrix if needed for this.
My plan is to have a few linux distro routers like untangle running as virtual machines with my branch office networks of...
WHy do you have the switches going to patch panels? I can understand the routers to keep cabling under control but not seeing the point point of the switches?
2.2GHz i7 Macbook pro with 16GB RAM and 512 vertex 4 sitting on my desk.
Couple of windows, a few small Linux etc and its solid.
Don't get me wrong if your running intensive things it slows down - but for a basic VM cluster demo It should work.
See thats my thoughts (ignoring the SP1 requirement) for light users with a touchscreen I could see it being great. but for a company who goes between multiple documents, spreadsheets. and other apps.
I'm convinced its going be a huge fail.
Hey everyone,
Looking for feedback on windows 8, but more focused on the business network side of things. Thats why I posted this here to get the network admin view rather than the everyday enthusiast.
So what does everyone think? I think for some things could be good for most business users...
It should work - downside though is ipad wont monitor those folders unless you tell it to -not even sure if it counts it on the icon.
Just edit the outlook rule - if its displaying the desktop alert or something like that it will be client only, remove it and its server processed :)
Lets see If I can figure it out.
If you want the emails to sit in a seperate mailbox - create a new account witht he email address and a mailbox then in the Exchange console give yourself full access to the mailbox.
Then on the laptop create your exchange account and then add in the...
Hey everyone,
THought this section might be best for my hunt. I am looking to get a system set up to store information about various tech systems at out company. I thought a wiki style system where people can log in and view the details (text and pictures, possibly a few files for download)...
