with 98 you can use 512MB Ram, more isn´t such a good idea, crashing around all the...

are you sponserd by MS for promoting SP2?

i have no vibration problem with the raptor, only sometime from my two...
the 370core isn´t the problem! that i can live with thats still near 20% OC.
it´s the 800 with the memory! they are build to make 900@stock and they are not going anywhere near this!
i´m a little bit confused. i have 2,2ns Hynix Ram, which means that the Ram can go up to 450/900 but on my card i can´t set it higher than 410/820! then a message appears, driver can´t handle this please reduce speeds? What the hell is going on???!!!
it also seems that i got a bad chip, over...
intel never produced an Socket 7 CPU over 233 MHz
anything faster than 233 for socket 7 comes from AMD, Cyrix or IDT/Winchip.
there was a Pentium MMX mobile (codename Tillamook) going up to 300 but this thing isn´t socket 7 compatible.
Super socket 7 only means that those boards can...
did you exit and restart doom when changing setting, it´s because w/o restart nothing changes. but 38,8 really looks a little low, my 9700@360/350 get there something around 34 FPS.
edit:
sorry 34 was with setting Ultra. 42 is wiht high settings.
that i also do.
i tried Ultra@1024 but in some situations this was simply to heavy for the 9700@360/350.
but did somebody has an idea how i can play on 1280 with high quality
it´s because i have a 17" TFT, 1024 already looks quite good (really good interpolation), but 1280 simply...
Quality High:
800*600 = 55,6
1024*768 = 41,9
1280*1024 = 28,6
Quality Ultra High:
800*600 = 47,5
1024*768 = 34,1
1280*1024 = 23,7

have you also taken a look in the Bios for the temps?
have you touched the heatsinks, are they also so hot?
75°C is extrem, especially for the board,in hope for you i think sandra reads b******t.
did the fans turn on for a second and then the system shutdown, or did the fans run and you get no picture? first point = CPU in 99% of cases, second point = in most cases the MB.
when you got no memory, there has to be an error-beep, overwise something else stops the board before running.
