I have had the EVGA x58 for little while now, and I like it, no major issues that the EVGA support could not help me with. Not having to wire HDD or power lights are a plus, because I can see them and the temp read out on the board through front of my case.

I had to change the CPU Uncore Frequency (Mhz) from Auto to an actual setting. While Patriot recommended a DIM voltage of 1.65v for it to run at 1600, I had to push it up to 1.7v to get it stable.

With help from the guys over on the EVGA forum I have the RAM working correctly. Not currently running the RAM at 1600, I just wanted to make sure I was able to. Working on the CPU overclock right now, Ill get back to the memory later.

Figured it out: Simply you cant run 12GB of RAM on the board at 1600, have to run at 1333 or 1066. If 1600 is selected then it will only reconize 4gb of RAM.

The HD4870X2 is only as good as its drivers, ATI has not had a good history with their crossfire drivers in many anticipated games at launch, not to mention if you plan on playing any open or closed betas.
