So I am building my brand new Antec Aria computer system. As I am trying to jimmy in the motherboard, I See it would be much easer, or possible, if i removed the PSU first. The PSU could only go so far out until it was caugth short by the wires going into teh AC inlet plug. So without thinking I...
And I will now steal this thread a little bit for a question I have, but i dont want to start a new thread to find out.
I am planning on getting this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-485&depa=0
which has socket 939 and pci-e for $90
Now Iknow...
run sysoft sandra, or some mad0nion 3dmark program. Each of these has an option to display every single resolution, color, refresh rate combination your particular card can output. I just dont know if it broken down between dvi and di-sub.
What I want to know is when this feature set will be out in microatx form factor. I am currently waiting to build a new pc and the 1 thing I have been waiting on for 3 months now is the realease of a microatx board with socket 939 + pci-express. I assume my choices are nvidias nforce4, vias...
I think its unlickely that monitters of those specs may ever come out for regular consumrer use. A 17 with 1600x1200 resolution will have an extremely high pixel density, much of the sharpness wil be lost due to being to small for people to see, also tex and other important things will be...
The shipping label should be behind the order sheetin in that plastic pouch on the outside of the box.
But I still think that 2 stuck pixels is not worth returning for.
GREAT NEWS
Got my Third 2005 fpw in just now, backlight issue is nonexistant. (manufacture date December, previous 2 from november) There is 1 stuck pixel, and another little blotch that ldousnt look like a dead pixel, looks more like some dark smudge on the screen about the size of 2 pixels...
I cant believe you. I would love to have one whos only problem is a dead pixel. The moniter I have now has 1 dead pixel and it is a %100 percent non-issue to me. But the first and second had terrible backligihting and this third thats on the way will be my last chance at this as im leaving for...
Reminds me of experiments ive dont on nvidia drivers. With my ti4600, if i install drivers later then 45.XX then I lose about 1000 3dmarks(3dmark2001se). So for a long time i stayed with those drivers but revently decided to go with the most current ones for better compatibility, but the card...
I am getting sick of this, my third one shoul dbe in next week, and i definatly dont have time to go for a fourth, or even return the third due to winter break.
My god!!! how do you people rack up extra ones you dont even need. I created 30 fake accounts, and played each of them on the DELF game 3 days in a row or about 90 times total(really). And I did not recieve a single 25% off coupon! Eventually I ddi recieve one from someone one this forum (thks)...
Weird, that is the exact choice I was stuck between 3 weeks ago. I eventually chose the fp931, but when newegg screwed up the order and I had to cancel it, I waited a few more weeks and then went with the 2005fpw from dell.
edit: Another thing to think about, the fp937 is for sale at pcmall...
I have a good idea. Whenever one of us returns their moniter for backlight problems, they should put some kind of subtle but identifiable mark on some part of hte packaging. That way when Dell recieves it and immediatly sends it out as a replacement for someone else who has backlighting probs we...
I dont see why that it would confuse you people dont like dell pc's but may like thier moniters. The reason I would never buy a Dell PC is because I am now a do-it-yourselfer. I would never give up complete control over what my computer is made out of or who makes it. With dell that is the only...
Ive read a couple of reviews of DDR systems so far, Every one has concluded that the performance benefits are negligable, around 1 to 2%. But the price isnt htat insane anymore.
Just got my second one in today, set it up next to the first and here is a pic of both with black backgrounds, new one on the right, old on the left.
As you can see the new one is every bit as bad as the first one got after a week of use. And the first one got steadily worse over...

I went to asus' site and all the software I could find for the a8v is a bios update utlitiy and manuals couldnt find any drivers, could you link directly to the via drivers you used, I still cant find any for my hard drive
thks
Sry but that dousnt work. Inside the folder is a VIAmRAID folder, and inside that is specific drivers for all the operating systems. First I But in just hte contents of hte winxp folder into a floppy, then I put the entire VIAmRAID folder into a floppy. Both times, durning setup, when I tell it...
like I said in the other two threads, my 2005 fpw has this problem to a moderate degree as well. Has gotten worse in the last couple of days since i got it to. A new one is on the way And ill see how it compares.
exactly the same for me. They suggested a differnet DVD decoder, but other then that I think its just hte large size letting tyou see things you couldnt before, and the highe resolution conflicting with the low resoltution of the dvd
Im interstested in this too. It seems the Nforce 4's the VIA K8T890's and the Radeon Xpress 200's were announced and released long ago, but i have yet to find them in retail channels, i Know the xpress is having probs and got delayed, but I dont think the other two have. I plan to build a new...
When I do searches for this I cant find anything that specifically awnsers these questions.
Anyway Im buildiing a brand new computer for a friend and I went with a SATA setup despite haveing no experiance with it because everything I read said that SATA is supposed to be more advanced and...
just be sure you look closely the next couple of days. When I first got mine I figured I would jsut ignore it as it was not htat bad. But im sure that it has gotten worse over the last 4 days of use.
Well I made the decision to send for a replacement. The backlight leakage was just to annoying since I watch DVD movies alot on this. Also other people said that their moniters dont have the diagonal viewing problem mine has. I am just worrying that the replacement might be worse. If it is ...
could someon else who has this mointer attest to this? I am very curious about wether this is just the panel the 2005 is built with, or wether mine has a prob.
a picture of my backlighting issue (exxagerated somewhat in the pic). should i return it? and should i send delll tech support this picture if I email them?
But what i really want to know from other owners is:
when i move my head directly verticle or horizontal the image stays perfect...
Also my ps2 experiance.
I had an old ps2 lying around. I used to have it hooked to my computer via my tuner card, but hte horrible quality that entailed made it not worth it. But when I plug it into my mintors s-video, then it looks fantastic! Hardly discernable from a regular television...
A really useful thing ive discovered.....
If you have an Nvidia graphics card, go into its control panel and there is a list of options for scaling the pictures for LCD screens. You can:
Have it scaled to pixel ratio, so every resolution is like native where one pixel in the program = on...
Well its set up. Love the color, love thesharpness, love the size. only has 1 dead pixel, but it is not in any way annoying. But it definately has the backlight issue are all talking about, seriously considering exchange. Weird thing is, when I first set it up it was definately fine, but the...
Well it came in and its sitting in the box beside me now. im taking bets on wether or not I'll have to return it. ill give keep/return 40/60 odds. Any takers?
thank you, exactly what I wanted to know :)
edit; Now I just want to know how non-native compares to native compared to other LCDs nonative comparing to native :)
omg omg omg. Mine shipped on the 30th, 2 days ahead of schedule. It is in Anchorage right now and should be here any day now :) Right now I am expercting either a 50% chance of being ecstatic with my new moniter, or calling in to exchange it for a working one :( I sure hope it comes in all right.
