I think you have to go SLI or Quad every time a new GPU generation hits. Playing games maxed out at 2560x1600 is really demanding. And for newer and upcoming games you have to upgrade every time.
Hey
I use Bootcamp for Mac OS X and XP Pro on my MBP. One reason I use XP is gaming. I still have the Apple ATI display drivers installed.
Is it possible to use newer Catalyst drivers from ati.com? Has anyone tested this?
Thanks
I'm asking because I like to buy a HD-DVD player for my PC. Not a standalone player.
So if I play a HDCP protected movie over DVI HDCP, I like to see the movie at least on 1080i. Is this possible or does the 3007 have a similar limitation as the 2407?
Thanks.
The inputs on the BenQ are nice! Component and HDMI... But HDMI is kind of useless, there are no speakers.
Another question... Does the 3007 support 1080i/p HDCP or just 720p?
But If I buy a HD DVD drive for my PC in 2007 and all my components are HDCP ready the 3007 is capable of displaying 1080p or is there a limitation to 720p?
Gefen has some Dual Link DVI KVM: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/cav-switchers.jsp
But these boxes are buggy, at least the 2in1... look at the forums on the Gefen site.
Yes, a 7950 would be ideal for you. PPU and Xfi with SLI is a problem nowadays... choosing the right mobo is important!
Me too. Kentsfield and Quad G80 - Quad all the way^^ But Conroe first ;)
MaddieBrad, jacuzz1 is right. You need to get a second 7900. With a normal 7900GTX SLI all games are ok at 2560 except Condemned, Oblivion and TRL (next gen). This is with ingame settings maxed out and 0-2x AA and 4-8x...
Thanks for testing. I have the same issue.. but 84.xx drivers are ok... try these if you have other problems.
For me, like I said, it's only with SLI and only on the 3007.
That would be cool, thanks!
So do you like it with SLI now? I think so^^
btw, good games to test this bug are GRAW (menu), Condemned (loading screen) or CoD2 MP Map Burgundy (sky).
I have some questions for SLI users:
What drivers are you using?
Have you ever tried the new 87.xx or 91.xx drivers? Do these drivers work with the 3007 for you?
Because I got some major problems since the 87.xx series. I get massive yellow flickering on brown or grey surfaces (ingame...
I recommend SLI:
-performance is identical
-you get game proifles and a lot of tools to tweak SLI
-HDR+AA always depends on the method the developer uses, sometimes even ATI cannot enable it
-SLI is more mature, nVidia supports a lot of games
-it's more flexible, no external stuff, no need...
No you need dual link DVI for 2560x1600 - it doesn't matter if this is in a game or just the desktop. You would be able to run it at lower resolutions, but not at the native one.
What brand are your 7800s? I think all of the 7800GTX 512 do have dual link DVI. There are some 7800GTs without...
Wow that is hoooooot^^ Enjoy it!
I'd like to have a second one for my MacBook Pro...
Lol, you have soo much desktop space but nearly no room for your mouse :P
The 3007 has only one DVI port, nothing else.
The resolutions is even higher than HDTV 1080i or p (1920x1080).
You don't need 7900. If you have two 7800GTX with 512MB RAM you are sooo ready for this display :P
Or what doesn't work properly right now with the 7800?
I'm running here 7900GTX SLI with current 675/1750 clocks... so not a huge real world difference to the SC's.
Everything runs smooth at 2560 (maxed out) except Condemned, Oblivion and GRAW (coop only, SP is fine at 2560) with 0-2x AA and 8x AF. Condemned is slow because there is no real driver...
Could you please explain how to use fddshow correctly for this upscaling?
I don't know how to use these ReScaling & NR options in the right way. Thanks!
