When will this display come to be?!?!?! Because it's the perfect monitor.
27in Display or better
IPS family panel
LED Backlit
120Hz Refresh
Low input lag
No anti glare coating
My buddy is looking for my help in finding the ultimate laptop right now. One where I can go and configure it for him.
Whats do you suggest... Money really is no object
xoticpc.com??
Alienware??
ETC???
To my surprise (this being the most active forum on Displays on the net) there is no dedicated discussion of the dreaded "input lag." Yet you hear about it in many threads.
"Only go with TN Panels"
"40ms difference will get you killed"
"No way humans can even notice"
"I game fine on XXX...
After playing with and comparing my old Gateway 2185w to a Hanns-G 28in and a Gateway FHD 2400, I'm convinced that a glossy screen on a PVA/MVA family monitor would be a compelling purchase.
I can easily adjust my room lighting.
Do they exist?
I'm only aware of the Westinghouse...
So,
There's the Video Card, The Monitor, and presumably some kind of Calibration Software.
Any strategies on how to make all three of these dance well with each other? I am having trouble making an FHD 2400 work out in all areas and I hate trying to fight with all three variables.
Review: Thermalright Ultima-90 ES vs Tuniq Tower 120
Thermalright has been releasing some interesting new products recently. I'd like to show you an engineering sample of what could be described as the little brother to the yet to be released Ultra 120 Extreme, the Ultima-90.
The...

At any rate... this thing...
Looks like Thermalright extended a special sneak preview to anandtech... it fits two more heatpipes... and to great effect... Looks like the Tuniq Towers day may have come.. will be good to see this in the hands of others
Someone get a quad under these...
Multiple Choice, choose the ones you regularly go to for information and browsing... click as many as you like, and write in ones that aren't there.
Just curious... Myself, I have 1.5mb of Firefox bookmarks of all sorts of things. I hit alot of hardware tech sites, [H]ardOCP principally...
Hey all....
I built a computer stand and decided to build a test bench. Anyone know of any rubber standoffs (to isolate motherboard) that I could use to put on top of the test bench. Rubber that only hit where the board screws/standoffs would go... Or should i just relax and use standard...
Through Penryn release and price drop, this should fit the bill until then yes?
- CPU - E6400 (I think i want the 8 multi) - 222$
- Mobo - Asus P5B-Dlx wifi - 194$
- Ram - Teem Extreme pc6400 (I wanna play with the new promos and the price is right) - 230$
Rest is in Sig....
Soooo I'm looking into getting the P5B- Deluxe and wander on over to the Asus Manual memory section where it starts talking about Qualified Memory... Qualified to go into the board and they list chip sequences... "Micron 5ZD22D9GKX and 6CD22D9GKX" for instance...
Does this really matter or...
Getting off the AMD train for now, hopefully I'll see them again. Check my build please....Version 1
This build will consist of a new CPU, DDR2 Ram, and a Motherboard. The rest I already have in place. My max “wait till this comes out” is 2 months. I leave it to you…...
Whats that one web site where the full specs of memory are compiled and searchable (there might be several.) I went to OCZ's website to see if a set had micron chips but that info didnt seem to be there. Google isnt turning anything up.
Anyone know which website im talking about?
All the IDE cables I have seen in shops have that lone middle hole plugged. How to get that plug out? I think they're phantasmal online ... the only place I found (for a black rounded single device one) has been out of stock for the past 2 months.
I'm still thinking of search terms but I...
DFI-Street is no longer associated with DFI... Best wishes guys!
http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/index.php
This was a forum where one could go for DFI issues (paid DFI techs actually on the forums) and learn from some pretty knowledgable guys.
Anyone have insight into this situation?
Coming up on my second build and was wondering how you guys approach a certain aspect of choosing memory.
I would pick a motherboard and chipset I want before I choose the Ram (some may have other wants) so after you have picked a motherboard, do you search out the manufacturer...

My second build is coming up and it will be grand to see what DFI has done!
Wellllll It's the first hands on review I have seen

This case is quite cool IMO... Unique features to begin with, think of the fun to be had whilst modifying it.
Reviewer seems thoughtful enough and positive about it, think I should turn...
Shouldn't there be a selection for "High Quality" and not just "Quality" on this portion of the CP? Or, does that setting only exist for Texture Quality in the "Manage 3D Settings" area.
PS... Anyone else just annoyed when they have to learn a new software interface that worked well in...
I recently bought a Logisys bay device with three thermal probes. They are the flat wire type probes. Well I was thinking I could get good temp readings by putting one of the probes ON the heatsink nearest the CPU, but those readings were way off when the CPU was at load...so I have two...
I searched the forum and it's been about a year since this has last been discussed.
Are there any good new options for 80mm Fans out there? I'd like to get to the 25cfm area without busting 18dBA

Hello!
I wanted to check to see if it's worth it (cost/benefit) to upgrade from my current hard drive (Seagate 160gb-IDE-8mb/cache) to a 150gb Raptor or 320gb Western Digital Sata with 16mb cache.
I play a game or two, work with office suites, surf the web alot, and use only half...
Can anyone shed light on this?
I was installing a new Lite-On DVD Burner this weekend and the documentation said something like this.
"To get the most out of your burner it's reccomended that you make it the master drive"
Why would that matter?
Hey all... reformatting soon and I can't for the life of me find or remember which NF4 Drivers I do not need... I have my own sound card, so no Audio driver needed, and I dont RAID so i know i dont need that...

Hello All!!
I have been searching for a do-it-all (Game audio, Music audio, Mic quality, Build quality) pc headset and I dont think it's out there. From what i can piece together, Sennhieser, Icemat, Steelsound, Medusa, Sharkoon, Raptor all seem to fail in some major category...
Hey all
I have decided to go with a 1900xtx or a 1950xtx to replace my 7800gt.
My question is this, I understand that the 1950xtx is basically a 1900xtx with faster ram, but the benchmarks i have seen place the two cards extremely close to each other, will new rounds of drivers give the...
IQ = Image quality and is not to be mistaken for how many frames per second a card can produce.
Please do NOT VOTE if you haven't seen these cards in action.
For Nvidia high end for this purpose starts at 6800gt
For ATI high end starts at x800
There ARE flaws in this poll, but just...

Hi all... :)
I'm sitting at an overall Opteron 165 OC of 2430 and I'm decently pleased with it but 2.6-2.7 would be nice. I can't seem to go past 279-285 FSB (I found this limit by isolating the FSB from the CPU speed and Ram.) I'm using a Ultra-D with the 623-3 Bios (all specs below.)...
Hey people,
What are the benefits and/or problems associated with using a software and hardware together. A computer build professional reccomended just running my router/firewall but I really want to be able control outbound packets. I see no need for adobe, microsoft, or anyone else to...
Coolbits Optimal Detect threw me out a 499x1200 overclock on my BFG 7800gt (w 82.12 drivers)...Temps are 55c under load and there are no artifacting problems.
This appears to be a great OC.... is this typical of Coolbits to do this?
Also

Hi all,
So im doing my first overclocking ever and Im wondering if all is ok.
