1, I downloaded and installed the 64-bit patch, right clicked warhead and play 64 bit DX10 per the instructions. I forgot all about 32-bit saves supposedly not working (as claimed in the release notes) and just started playing my old save. It worked fine, well I say that but the first time I...
What would be expected? I have 4GB RAM and Q6600 so that's not a problem..
Would a 8800GT be much better?
So far the demo doesn't seem to quite run at high. I think it runs about 18-20 FPS, which surprisingly is just almost playable in this game. This kicked up to maybe 20-23 when I switched...
I dont know how hot of a deal this is or anything, or if it's been posted, and it's YMMV, but a my Best Buy they had BFGTech 800 watt power supply for $128, marked down from $250.
Reviews show this is a real nice, in fact exceptional, PSU. It has sleeved cables an 6 SATA power connecters. I...
Quad core Q6600, 8800GT,
4X1GB RAM, 1X500GB HDD, 1XDVD drive. Probably a nic card and small sound card as well.
Specifically what I'm looking at is the Antec Basiq 500 watter. The overall seems to be enough, how about all the rails and whatnot?
I built a new PC with Vista the other day, and I was planning to have both it and my old box on the same network and hoping to easily tranfer files between them, mainly to get all my old setting and stuff like MP3's off my old computer easily.
The setup I currently have is, Linkys wireless...
So long story short I had ordered a lot of parts for a new quad core rig from newegg, they are due tomorrow.
However initially I had planned to perhaps reuse my old case/PSU that my current aging rig sits in, which I'm not particularly happy with anyway, as I'd much rather leave my old build...
Simplle as above. I assume I'll have to do a total system rebuild. But, I wish I could just drop a 8800GTS in for Crysis. How stupid would it be? Gaming at 1280X1024.
Has Kyle and enlightened forumers taught us nothing? Those are completely meaningless to real world gamreplay. R600 is NOT a failure, in fact it may be much, much better than 8800GTX in real world gaming.
Lets all do a favor and stop discussing canned benchmarks and timedemos!
Right, guys?
I...
Right? I mean high profile PC releases are becoming thinner and thinner. It's now months between them. Piracy I believe mostly, as well as the popularity of consoles, and the ever expensive constant need to upgrade to play the latest PC games, means the userbase is shrinking.
This is in...
I just got this..my first decent video card in ages (cant wait to fulfill my tradition of downloading all the 3Dmarks every time I get a new card).
Anyway, I heard it was passive cooled by reference design, so even if my model had a fan I figured it would be nothing.
Well too be honest...
I'm no fan of videogame basketball or anything, but I download some of these demos to check out the graphics on stuff like Madden. They're usually pretty impressive. But NBA2k7 takes the cake. It's incredible! (Like I said I'm no Bball game expert and dont care about the gameplay, just talking...
For those who dont know newest issue of OXM came in the mail today and has a 360 FEAR demo.
Cant say much, didn't play too much. Mostly I noticed the frame rate is incredibly smooth. Must be 60 and never even hints at slowing down. AA is good but there seems to be some aliasing here and...
I notice on some of the weapon choices they list as having a grenade launcher mounted on the rifle . However when using these rifles I dont see any way to fire the grenade launcher mounted on the underside of the gun, just the regular rifle. Nothing is mentioned about it in the manual either...
People only seem to for the most part eyeball console titles and declare them 30 or 60 FPS. On PC's we have an objective measurment for FPS, FRAPS.
Is there any way to do that on consoles? Cant the refresh rate of the actual display capture it somehow? Or some equipment could measure it off...
Last I remember it was maybe two games got increases from dual core, COD2 and Qauke 4, and one of those was broken anyway (aka no real advantage from dual core).
I dont see this discussed in reviews anymore..is this still the case? Or do most games take advantage of dual core now and I just...
For fathers day I'm trying to get my dad a video card. He doesn't do much but a lot of heavy photoshop type work. I'm trying to stay cheap like 50-70. Of course it's an agp system.
Anyways best I've found is 9600pro. It's around $50 on newegg. Does that sound about right?
On this other forum, this guy, who knows what he's talking about, mentioned there is lag with SLI configs.
Basically like, there's some milliseconds between when you do something, like move your mouse, and when it draws the frame right? Like 30 milliseconds or something.
Well he was...
I find myself enjoying the demo a little bit. It's in the new OXM.
I like it because these games always have some gameplay twist now days to complicate things. In this one you just shoot shit. It's refreshing. Well you do have some kinda time powers but they're simple.
The graphics, I dont...

I understand widescreen are measured differently..examply a 19" widescreen is smaller than a 19" 4X3.
So..going from a 17" 4X3 to a 19" widescreen, the widesreen is still bigger right? I;m thinking of doing that, but I want to be impressed with a larger size screen.
And how is the...
Since the 9700 pro days?
I mean, the 8500 was said to be a good card, but in practice it was slower than Nvidia's competition.
Since then:
9700/9800 vs 5900, easy win for ATI.
X800 vs 6800, ATI win (they didn't get enough credit here, but were generally clearly faster, though not to...
What kind of a vague term is "a lot"? In a professional review? There's one of the big problems. There is no nuance with this system. If you look at a benchmark review, you might see that card B is 45% faster frame rates, for example. This tell you something more useful. In how the card scales...
I'm getting a PCIe mobo, so now I need a card. I just want something competent but cheap.
Is their something markedly better than the x1600XT which I can get for $155? I'm really liking the 12 pipelines and forward nature of that card, as well as sm 3.0 etc..
It seems stupid but I'd almost...
What? X1900 XT is CLEARLY the overall fastest card available.
Hell, X1800 beats the 512 in three modern games at least! (FEAR, Battlefield, and Call of Duty)
Par? Come on.
They finally have good availability on X1800XT.
Better performance in many/most games than 256 GTX.
Only $40 more, prices dropping. With 256 MB more memory standard!
A 256 MB edition coming, which should be cheaperr than 256 GTX, but still faster.
Nvidia only has one 512 card..and...
With a USB controller.
What's the best program to do this preferably free?
Those flash versions on websites aren't really what I want, I dont think. I want the full qaulity.
My brother just got a 26" LCD widescreen TV on BF sale for 499. He's using it to play WOW and it's simply INCREDIBLE. Now I must have one ASAP.
Anyways I wonder why this isn't done more often?
I suppose the res is a little low, 720P, but it's not bad, plus for a while he had it on...
