Getting Cisco VPN to work on LINKSYS WRT54GL

Has anyone attempted this with any success? Using DD WRT and the wiki I've been trying the latest DD WRT VPN firmware and this http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/VPNC as you can see however, the documentation is .. limited? I'm not sure but so far I've been unable to get it to work.

    V-sync problem

I have never heard of any connection between v-sync and a severe drop in FPS. My understanding is the ONLY thing v-sync does it make sure that you get frames only on a screen refresh and not in between screen refreshes... Strange issue indeed.

    V-sync problem

is it actually a drop in FPS you're seeing or is it tearing that you're seeing. Sorry if that's an elementary question for you but I'm not aware of your technical saviness. A lot people will mistake tearing for low FPS and tearing is actually pretty normal in a lot games if you have a weird...

Getting ATI to support Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling

I'm confused as to why you would want it to fit your screen vertically.. You'd end up with some butt-ugly images since you're not fitting 1 pixel to 1 pixel. You end up fitting 1 pixel into like 1.44444 pixels which means pixel #1 is put in box 1, pixel #2 is put in box 2 AND 3.. yeah, that...

    4 30" monitors-Dell says "No"

I agree with the sentiment that running the lower res on one of those higher res monitors is a bad idea. Things might get bigger but that will probably not translate into "more seeable" (is seeable a word?). No, you will want to keep your resolution high (at native) and use windows various...

New AGP card for wife's computer

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814195031 How does this card stack up? Are there any "obvious" better value items or is this card pretty solid? Mostly we play WoW together (my system handles it just fine). I just wanted to get a bit more of the eye candy to play well on...

    Voodoo 3 16mb AGP 2x dead - AGP 4x ok?

Holy crap I haven't seen one of those cards in years... Think I sold mine on eBay about 5 years ago for 50 bucks. Sorry to hear that it died. That's vintage man. Can't help you on your question though. Good luck.

I can't even get Centered Timings to work the way yours works. Everything scales to the full panel size for me. Everything..

Probably the **DUMBEST** THG I've ever seen...

Dude... The whole point of the article is to see how these new AGP cards work on older systems. What the hell are you ranting about again? /bored

    Help with LAN connection please?

2 things that come to mind off the bat 1. Make sure your network device is enabled. 2. Re-run the network setup wizard from your control panel.

Would this work decent on a 24" LCD?

Not even close. That link will provide you zero help getting BF2 to play widescreen. You can stretch that 4:3 image all day long if you please, that doesn't make it widescreen, that makes it a very ugly 4:3. Without hacking you will not get BF2 to play 16:9 or 16:10. You will only get it to play...

Would this work decent on a 24" LCD?

I think everyone is forgetting to remind you that BF2 can't be played at any widescreen resolution (unless you're a hacker). So you're looking for a card that can do regular 4/3 resolutions like 1600x1200 (on a 24" for example) which I think that card will do just fine. You won't have the...

Any programs available that force proper image scaling?

Thanks a lot! Thanks to that forum I've figured out Sim City 4 and The Sims and a few others. I suppose there is no fix for BF2 but that's mostly because those monkeys over at EA have a stick up their butts.

Any programs available that force proper image scaling?

I just got a new Acer AL2416W. It's very nice. I LOVE the widescreen world.. However with CCC's "use centered timings" not working properly has anyone come up with a work-around for games that do not support wide-screen resolutions like 1920x1200, without stretching the image, for monitors that...

Digital Camcorders - What is a CCD?

Also I've noticed the CMOS camcorders are either very cheap or very expensive.

Digital Camcorders - What is a CCD?

Yeah I've read the article on Wiki. It's pretty helpful but what I guess I'm wondering is what's the difference in image quality between say a 2x CCD or a 3.7x CCD. And what does that mean? Also when I'm looking at Camcorders on NewEgg they all have a CCD spec it seems.
  24. E

Digital Camcorders - What is a CCD?

Can someone define what this spec means and how it relates to the quality of picture?

    Windows Crashing on Install

Well it turns out he had to install his HD that he was installing the OS to and the optical drive he was installing from on the same cable. Which seems odd to me because I've always set mine up 2 HDs on one cable and 2 Optical drives on the other.. who knows, just seems wierd.

    Windows Crashing on Install

Well I found out he was installing both memory sticks in the same bank. Instead of 1 in each. He hasn't got the system back together yet but maybe that was the problem? We'll see, I also told him about checking the voltage. He seems to think it's a hard drive issue with that board, he's got an...

So, got the 1900XTX, overclocks like a champ

For some people (like myself) the value is in the process of OCing and seeing the results, doesn't matter if you can tell the difference in BF2 or not, as long as you can see them somehow (3d mark, etc.) Personally I can't tell any difference in BF2 or any other games I play but my 3D Marks...

So, got the 1900XTX, overclocks like a champ

You need to enable 3D detection and find out what voltage it uses for 3D clocks. Most likely you're getting a black screen because your voltage is too low for that clock. For example on my x1800xt this is my setup 2D Settings - 594/693 @ 1.25v 3D Settings - 702/801 @ 1.475v You'll also...

The Death of End-User video card overclocking

companies will always try to find ways to strip out the consumer surplus. As another poster said, good for them, bad for enthusiasts. However, you will now be paying closer to what you are willing to pay, instead of far less than you were willing to pay, thus consumer surplus = gone.

Definately Loving the new ATI Tool Beta 14

make sure you're saving your voltage settings to the profile also. And make sure CCC is deactivated. Also make sure the voltage switcher is not loading on startup. Edit: in fact it's probably best if you uninstall CCC all together.

Definately Loving the new ATI Tool Beta 14

No one is name calling. Please don't turn this thread into a flame fest. My only intention in starting it was to hype ATI Tool some and let folks know the new beta is working a LOT better than the last few betas, especially on the X1800 and X1900 Cards. Thanks for the tips. I'm sure some will...

Definately Loving the new ATI Tool Beta 14

Agreed. If you're crashing with ATI Tool then it's clear you shouldn't be using it, CCC is your best option. If you're savy enough ATI Tool will give you that extra little push. For reference, using CCC the best 3DMark I ever managed was under 9k, while easily breaking 10k with ATI tool. Like I...

Definately Loving the new ATI Tool Beta 14

ATI Tool can do it, it just doesn't use the same switcher CCC uses, it uses it's own switcher. I'm running: 2D settings at 594/693 @ 1.25 volts 3D settings at 702/801 @ 1.475 volts Custom fan settings so that fan hits 100% at 75C and I don't go above 76C under load. Just enable the...
