So because its not worth it to you cause you *hate* doing a windows install (painless imo) then RAID 0 is no good? I dont know, it doesnt bother me one bit, and the performance is not negligible...its a nice boost in speed. I use photoshop alot so to me, i love the boost.
The way i see it is, i have one RAID 0 for Windows, then a separate normal 500GB drive for my music, movies, pictures etc etc...if you setup is like mine, then who cares if one drive fails. Id rather have the performance than worry about the drive failing. Now, if you run a server with a bunch of...
After some reading, it appears that my Pentium D 805 is the limiting factor here. It seems that the small FSB allows for DDR-533 at max. Looks like ill be buying a C2D (or Quadcore) soon. No sense in having such memory if its gonna be stuck at less than 533.
My motherboard allows DDR2-800, yet when i defaulted back to all stock speeds, my new ram still isnt running at 800Mhz. Any reason why?? Im confused about this memory thing.
I currently upgraded my RAM to DDR800 (at home waiting for me, just delivered). I currently have DDR 533 installed on my PC. If i run 2 gigs of DDR800 and 2 gigs of DDR533, will it all default to 533 speeds? Or will they run as is, 2 in 800 and 2 in 533? Just curious. Not that i need all that...
I agree on how easy it is to put on AS5. But the problem we see here is that people argue over the "correct" way of doing it. I have a Pentium D (hot CPU) at 3.4Ghz from a stock 2.66Ghz speed. Im idle at 43-44C and loaded at 56-58C. This is with my fans being all low and almost no noise coming...
What do you guys think of this solution? Seeing as so many people argue about how much paste to put on a HSF and CPU. Inputs please! http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3776/thr-18/Thermal_Tape_-_1_Inch_Square_148_0012.html?id=fZb5wWmu#blank
My Pentium D is hotter than your C2D any given day. Im overclocked from 2.66Ghz to 3.4Ghz and its still cooler than your setup...well your old setup. Kinda odd.
Im runnning a Pentium D 805 at 3.4Ghz and my load is 57C with an idle of about 43C. Im not too sure, but arent C2D supposed to run cooler than previous dual core procs?
Nope! Only when you change mobo. Even then it authenticates just fine over the Internet. Ive done it 5 times this past week already (upgrading the office :) )
If all you do is print in black and white, then DIY ink kits are great. Anything more professional and you lose TONS of quality. In the end its not worth it. But go ahead if you print essays n stuff.
I have a Pentium D (50$ @ newegg) and i bought a Tuniq Tower. But the way i see it is, im planning on upgrading to a Q6600 when the price plummets,so ill use the same cooler i bought for that Proc.
You think thats loud? You should try hearing my 2700 RPM panflo's going at it while my Tuniq Tower is at 100% speed. :-) My gf complains that we should turn off my PC at night cause she cant sleep....sleep? Who needs sleep? Its 4:32AM here and im wide awake...then again, i took some Vicodin and...
I have the P182 and the way i have it is like this. One Tri-Cool fan blowing air IN from the front of the case. The back fan is blowing air OUT because my Tuniq Tower is blowing air out to it. The top fan i have it blowing air in. Now my case fans are one Tri-Cool and 2 Panflos that do 114CFM at...
Why not? They are highly recommended here. I love it, i cooled my case alot after i installed....also...the fans that came with the antec case...kinda broke. My little nephew thinks its funny to jam a pen in my case as the fan spins (which is locked now) heh...i love em.
So i have 3 case fans right now. All are 120mm. The Tuniq tower comes with a great fan, but why not change it out for something even better....right? :-) I have a 114CFM delta fan that i use for my exhaust fan and one of the same thing on the top of the case an an exhaust fan. Should i swap out...
Is this accomplished only thru water cooling? Lets say i decided to buy that same processor, could i accomplish similar if not a bit lower speed with a HSF solution?
