    RAM Problems? Cooling too Tight?

Might seem a silly question (a very long shot actually!), but have you checked for a bank limitation on the chipset? I can recall some older Intel chipsets only recognising a set number of banks on memory installed where maximum memory capacity could only be recognised if a mixed number of...

Dell Offers Out Of Warranty Sex Chat

Well they f***ed you over in the first place in getting you to buy their systems, so they are only continuing to f*** you over when out of warranty.

So who's HAPPY with Vista SP1?!

those running beta's or rc's need to uninstall them first before installing the Final SP1. Very smooth install on the machines here with no problems at all. Systems all feel slightly more repsonsive than the RC versions. Battery life on the notebooks is noticably better than before. One...

Photos Of A Man On Mars?

If you check out the original photo on NASA's site, you can see that the 'bigfoot' is no more than a couple of metres away from the camera, so it must be a micro-midgetfoot if it is anything other than a rock formation.

Sony Slims PS3 Line In Japan

No different to the UK 40GB that is the only SKU now over here for the PS3, which has been available since October 07. Looks like Sony are slimming down the SKU's to a worldwide standard & the USA will be next to get this. Look on the bright side though, at least you will not be paying the...

    Vista SP1 RC1 is out

Have not had any problems with the Intel wireless NIC in the Toshiba Satellite A100 I am using at the moment here, nor with the Broadcom wireless NIC in the Compaq Turion based notebook that is also on the desk. Both have been working fine since the OEM version of Ultimate hit the shelves at launch.

Apple's iPhone Sales Sluggish in Europe

Easy to answer this one. I used to work for O2 in the UK a few years ago (was rated fouth highest retail salesperson in the Country in my employment there). Number of Reasons. 1: As all other handsets on pay monthly or pre-pay plans are heavily subsidised by the Network in the UK, users...

British Hacker Can Challenge U.S. Extradition

His human rights are at risk & the person to blame for this crap is the wife of the former Prime Minister, Cherie Blair (if truth be known she was the one running the country into the ground not Tony Blair). Since she got the Human Rights Bill passed in the European Courts (the same European...

    Wi-Fi Security Broken

Those that didn't already know this with regards to WEP should NOT be even touching a computer let alone configuring a wireless network. WEP has never been fully secure and easy to break into. Those who rely on WEP deserve all they get IMHO.

    More $399 PS3 Evidence

Don't say us in the UK actually got something before North America!!!???!!! These watered down 40GB PS3's have been in stores here for a few weeks now and are not selling in all honesty due to the 60GB software emulates PS2 compatiable version being £50 more with a better games bundle! Sony have...

Most People Wrong About Computer Security

I haven't used AV software on any of my personal PC's since Windows 2000. Didn't see the need for it in all honesty as I never had any problems with infections nor anything flagged up that I would have opened as attachments. I agree that most home and business users should use AV products if...

    Commodore Rocks...Because I Said So

My inbox is like Kyle's (probably not as many useful emails though) each day with PR mails from freshwater angling companies regarding their new products, and some of the claims they make are 'out of this world'. Same as Kyle, I have questioned their claims (sometimes on a daily basis) and some...

MS Releases Vista Performance Patches to Testers

Installed these beta patches on the notebook that is running 32bit Ultimate Edition here. Boot times are cut by 3 or 4 seconds, which is significant amount of time given the speed of the 2.5" HDD in the notebook. Aero Glass seems to be more fluent when watching video in windowed media...

    ASUS P5K Series Snapshots

Now that is some serious copper on the first board!! Nice to see legacy ports on the decline now in favour of more USB ports. I know Abit tried to do this 5 or 6 years back with the AT7-MAX series of boards, but they soon reverted back to the dual PS/2 ports. Also nice to see dual eSATA on...

GAME Refuses to Stock PS3 Oblivion?

I have been told by the manager of my local GAME store that it is because the company are struggling to sell ANYTHING PS3 related apparently to their pricing system. Generally GAME's prices are £2 or so higher than the competition and even their own website for the same item.

    A Farewell from [H] Consumer

I am sad to see this way of evaluating the whole process of buying systems go, but at the end of the day, advertisers won't plow money into advertising campaigns if anything negative is said about their products or services, and there is no point in having advertisers paying for page impressions...

    30 Days with Vista @ [H]

Let me hazard a guess that you are running a RAID array here (I haven't read the machine specs), and if so this is NOT a Vista problem as Photoshop CS2 has a habit of doing this on systems with RAID configurations. Adobe acknowledge this as well on their Support Pages. I can tell you that CS2...

DA Pls Make Vista Better thread.

Toatally agreed. Classic Theme isn't that hard to find is it????? Making the icons the standard size also isn't a problem. My own theory's are that things will get better and the launch of Vista is no different to the launch of any new MS OS, as they have all had problems in one way or...

    need help !!!
