It seems like almost every mechanical keyboard vendor only ships keyboards with english or blank keys. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one with english and russian key caps?
Thanks!
Does anyone have any recommendations for wireless mice used for gaming? I want to look into a wireless keyboard and mouse for my htpc setup. I've used wireless in the past and have had problems with lag and range.
I'm looking for something with virtually no lag, good range, and long battery...
Has anyone found a good usb flash drive thats really durable and won't break? I like to keep one on my keychain so it gets a lot of friction and abuse. Anything with a cap is out because caps easily wear out then fall off and get lost.
I had a corsair drive before, one of the ones with the...
Of all your history of building and dealing with computers, what component has failed the most for you?
For me hands down its motherboards. Most computers I've owned I've gone through at least 2 sets of motherboards before upgrading the entire machine. Most of them just seem so cheaply made...
I'm looking for a cheap replacement for my old socket 939 motherboard.
Needs to have the following features:
at least 1 pci-e x16 slot for a nvidia 7000 series graphics card
Support 4gbs of ddr memory
at least 2 internal usb headers
at least 1 internal firewire header
at least 1 gigabit NIC...
I've got an old ABIT KN-8 Socket 939 motherboard with an Athlon X2 in it.
I put it in an old 2u rackmount case and went and ordered a 2u psu from ebay for it.
It's an istar 460W psu.
Now I hook everything up, plug in the connector and the motherboard leds come on. Hit the power switch...
I looked on Norco's site today and now they have the RL-20 rails listed as compatible with the 4220 case. Has anyone tried these rails?
Way back when I got my Norco I got the RL-26 rails and like just about everyone else's experience, it was too wide for my rack and couldn't be used. I'm...
I was looking for a SAS or SATA card to setup my backup server. Unfortunatly FreeBSD does not support the marvell sata driver so that nice cheap $100 8 port supermicro pci-x card will not work.
I was browsing ebay and grabbed this for $50.
It uses the lsi 1068 chip and it has a built in sas...
My media PC has a Corsair HX620. It has a core i5 750 and 2 ati 4870's. I ran some apps to stress the cpu and video and my kill-a-watt read about 450W.
Generally, whats a good wattage % to aim for with your PSU?
Also another somewhat unrelated question. Just this morning my server which...
I wanted to play with overclocking on my HT / Gaming PC.
It's a Core i5 750, P55 mobo, 8gb ddr3 1600.
I've always avoided overclocking because I was worried it would shorten the lifetime of my hardware.
I just purchased this i5 setup and the motherboard I was using was an asus P7P55D...
I'm looking for a new printer, with the following requirements.
-Laser
-Color
-Duplex
-Scanning function
-Network
-Supported in Unix (cups)
Most of these are pretty expensive so I've been looking around. Does anyone have any recommendations? I care about quality only that it doesnt look like...
I want to build an access point and I've been looking at mini-pci adapters.
I've been considering this item
http://www.demarctech.com/products/reliawave-rwj/reliawave-rwj-800mw-atheros-802.11g-mini-pci-card.html
I want to have a strong setup that will provide coverage to all floors of my...
Its kind of crude but it works. I need to get a damn drill press, drilling holes by hand and trying to be accurate is almost impossible. Anyway the idea is to have 2 boot drives and 2 zfs log device drives (when ssd becomes affordable). It still needs a few touchups but this is the general idea...
This is the chenbro ck13601 SAS expander
So I just got a bunch of drives from newegg and I'm putting them into a Norco 4020. I'm using an LSI 8801E Host bus adapter connected to the external port of a chenbro ck13601 sas expander to connect all the drives. I noticed a problem with some of...
In about a month I am going to buy about 9 drives and am trying to consider what to go for. I will be putting them in the norco 4220 using raidz2 (zfs software raid 6). I had a couple of questions.
First about capacity. I heard before that there were issues with the 1.5tb and 2tb models.
Is...
I am building a router and now need to choose a mini-pci wireless card.
What features should I be looking out for? Will any old card work or should one be looking out for certain things? I'd like to get something decent with a good range. Also support for draft n would be nice but not...
So I was looking at these Jetway boards http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=2#j7f2
I want to build a low powered network router, with wireless. These boards seem perfect because you can add a module to get 4 gigabit ports and then use the pci slot to add a wireless card.
So anyway I was...
I have a supermicro 846E1 in my rack and it is very loud.
It has 5 80mm 5000rpm internal fans . Those could probably be undervolted.
The real problem is the power supply fans. They are extremely loud.
The power supply has an smbus cable connected to the motherboard. What does this...
So I am building a file server. I am now thinking of using the cheap norco case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811219021
The motherboard is going to be inside of the case as well.
I basicly have 2 options for connecting the disks. I can use SATA or SAS
SATA...
I am looking at this SAS HBA
http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-USAS-L8i.cfm
The motherboard I am using is:
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon3000/3210/X7SBA.cfm
This motherboard has a pci-e x8 slot but it is not a uio slot. What is uio? Will the...
I am fighting the uphill battle of trying to get a 1u case with enough air flow that is quiet. I have a q9450 and am trying to cool it passively by using quiet blowers and a passive heatsink. I did a number of tests with different blower positions and results were suprising.
System Specs...
The SC846 cases
http://www.supermicro.com/products/chassis/4U/?chs=846
I had some questions and called SuperMicro
Notice how it says that the SC846E1-R900B and SC846E2-R900B only support SAS, while
the other supports both.
The TQ model does not have a SAS expander.
The other 2, the...
I am looking around for a rack mount SAS disk array and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
*Price Range: Under $1500
*Do not care about hardware raid, will not use it. However any hardware monitoring functions would be cool
*Rackmount
*More disks better, at least 15
*Redundant...
Recently I got my hands on 2 of these old scsi jbods
I gutted the scsi stuff out and am waiting for chenbro's ck12802 sas expander or an equivalent expander to be available that has 15 ports.
Anyway, one issue with this jbod is the power supplies. There are 2 redundant hotswap power...
I have a 1U server that I am planning to have running all the time.
It is a socket AM2 motherboard and I am running a 65W Athlon 64 X2 4400+
I currently have this cooler
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=25585&vpn=A48G&manufacture=DYNATRON
it is nice but loud as hell I wanted to...
I have a disk array that uses 2 5-1esata port multipliers.

I was looking at Lsi's SAS3801E:
http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/host_bus_adapters/sas_hbas/lsisas3801e/index.html
My question is this, if I got this...
Are there any power supplies out there that have a lot of sata connectors? I have a 9 drive enclosure.
If not, is it sufficent enough to just use the molex->sata power adapters? These drives will be hot swapped.
