It is amusing that the nv boys keep whining about being treated unfairly because the memory size, but fail to mention 570 has 320bit bus width vs 6950's 256bit.
It was the design decision by nvidia to use some non-standard aggressive memory bus width to make up for the inefficient core...
Every card has some kind of inconsistency, for example, the gtx 580 varies from losing to 6970 to 20% faster, that is just some stupid excuse made up by some dumb fan boy.
580 is more like a 485, 15% is not enough for those who bought the 480 to "upgrade", those who did not buy 480 would probably have no interest in 580, all those give you the impression "tons in stock" becausee it does not sell well.
A short while ago the nv fans can kid themselves by thinking fermi have "superior sli scale", it is now been proven false, if the 6800s are not hurting enough, the 6900s are coming within afew weeks.
The nv boys are getting desperate, grasping at straws, spare some forgiveness to them :(
5870 has the same playing performance as 480 except the crappy arma game, which 480 sli = 460 sli
what's with those whinners about the driver? do they just repeat the same BS like a parrot without using their brain?
Nvidia products always seem shady to me, they got caught cheating in games, they got busted for producing infeior gpus, heck its CEO can shameless lie to the public with some woddscrew cards, thats why I try to avoid their products.
The majority of the gpu bloatsx games are console ports.
When nvidia put its "dev effort"(the gpu bloatsx) in games, the performance hit is almost as big as your mom's ass, so most people just disable that rubbish to get the game running properly, that is where bloatsx fails.
I love it when the nvidia fanboys like you calling other fanboy and keep bragging about the so called professional market, it is like saying your gas hog car isn't shitty because the same auto manufacturer profits in building tank! that car must be awesome, that is beyond stupid.
Also when...
The "superior SLI" was just an illusion from nvidia boys grasping at straws because a glitch in ati driver, it is not in any way "superior" as it has been proved by recent reviews, stop kidding yourself.
Thats why the newest "offcial" driver on nvidia website is 2010.07.19 and has to throw countless beta crap to your face.
That is a way to shift responsibility, it is like "wow you have problem with our drivers? too bad, well that is beta, suck it on move on!"
it works in tricking some...
There is a lot of stupidity in this post,
1st, 470 or SLI performance are exagerrated by your mouth.
2nd, 5850 have not dropped much in price
3rd, most important,
Learn to think: the fermi cards are trying to catch up, the 5800 cards have been on market long before them, there is so such...
Do know that both 5850 and 5850 SLI are both faster 460 and 460 SLI, the difference is about $30 for a single card and $60 for SLI.
The 460 is poised in between 5830 and 5850, nothing more.
it seems like you can't read between the lines in formal/business correspondence
Nvidia said this "NVIDIA's official driver optimization's policy is to never introduce a performance optimization via .exe detection that alters the application's image quality, however subtle the difference."...
40% + @stock cooling is BS, 675 * 1.4 = 945, most of the review sites can only get it to around mid 800s, 40% is not a norm, so stop saying as if it is.
Good post. The "min fps" never make any sense. The frame variation is a much better method to gauge the problem. I am surprised most, if not all the review sites are too stupid to notice that.
Better "SLI" is just a hype up by nvidia chills, it is not a fact.
there are some games 460 sli perform as good as 5850 CF, but there are also games where 5870 CF do as good as 480 sli. Dont make yourself like a tard by saying xxx is better base on one game.
All hardware vendors impose the settings that they think good on users. That is called default settings. You can alwasy check that. ATI listed that change so that you know it is the driver changing instead your mom checking your computer, stop crying and move on.
I want to see how the older nvidia cards hold up, nvidia is well known for releasing cheat drivers that make the newer cards look good at the cost of older cards.
I too notice that the "nvidia drivers great" spam posts surge after Nvidia stock dropped to 12 month's low. Perhaps there is a relation between two. :D
Try controlling the hot steam coming from your arse, the only "blow-out" there is the Aliens vs. Predator, the ati solution dropped 100% when enabling 2x AA, which I believe it is more about bugs than anything, all other "apples to apples" are within the margin like how the single cards perform...
You are so out-dated, the LV bags that your mom and aunts have been dreaming for, the Chinese accounted for 39% for Louis Vuitton's total sales. Are you still wanking in your mom's basement? you should get out and see more.
Like I said in the last post, it can be the onboard video thing, the video chipset from nvidia. I would not be surprised that if the motherboard chooses the "better" nvidia card and uses the onboard video when it sees the ATI.
Perhaps the real cause does not matter to you anymore, but it can...
I thought EDID only affects the native resolution of the monitor.
This is the first time I hear that it can stop the monitor from displaying anything, the only reason that I can think of is because the monitor can't display at that particular resolution.
I just noticed that the OP is using...
