I actually system restored everything and got my user profile back. However, it seems like my computer is really slow. Going to run a virus scan and then probably take it to my it department to get them to backup my desktop and transfer it all to a new computer!

Sounds like windows can't find local profile and is logging me on with temp profile.

I'm looking under errors. Says service1, kernel event tracing, iastor, outlook , bonjour service ,user profile service and dhcp client and lms and sqlbrowser for last hour. What do I need to lock for and how do I fix this?

Actually, I just used some link from microsoft, and it is saying that my cd/dvd drive is not detected, however my green led light is always on on the drive. How do I go about seeing if all the wires are connected tight or how to make it read that I do have a cd/dvd drive?

I have a new HP dv 6000 and im trying to make my battery last as long as possible. What are you reccomendations. When the battery is full charged should I unplug it and let it "un charge itself"' or will it not hurt it to keep it plugged in? Thanks, Blake

I figured it out, I just had to remove the HP Advisor thing.

I did not install it, it came with the computer and I dont see it under control panel and programs.

How do I get that "yahoo search" thing off of the start menu down at the bottom?

I have tried everything. The router/modem combo does seem to be getting hot so maybe I will see since its overheating maybe it is causing it to loose signal and then come right back up.
