yeah, to be honest that laptop has, again, pretty much exactly the specs I want. But the freaken screen folds from 2 inches from the back, and it looks like it has a 'ba-donk-a-donk". That paired with how thick and angular it looks, its as if they really dont want me to buy it.
I really appreciate the advice that you guys have given me so far. I checked out the Lenenvo laptops, and they are pretty nice. Good style too, but they have a quatro gpu which if I am not mistaken is more optimized for intense applications.
To answer your questions about the style I...
Thanks newster, that computer does look like a jet fighter though, and not in a good way, hehe.
I guess I will post as per the norm and list all of my requirements/information:
I want a decent battery life of 2 hours or more.
I live in WA, USA.
My price range is 800-1500 USD
I...
Hi all,
I have a dream.
15-16" screen with a good resolution
460m GTX gpu
i5-520m proc (because I dont see a reason to spend the extra money on a i7, convince me otherwise)
These specs are easily obtainable at a number of compy customizers that I found on the internet including...
Hello guys
Here is my predicament,
My mobo (Soyo P4X400 lite: TERRIBLE btw) recently suffered a fatality. I am looking to buy a new mobo on newegg and was wondering if a standard Pentium 4 2.4 chip (not a prescott, no hyperthreading) would work in a motherboard designed for a Prescott. I am...
So i used to have this issue where sometimes a file would be corrupted and no matter how many times i downloaded it, it would be corrupted. Now, i found out that by connecting directly to my DSL modem rather than with my router (D-link DI-604), this problem never occurred. So i used to switch...
make it 4 in a mllion
i have an Epox 8kda3 j running at 1T...its a socket 754 nf3 board....or is this a socket 939 problem only? I never really heard about big trouble running at 1T before reading this thread :) its PMI memory currently OC'ed to 225MHz at 2-3-3-10-1T
Im running Verizon DSL in the Seattle area and i have a pretty serious problem. I can download just fine, ~60-85Kb/sec.. but if I try and upload even at 2Kb/sec I have problems loading webpages, pictures, or pretty much anything. My whole entire connection just gets all hosed up. We had a guy...
ok so here it is in a nutshell.
I RMA'd my mobo a couple weeks ago, got it back two days ago. Installed it with no problems, except of course that lame undervolting shit. Last night i updated the bios (5/14) to hopefully fix the issue. Upon reboot, my network controller in the device manager...
I am tired of my old laptop and its time for a gaming rig! This bad boy is pretty much the skinniest laptop ever at about 1in deep.
Specs:
Pentium 3 700mhz
320 MB RAM
12GB Hard Drive
Windows XP
Office XP
Docking Station
DVD Drive
IR port
TV out
Multiple USB ports
13" screen...
I guess i'll come out and be the first advocate of Nanotherm PCM+. If MBM5 reported my case temp at 27-28C when idle, my cpu temp would be at 29-30C (amd64 3000+@2350mhz, 1.6v). Otherwise it would idle at 32C.
However, when at full load, it would get up to 51C according to MBM, a pretty...
neither did i, man...got a castrated clawhammer...max OC is 2350mhz, and it isnt close to prime stable (but works for everything else)...but 2250mhz 1:1 is good enough for me...i've resigned myself to a meager overclock...gonna try and snag a 90nm 3000+ @ xmas time, though :)
I noticed this on newegg today for only $62 (+$7 shipping), and it seems like a good PSU, high +12v amps, shielded and sleeved connectors, etc blah blah...but i only found one pretty pitiful review on it from ClubOC. I am curious, do any of you guys know about better reviews out there, or about...
cool beans, more amperage. that is good to know...i've been lookin at getting a 430w for my other comp, the other one has gotta be on its last legs after this many years
- prime95 fails after a single minute, but i have no problems running programs, the system seems quite stable 24/7 (although i've heard this error is caused by AMD's C&Q feature...gonna check it out)
- sometimes when playing games, like right after a level loads mostly, the entire computer will...
man you are tearing me to pieces today ice czar...
legitreviews and cluboc had a review on it, and so did ... extremepc or some site like that...anyway, thats just what i heard. the epower PSUs ARE made by Tagan, though.
i was looking at those Epower PSUs just yesterday...i'm tempted to get the "Cheetah" or "Jaguar" 450w models, i've read several good reviews on the Jaguar, plus the dedicated VGA connector is a great idea, i think.
So i got myself a Tt 420W PSU a few weeks ago and recently i have noticed that MBM5 and SiSoft Sandra 2004 are BOTH reading my 3.3v rail at 1.60v and my 12v rail at ~TEN volts!!! So i plug in my old Antec 400w from this old server computer i had, and now i've booted up and get the SAME EXACT...
I like my $200 Samsung 997DF...shadow mask it is, but i'm not one of those crazy photo people who can tell the difference between 15 million colors and 14.9 million...or something. It works great for me and i like the grey and black casing...
i got a Clawhammer version of the 3000+ CG, and i can only get the thing to 2350 (stable)at .05v over stock voltage...i tried doing a really high fsb with a lower multiplier (for a total of 2350mhz still) and it wouldnt post...i want a newcastle :(
And i have an SLK948U as well...that was an...
damn, i used to have a K6-2 400mhz on an Asus P5A as well! And to think i ran at stock for its lifespan...i'm ashamed, don't look at me. But then again, i didn't even know what FSB was. I wish i still had her, now...she served me well for the shit i gave 'er.
Now, before i get into things, i am posting this here because my friends are all saying "its hot because you are overclocking blah blah" and such things. But now that i think about it, this might fare better in the motherboard section. But its too late now since im just editing the topic at...
for the people (or just one person) who wanted temperature comparisons...i have an 8KDA3J and an A64 3000+@2350mhz (1.6 vcore...stock is 1.55, right? not 1.5...?),
SLK-948U, 92mm Sunon 45cfm fan
anyway...my idle temps in the morning (when its not 70-90F outside ... and hotter inside because...
i woulda bought this in an instant 3 weeks ago...but now i got my own system...not as good, mind you, but i am now out of money...i have the exact same processor too, its just not a mobile...evreything else in cpu-z is exactly the same...and yet i can only get to 2350mhz prime stable @1.6v...i...
the Epox 8kda3j is also a good NF3 250 mobo for only ~$100. I'm using one right now, and the only thing holding me back from an awesome overclock is my castrated clawhammer cpu. As it is, though, im still running my 3000+ at 2359mhz
im wondering if you would be willing to part it out...i would like the jetset radio/segagt disc, the two S-controllers, and the xbox, but im not interested in the DVD kit or other games....
Just wondering if its normal for my A64 [email protected] to jump up that much when under load...i mean i notice alot of people with similar idle temps getting load temps of mid to high 40s, but i get a 15C increase from idle to load w/ an slk-948u. I'm wondering if maybe my TIM application wasn't...
just to let you all know, i tried this last night, successfully flashing the bios, reinstalling 61.77 drivers, and overclocked to Ultra speeds and its doing great so far. 3dmark03 ran w/o a hitch, rthdribl ran fine and the core temp went from 55 to 84 after about 10-15 min of it running at...
