Just got the federal back, so when I get my paycheck this upcoming Friday, I'll hopefully be ordering the new parts. Here's what it looks like:

So yeah, if anyone's got...
I'm finalizing my build list for my upcoming build, but one thing's got me pulling my hair out. From what I'm reading, it's pretty hard to pick a HSF for this board. Either the microtransisters on the bottom create a problem or the north bridge HS create a problem. I've been eying the Tuniq...
Anyone else done this themselves?
I didn't want to move my speaker system to the TV because there wasn't really a cheap way to get my music on my computer to the receiver at the TV. The first day I got my Xb360, I got it all networked up and have it sharing the media with my computer. Came...
Alright, who else picked it up today?
I snagged my copy this morning before class. Gonna cut out of HTI+ a little early to commence the jammin'...
Here's the reference thread over at head-fi:

If you're looking into entry-level hi-fi, these are definatly worth a look. There are also links to a couple other threads from other forums in the same link.
So I was at work today and our MS rep came in with a new promo sheet for our product binder. What do I see on it? A wireless adapter which attaches to the PC via USB which supports the 360 wireless controllers, upcoming wireless headset, and upcoming wireless wheel. I was overjoyed. But he said...

The thought of a real tennis game just excites the crap out of me. Not only that, I pretty much feel forced to buy Twilight Princess to get a piece of the hot action.
So with Oblivion due out in less than 3 weeks, I've come to the conclusion that getting a 360 gamepad for my PC has come to it's due time. Now, Gamestop is running a sale on their/Pelican's 360 controller. Has anyone used a 3rd party with their PC? I'd guess it works being that it's probably the...
Well, I've gotten through three missions so far, and dang am I dissapointed.
First off, the checkpoint system is crap. It takes way too long to hit a checkpoint and there's typically only one per level. Personally, I think there needs to be 2-4 checkpoints per level, but maybe thats just me...
Mark Schifter over at av123 made a pretty hefty comment about an upcoming product:
I'm excited to hear more about this. Perhaps wireless speakers will become as good as, or better in some aspects, than their wired variants.
The consumer or the retailer?
I work at a local game store. I've been hearing a lot about the shortage of systems lately, mainly to brace for impact. We were recently told we were getting a very, very small amount of systems. We've already told some customers about the issue, and it's not...
I've searched and I've searched, googled and googled, and I cannot find that tutorial for adding the 64-bit content to the 32-bit version. Can anyone point the way?
I have an Onkyo TX-SR302 receiver. I am planning on buying a set of Fluance speakers this holiday season, and was curious if the a-b channels allow you to bi-amplifi the front speakers. I know it's probably not the case, but I thought I'd ask before considering some rack-amps to bi-amplifi.
I've made a post at Head-Fi, but I figured there might be some here that'll throw in their 2 cent.
Right now, I've got the HD201 (and my Panasonic RP-HJE50's, my portables). Well, I've given into the Head-Fi curse and have decided to save up some denero for some cans at no more than $165...
Alright, my parents just purchased me an Onkyo TX-SR302 5.1 receiver for one of my graduation presents. As I understand it, using a digital connection would benefit me because it would rely on the receiver to process the sound instead of the sound card itself. Do I have this right? Also, would...
I've seen a lot of wicked Foobar2000 configs on the HydrogenAudio forums. Here's an example:
Pure butter. :)
Is there any config out there on how to set up the columns like this? I have no experience with such things, and was just wondering if there was something to help me get...
Soon I'm gonna be graduating from high school, so my parents and I were talking about graduation gifts. I mentioned one gift I want is an MP3 player.
Because they're offering to buy other gifts as well, I'd like to get an MP3 player at no more than $200. I've really been eyeing the Rio Karma...
I've seen some people say that they've loved some of the budget canal phones there are out there. I've been considering some so I can get back to using my discman until I buy an MP3 player. I've been looking mainly at the Sony EX71S and the Panasonic RP-HJE50. If possible, I'd like to spend no...
Last night I got the chance to cut and terminate my speaker wire cables after work. Got it right my first time trying! :) So I connected the speakers, threw on a CD in my shatty Sony CD deck (which will be destroyed Office Space style soon as this setup is connected to my computer), and WOW...
Alright, I got my new speaks. Tommorow, I'll be terminating speaker wire and giving them a test-run with the crap Sony CD deck I have hooked to it. Now, my question:
I can connect these pins:
into these connectors:
Correct? If not, I can buy some different connectors, no...
Is there anyone who has teh 100w Dayton subwoofer that could snap a pic of the back (amplifier) for me? I'd like to see if it has binding posts for speakers such as this sub has:
Alright, I've begun saving up for my venture into the world of HiFi (these Logi's really aint cuttin' it anymore). Now, my reciever is an older Yamaha RX-300U. So, being old and all, it doesnt have an input for the subwoofer. Here's the back connections:
(Sorry for the crappy pic, it's...

Well, since I'll have to save up some money between my tax money and paychecks, I've got some more time to scope out good bookshelf speakers and hot deals.
A friend of mine has a Cerwin Vega sound setup. He claims excellent sound quality and suggested I look into their offerings. I...
It's cheap and it's old, but you cant beat the price! I remembered my aunt had an old receiver, speakers and CD deck, so I asked her about it. She said I could take the stuff, but I'd have to clean it off. Here are my prospects:
Yamaha RX-300U Stereo Receiver
2 x Yamaha NS-10M Bookshelf...
Well, I've had the X-530s for about 2 months now, and I feel starved. So, I've been considering maybe getting a different set by May. I'm looking at the Z5300e's right now, and damn they're making me drool. However, I'm new to the arena of audiophilia, so my question is this: What's my best bet...
I'm gonna be doing a Gentoo install soon (stage 1  ), but one things got me worried. I'll be needing a good media player. What's the best? I've seen XMMS used most commonly, but it lacks a library (important to me)...
I've tried everything, running Print Spooler, spoolsv.exe, and making sure it's checked in MSConfig. However, it still wont start, which sucks cause I've got stuff I need to print. Anyone know anything? Running AVG check as I type.
I was attempting to change the IP of my Netgear RP614, so I used CMD to "ipconfig/release" and then "IPConfig/renew". It allowed me to release, but it doesnt allow me to renew! Every time I attempt to, it claims it's timed out trying to connect to the DHCP server and that the media isnt...
Alright, I've been hard at work trying to get the SBC DSL shared to my 'rent's computer, but I'm having trouble. Here's my layout: I've got the DSL connected to my onboard NIC and supplying my comp with the direct connection. I've got another cable plugged into a NIC card in my PCI slot and...
Now I'm just pissed. Earlier we get a phone call while my dad is surfing the net. Well, after the phone call finishes, our DSL connection is lost! I check the modem and see that the "Internet" light is blinking, while the DSL and Ethernet light are solid. So I decide to consult SBC's "Friendly...
Well, I got the Logitech X-530s and been enjoying the goodness for a while now, and I'm gonna bite and trade up the crappy onboard sound for some real hardware. Now, what sound card should I be looking at? I've been wanting an Audigy 2 Value (Audigy 2 w/out the firewire port), but I've heard of...
Who has them or has heard them? I'm getting them as a cheap replacement for my "Inland Pro Surround" speakers (2.0s and a little generic). The Z-640s were excellent for their price, but does anyone know how good these are?
I went ahead and got a (red) MX510 and a USB Elite. For those who've got/had either or, what do you think? Any great things about them that'll make me feel like I spent my $62.87 well?
Well, I got HL2 but I've been being pissed off lately. The studdering is every few seconds and makes part of the airboat mission almost impossible. This is after:{
-Defragging
-Installing the patch thats supposed to fix the studdering
-Freeing up resources
-Lowering some settings
And...
I'm gonna be buying HL2 this weekend, but one thing's got me worried. For those who've got 56k and bought retail: how long did it take to set up via steam? I understand theres some files and the new patch, so I'm curious how long I'll have to twiddle my thumbs before I can actually play the game.
With the holiday season coming up, I'll be buying a few things, including a new mouse and mousepad. I've been looking into a couple selections:
-Razer Diamondback
-Razer Viper (if the price goes down as a result of the diamondback's release)
-Logitech MX510
I've also been looking at the...
I'm thinking of picking up a Chaintech AV-710 pretty soon, and I'd like to know where I can find the Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 firmware file so I can flash it.
Anyone?
I'm fixing to buy the Chenmin 602 come christmas season, as it's the best price:performance I've seen so far personally. My problem is the power switch connector:
It's a 3-pin block with a gap in the middle of the two. Problem is, my mobo's IO connection spot for the power switch is a...
