Gigabyte DS3 dead?

I used to get cold boots when using the F10 bios. I flashed it to F7 and the cold boot went away.

Today, I flashed it back to F10 and it worked fine. When I went into the bios to try to overclock, it gave me a cold boot again. Using a jumper to clear the CMOS does nothing. When booting, it still shows nothing but black, no beeps, nothing. I heard that you can clear it by removing the battery but how do you remove it? Do you remove only the silver battery or the black thing holding the battery too?

Is there any hope or is it dead? Should I RMA to Newegg or gigabyte?

What do you mean by cold boot?

Yea, you remove the battery and put the jumper the 3-4 instead of 1-2 for 15 or more seconds and pop it back in.

I mean cold boot as in, nothing happens. The fans spin and the computer is on but there is nothing on the screen and no sound.

Just pull the battery out of the board. Leave the black retainer there. Make sure you don't have your PSU plugged into the wall either when you take out the battery. Should default back to normal.

Resetting memory, video card, PCI-Cards, resetting CMOS through a jumper, battery, nope. Stupid Gigabyte with their cold boot ptoblems.

Is mine dead also? Last nite it was fine but today when I turn it on, all i heard is a clicking sound which I cant seem to pin point to and the CPU fan is not running? It was fine for over 3 monthes. I have the 2.0 of the motherboard. Can newegg give me exchange/rma after 3 months or should I get a new one?

I'm also wondering in Newegg accepts REPAIR rmas *months* after I purchased something off them. (technically I guess no since they're 1 month policy - but has anyone had any luck?)

the motherboards just suck, they all do this, I've had 2 do this now.. the internet is covered with problems, I suggest returning for a new board if you can.

Yea man. Once I get a new baord, Imma sell it on Ebay.

Here's the posts we failed to see before we purchased one.

Sorry to here Gigabyte has taken another victim. It's a shame its going to cause another person just as many problems... hopefully you'll warn them you had issues.

I'm considering breaking my DS3 over my knee, and mailing it back to gigabyte corporate public relations with a letter I've written about how disgusted I am with the product.

I would break mine but it would be impossible to remove the backplate to the Tuniq Tower
:( and get something like exotic or intel something

They have a 1 year RMA service not 1 month.

This makes me SO HAPPY! I didn't realize some parts were covered longer than 30 days, and sure enough, I load up my innovice from 8/25/06 and the Gigabyte DS3 can be replaced! Newegg is so kickass.

umm I dont think it has 1 year through newegg, 1 year through gigabyte maybe. If newegg really has 1 year warranty, thats absurd. I dont know too many stores that have longer than 30 days.

Well, I submitted it, and it was approved immediatly! Though I am sending it back for repair/replacement and not refund. It's not eligible for refund at this point (probably because it was $145 when I bought it as opposed to $120 now)

All I have to do is ship it out now.
