Thanks BlueSun looks nice and good price, except it looks like that cooler will cover my PCIe port on my motherboard.
I can't seem to find any decent coolers for the H81 boards
Hey guys - been a long time since posting on here. I built a desktop PC for my garage (don't ask) and had a big old chieftec (thing antec knock off) full tower, but since I put together a small cheap MSI H81M-P33 V2 mATX board and mini tower case, I now have to be careful choosing a cooler...
I too have an i7 920 on an EVGA X58 classified, all water cooled and running reliably at 4.1 - 4.2GHz without issue with 12GB RAM and tri-SLI GTX 580s. Debating on upgrading. Leaning toward not worth it though.
Does anyone make a laptop with a serial port these days? Toughbooks are outside of my budget but if I could find a laptop with a serial port for like $350 - $550 I would LOVE it. Anything out there?
Good read! I too joined the 30" club with the LG W3000H!
Upgraded from a 22" Dell widescreen LCD - this is MUCH nicer. The colors are beautiful and the clarity....... cant even explain!
Think a Q6600 and Thermaltake 700 or 750w PSU are enough for an 8800 GTX 295? I may want to use my 8800 GTX as a physics card if possible. Do I have enough juice?
Yeah trying to open it in IE.
I get:
Microsoft DRM software error
Your Microsoft Digital Rights Management software is not working properly and needs to be reset.
To resolve this issue, please call Netflix technical support at 1-866-402-2616, or contact technical support here and...
Not sure if the 3008 is S-IPS or not, but this W3000H is 3000:1, 5ms, and so on. Seems like a better deal than the 3008 and is less $ (and looks beautiful!)
Native resolution is important - its the only resolution where things look like they should! I have a ton of people in my company who run 22" monitors (1680x1050 native) at like 1200x800 and think it looks "good". It kills me! I had one guy go from a 17" CRT to a 22" Dell widescreen and then...
So I picked up an LG 30" display for my PC - its great. It has totally changed how I work on my PC.
BUT
I subscribe to Netflix and love the Instant Watch feature... however Instant Watch will not work if my resolution is at 2650x1600! I found that if I lower to like 1200x800 it will run...
I too have an LG W3000H and I love it. I don't notice the "sparkle" effect you speak of and do a fair amount of web design/admin work so I sit at white screens a bunch. It seems super fast - I don't notice any lag in CS:S. The only problem I have is with Netflix not playing when at...
I got this unit because I read up on LG being one of the leading (if not the leading) innovators of S-IPS panels. The response time is very low and the contrast is high, sounds like a nice unit. It was like $1100 less $50 or so on New Egg. I got it shipped from Newegg free 3 day shipping, but...
Anyone got one of these? I just picked up an LG W3000H (i think, the LG 30") and looking for a mount. I can't tell if this screen will work with an arm or not, I think it will. I had a Ergotron on my Dell 22" it was nice. Still have the Ergotron, gotta sell it or use it elsewhere.
Forgive me! I love stuff that works well and stuff that looks pretty, so some of the Mac hardware fits my ticket. I am not sure if its the mac wall paper or not, I think the mac one has different color anenomes but I love clown fish :(
Its actually a mac keyboard - my logitech G9 plugs...
Yeah my desk is 59" long and like 29 or 30" deep so it fits "well". You definitely notice the size though when you come in the room.
I think I can hold off on the GTX 295 - I play TF2 and CS:S a little bit, and race sims some. I want to get into Crysis and all but I couldnt play that very...
So nice! I jumped in a CS:S game and cranked it to 2650x1600 and it played very smooth with everything maxed. I have an 8800GTX EVGA card. Was going to get this monitor or a GTX 295, but since Newegg didnt have the GTX 295 in stock and I was antsy, I pulled the trigger on this and don't...
There is a temperature sensor right on the motherboard at the socket. I have my system water cooled with a 3x120mm rad and a 2x120mm rad and the only thing in the loop is the Q6600 - i don't know how people with vid/nb/sb/etc in their smaller loop are reading the 33 - 35c temps I am seeing as...
But how am I to "ignore that CPU temp figure" when it seems your system is using something similar. I mean, I have a per core reading and a CPU as a whole reading... shouldn't you also ignore the single CPU reading?
is there such a thing as "too much" uv dye?
I have a 10ml vial of alien green from Petras, and it looks good using clear tubing, but I only used about 1/2 of the vial, but my loop has about 1 liter of fluid! So my loop has < 0.5% UV dye. Can I add the other 5 ml? Can I add more?
When reporting temps, I am using a evga 680i and Everest w/ a Q6600 quad core. When reporting temps, and people say "My system idles at..." are they talking about "CPU Temp" or "Core temp"?
Having a Quad core, I have core temps of like 40, 40, 38, 39c, but my "CPU Temp" is 34c.
So, are...
What would the T afford me?
I was thinking that I will pick up a Fuzion is I can find one (wtf why are they out of stock where can i get one?) and add a 3x120 or 4x120 radiator fan on the underside of the case and put it on casters. Then, if I want, I can add the GPU to the loop.
Worst case is I'll replace the CPU block/pump/resevoir. I don't like how trashy most water cooler setups look with radiators screwed to the back or hanging out the top
Nah it fit back together perfect as it came out. I only left the drive cages out because I forgot to bring them to the shop.
The coating is like 1 mil thick, so it doesn't hang any parts. The door comes off normally, etc. The nice part about coating is that you can't really "do too much"...
Don't know why you'd say that - looking at all of the kits available that are "so great" have lower LPH flow pumps, same radiator size/quality, and same hosing diameter. The BigWater 745 gets good reviews with its same setup and 400L/H pump. The Armor LCS has the same 240x120mm rad with a...
Hey all - I powdercoated my antec case and have the coolermaster Mini R120 in there... but I want to make sure I have more than enough cooling and they say the Mini R120 isn't expandable.
So, although I can't really afford it after building my system, I bought the Thermaltake Armor LCS with...
Here are just some images of the project completed.
I have a blemish there that I will re-coat. Otherwise, I am happy with how it came out inside and out.
I have monitored my CPU temps - I idle around 47C and i peak around 60 - 62C with the CPU @ 3.0GHz
I used to be into ATI (my previous card is a ATI X800 XT) but honestly ATI seems a little weaksauce in all the reviews. I'll be getting a second 8800 GTX as pay checks come in, but for now this...
Hey all - I have just built a new system:
Quad Core Q6600
4GB G.Skill Ram
eVGA 680i (NF68-A1)
and eVGA 8800GTX 768MB
Everything is good I have the Quad @ 3.0GHz and everything is fast. However, the video card gets DAMNED hot. I mean if I pop the side panel off of my case, the radiant...
