Just to confirm, are you running at 2560 x1600 on your PC and is the speaker bar attached? Try the setting with the speaker bar attached first and then power off, disconnect the speaker bar and connect your Creative speakers back. Not sure if this function only works with the speaker bar or not.
Gooch,
First, turn on the PIP, then go to Main Menu->Audio->Audio Source then select PIP Audio. After you move the arrow to PIP Audio, you will need to touch the select button. If you don't have the PIP enabled, the Audio Source function will be grayed out. Now, when you have PIP on, you...
You should check out the thread on the new Gateway XHD3000 display. It will be comming out in a few weeks and has multiple video and audio inputs and is NOT limited to dual-link graphic cards only. You can connect single link DVI, VGA, HDMI, Component, Composite and S-Video to this display...
That's a PANEL gamut improvement only. The brighness drops as well to 300nits and you STILL can't connect anything other than Dual-Link DVI to these panels.
Yea, but you would not be able to connect anything other than a PC with a Dual-Link DVI connection to the Samsungs .... no such restrictions with the Gateway 30 ... This display really is for those that want one display that can do it all ... maximum PC desktop resolution and video / CE...
No connection with Gateway here ... I just happen to have owned two previous Gateway displays (21" and 24") and have been happy with them. I wanted to pass on the info on the 30 because I came across it at CEDIA and thought that people would want to get a pre-release take on the display. I...
I don't know of ANY WAY to use an external HD tuner box and have it output WQXGA (2560x1600) into the Dell 30 ... the Dell can only take this as it has no scalar in the display. In my opinion, I can see using this display in my office as the one and only uber-monitor. I can hook up my PC, HD...
There is NO comparison between the Gateway 30 and the Dell / Apple / HP / Samsung 30W displays. They only have dual-link DVI as their only input (you can't connect anything other than a PC with a dual-link graphics card). The Gateway 30 on the other hand has all the inputs (Dual/Single Link...
You would have to assume that this monitor was developed WAY before the Acer acquisition (which hasn't even been consumated yet!!). I think that after the merger, Acer products will remain the same and Gateway will continue to have more advanced features. Per all the stuff I have read on-line...
Absolutely not ... as I said in my original post, HD and SD content looked fantastic scaled to native panel res (2560 x 1600). This is because Gateway is using the Silicon Optix Realta HQV processor. Check out www.hqv.com ... this chip is VERY powerful.
I have a Gateway 24 and never had a problem with it. I game, surf and use it as a small HD TV in my office ... Looking forward to upgrading to the 30. Time to clear out the clutter on my desk!!!
I looked at it from left and right maybe 70 deg or so and didn't notice any off axis viewing issues. I was told that the panel is PVA type so it must mean that it is Samsung. As for ghosting, I played Bioshock a bit and didn't notice any ghosting issues.
Hey Guys,
I was at CEDIA in Denver last week and came across this gem in the Silicon Optix booth. This was the most AMAZING display I have ever seen. It GREATLY surpasses the Apple, Dell and HP 30" displays as it can not only take Dual-Link DVI (required for 2560x1600), but it can take...
Silly question, but are you using the USB cable that came with the monitor or one that you had lying around? Do you have another PC or notebook to try the hub out on. It seems suspcious that two consecutive montiors have the same USB hub issue.
It seems that you have activated the OSD menu lock feature. I stumbled upon this while playing with the integrated product tour. Here's how to lock and unlock the OSD.
To Lock the OSD :
With the monitor off, turn it on. Notice the location of the button closest to the vertical slider...
Did you pick up the speaker bar? I also heard that you can get it with a discount thru HSN plus free shipping. There's a comment several pages back in this thread.
Did you try going into your display control panel applet and adjusting the refresh rate on the Gateway 24 display? This may be...
Your best bet is to use the included EzTune application and run the Wizard. This will guide you to adjusting settings to your liking. Note, if you are using Vista, you will need to download the updated version at : http://www.portrait.com/dtune/gwy/enu/upgrade.html
Good luck,

Auto and Geometry settings are only applicable to VGA input. DVI and other video inputs do not need them. The monitor is working correctly. All LCDs with DVI interfaces behave this way.

Try running the Display Diagnostic Utility (found in the EzTune Program Group) and choose the option to Clean Registry. Then ReEnumerate. Reboot then see if it finds the monitor.

Click the Check for Update button in the help tab and download Version 1.4. You'll need to uninstall 1.3 first. You will now get the auto-rotation features along with the other features that are in EzTune 1.3 plus a cool new GUI ....
Regarding dual-link cables ... they are NOT better than single-link cables. The purpose of dual link cables is to support modes up to 2560 x 1600 (Apple Cinema 30 and Dell 30).
Note, this monitor ships with the DVI cable included, so there is no need to buy another one. If you are not gaming, but want to connect digitally, they should get an entry level card such as the GS7300 or maybe an ATI X1300 or X1600.

You simply need to go to the monitor Video Settings and change the scaling setting to 1:1 ... you'll now get letterboxed 1080p (small black bars top and bottom). Some users sometimes see a horizontal tear in the video. The solutions is to do an AUTO (from the mini-menu) or turn the monitor on...
When you connect this monitor to your PC, Windows will read the EDID from the display. The EDID contains what resolutions the display supports. The video driver will then adjust accordingly to allow you to set to all of the supported 16:10 and 4:3 resolutions. If you don't see these, then the...
Nice setup ... you'll like the stands you get for the 22W's ... in addition to the height adjustability, you'll also get a 4 port powered USB 2.0 hub as well. Question, how are you driving 3 displays with your Mac? Does the Mac support dual video cards?

If you are getting the sound bar, it has RCA style L/R audio input (red and white connectors) directly in the rear of the speakerbar. You can connect the PS3 audio into that one. For the 360, you can get a 3.5mm female to R/L female RCA at Radio Shack to use the PC audio input for your 360...
The version with the H at the end is for sale in Canada only. This version has dual language packaging with English / French (as required by law). I don't think that there is any functional difference with the USA version.
For all those having issue with the font being too small ... you can also use IE 7.0's scaling function as well. If you look in the lower right hand corner of the page, you will see a magnfiying glass with 100% ... click the arrow next to it and you can adjust the font size. In addition, all...
