Thanks for the reply. Not sure about the SPD.
Yes I get no beeps with no ram/vidcard. I bought a new mobo thinking that was the most likely culprit and have the same issue.
I think I need to start over at square one and go through all of these steps again maybe on both motherboards. I...
RAM is GSkill in my sig. I'm having the same problem with two different motherboards. I took the RAM out just to see if my motherboard would give me any beeps/response with just the PSU/CPU/heatsink/fans. No response or beeps, just powers up the shuts down then repeats. Didn't work with the...
Problem: Computer wouldn't post/boot. Monitor/keyboard/mouse not recognized. Would power up then shut down then power up, etc.
Ordered a new Gigabyte UD3P thinking my mobo was dead. Installed. Same problem as above with only PSU/CPU/heatsink/fan/RAM. No beeps just powering up then...
OK if I'm doing this correctly I'm getting voltages of
9v yellow
2.5v red
1.5v orange
So it looks like it's my PSU eh? This is with a non-digital meter.
How do I test the PSU? Unfortunately I don't have an extra one around. I used a paper clip between pins 14/15 and the PSU powered up and fans came on... this was with motherboard removed. This is the only thing I could find on the forums about testing a PSU. Anything else I can do to test...
Tried this morning pulling out the ram... no beeps at all. It powers up... no beeps... shuts down... repeats. Just the essentials plugged in. Pretty much runs for a few seconds and shuts down. Any thoughts?
The problem is this is the exact issue I was facing with my last motherboard...
Thinking my previous motherboard went out, I just installed a new Gigabyte UD3P with system below. My computer won't boot... monitor, mouse, keyboard won't respond/aren't recongnized.
Powers up, fans run, dvd lights up and that's about it. After it sits for about a minute or two it...
I'm at work and can't do a measurement but the thermochill pa is thick (50mm if I remember correctly - please correct me if I'm wrong). I have a Swiftech 120.2 (34mm) up there like Dutt and there is some space between the radiator and the top mesh. I think you would be cutting it very close...
I have my cpu watercooled so I needed a little different airflow to keep my NB and memory cool. I have the front and back fans as intakes and the top two fans as exhaust. Working well for me.
EDIT: After further testing I have switched the back fan to exhaust - cpu temps went up with it as...
Lol, I'm sure it happens to a lot of us - I thought it was just me. Building my recent comp I received a E6600 (RMA) with a defective contact pad, basically scratched off, GTS (RMA) secondary to fan trouble, fan controller with a burned out resistor... but I've been on a little lucky streak...
Yeah one of my panels was like this... seemed to bulge in the center a bit. I, VERY CAREFULLY ;), held the ends and flexed it until it bowed a tad in the opposite direction and it fits pretty flush now. Be careful thought, it bends very easily. I don't think there is anything wrong with the...
Once you remove the housing the two screws on the top and bottom will allow you to remove the mesh exposing the fan for easy removal. I've removed this housing a couple of times and it gets easier every time.
Good choices, all of those fans. I'm using the Yate Loons with the Silverstone FP-33 fan controller. Fits in my floppy drive space. I have also mounted a second one in an expansion slot on the back of my case. Each controller comes with both mounting options. Works very well and is solidly...
It is a matter of taking a small screwdriver and getting the screws out... harder to put back in but not impossible. Would be easier with a magnetic screwdriver but I don't own one that small.
Same fan. The rear one only has a 3 pin if I remember correctly.
It all depends. The stock...
The mesh isn't extremely restrictive imho. I had a couple of undervolted yate loons acting as exhaust and could feel quite a bit of airflow. I would try your fans first and then replace them if you see temperatures rising beyond what you desire. The top fans just snap in so they're extremely...
So I convinced my wife to let me buy a new monitor... :) Just powered up the 3007 (rev a04) and, like many other first impressions here, this screen is huuuge.:D
My wife is going to kill me when she sees this thing.
I think I'll go put on some extra underwear and prepare for the flogging...
I'm still kind of a noob at all this. When I first built this rig, I would run TAT and see the speedstep drop me to 1600MHz. Now it always runs at 2400MHz... I don't remember turning it off lol.
Everything I run now... CoreTemp, Speedfan, TAT always shows 2400MHz. I haven't played with...
Thanks for the help all. I have finished my first loop. :D
Apogee GT
MCR220 QP
D5 pump
MicroRes reservoir
7/16" ID tubing
No overclocking (...yet - E6600). Want to make sure everything is stable first. CoreTemp is giving me idle temps in the mid 20s. TAT shows loads around 40.
Thanks. My CPU is watercooled so I should have plenty of room. I don't want to go to the trouble of adding a NB block to the loop hence I'm going to try one of these.
I guess all in all these will perform similarly, I just like reading some opinions before I hit "submit order". The Swiftech...
I'm looking to replace the stock NB cooler on my BadAxe2. Specifically I would like any BadAxe owners/users to comment on replacement options. The two coolers in the title are the ones that I have entertained purchasing - any favorites? I have also looked at the Swiftech MCX159. I'm pretty...
Not a very straight forward solution to water cool this case. This is the way I'm doing mine - look towards the end of the post. (When I get the time... grrr).
