In Win 904
In Win have been making some really interesting cases in the last few years, a lot of them have been bloody expensive. The 904 however looks within reach for everybody :) Retailers in EU have listed it for pre order, delivery expect in early-mid December. 180 or £150 inc. tax, so...
The press release in Japanese: http://www.eizo.co.jp/press/archive/2013/NR13_025.html

CX271 is available in three versions targeted at prepress, professional photo, and video production.
Would it be possible for the forum software to automatically strip the IMG tags from post quotes?
I note that previous threads have been posted in Help and Feedback regarding auto resizing which is deemed unnecessary, the alternative suggested is to report nuisance posts but that sometimes...
The latest In Win special edition has been listed in retail at a few German and EU stores priced 1290 inc. VAT  That's just over £1100 for the UK, and if you take off the 19% VAT, then convert it works out as $1450 for the USA! I believe that's more than the Thermaltake BMW Level 10...
The article from WinBeta: Alleged Windows 9, Windows 10, Windows RT and Windows Phone details emerge (rumor)
Without really knowing the implications I find the idea quite repugnant and my gut instinct is if this happens then Windows 9 (or maybe even windows 7) will be my last Microsoft OS - as...
Scythe SCY-RK2CS05 @ Scythe Japan
This caught my eye at Cowcotland, it's in French so the article as translated by Google says:
It looks really interesting!
ChipHell (in Chinese) has a good report on this very nice looking case with lots of great photos (go to the Chiphell article for many more.) A few interesting notes:
The glass side panel is an included option
40mm fan on PSU is apparently slow spinning and quiet (not sure whether to believe...

Original report on EXP Review: http://www.expreview.com/24738.html (in Chinese)
Very unusual design, maybe even unique? It will be certainly be interesting to see how it performs.
M500s are in stock and shipping from various stores (in Europe at least) but I don't see any reviews yet. I would've thought at least one of AnandTech, or StorageReview would be quick to publish, anyone know if there is an NDA that has to lift before reviews are published? any other websites...

New 4:3 displays are rare, so this one might interest a few people. Unfortunately it's not yet on the EIZO Global Flexscan S product...
Has anyone tested either CG276 or CX270, or seen a review that uses SMTT to test?
Prad tested the CG246 and measured 10ms latency (excluding pixel response times.) Not bad for this type of display with all the image processing going on, but it's more latency than ideal. Perhaps the 27" are...
Gameranx - SimCity: EA Refuses Refunds, Threatens Customer With Origin bans
Incredible customer service from EA. Want a refund for a game that doesn't work? Not satisfied with the offer of a 15% off coupon? Well if you dispute it your Origin account can be banned instead.
Nice job EA.

The objective of this poll is to try and extrapolate from the NCASE M1 popularity how much interest there would be in a premium quality SFX PSU if it were manufactured and sold by Seasonic. If it were an equivalent quality to Seasonic's ATX Platinum, Platinum Fanless or X-Series I think it would...
...and set it to be checked by default?
Some forums have a checkbox to search by titles only on the search this forum and search this thread drop downs, and often it's checked by default. I prefer this system as usually I search by titles only as it tends to result in a narrower, more useful...
N.B. the PSUs aren't included, I just mentioned them in the thread title to highlight the three size options:
The photo was posted on a pc-cooling.de's facebook page, their comments as translated by google say:
the feet at the back were not attached before the photo (so they aren't...
LG press release
99% aRGB might be the only downside, but could this display offer bezeless 'multi-screen' gaming? will the odd resolution(s) be a problem? I can see the 21:9 ratio appealing to some gamers, particularly racing fans, but maybe it won't be so interesting for those who prefer...
Before anyone says "how ****ing much?!" I'd like to point out that these are very high end broadcast/mastering monitors and the price is absolutely typical of these types of display. If you take into account inflation these are 'cheap' relative to the old Sony 28" 1000 line CRT mastering...
Anyone doing much retro gaming on their LCDs? I'd like a new monitor with good IQ for all round use inc. work and modern games, that would work reasonably well for some of the old RPGs like the original Fallout and the Bioware games.
The common resolutions I remember using on the CRT are of...
New Noiseblocker fans just appeared on Caseking.de today! I don't know anything about them but they look very interesting, especially the B12-PS that is specified as 400rpm-1500rpm
Noiseblocker web page for these is in German only at the moment: http://www.noiseblocker.de/eLoop120.php B12-1 ...
http://www.silentpcreview.com/Fan_Roundup_6_Scythe_Noiseblocker_Antec_Nexus_Thermalright
No surprises, but conscientious testing and good data reaffirms what we know, and the inclusion of the TY-150 is interesting. Fans tested:Nexus D12SL-12
Thermalright TY-150 (not TY-170 as it says in some...

iirc some boards/brands didn't follow Intel's specifications for implementing Turbo Boost on Sandy Bridge motherboards, and 'cheated' on performance by always using the maximum boost possible.
There may be arguments for and against this, but I'm wondering if there is similar manipulation of the...
I'd like to get a quick summary on the state of play with Samsung's PLS monitors and panels. Am I right in thinking that at the moment there are:
27" S27A850 with 1.5-2 frames of lag and 50/50 chance of getting a bleedy panel
24" S24A850 with 0.5-1 frame of lag and high probability of getting...
ELSA Gladiac 560 Ti Mini is much smaller than the reference design, which should prove very useful to some people. The downside is I don't think ELSA sell much outside of Japan and Asia these days? but the design looks good, so maybe other brands will follow.

If memtest shows errors at high speeds around the maximum the RAM is rated for, but is fine at 'normal' speeds (1333-1600) does that suggest that the RAM is definitely faulty at its' rated speed? or does it suggest that the OC is too high for the CPU's memory controller?
How would you prove...
Intel boards seem pretty good for power efficiency, and DH67CF is one of the few mini-ITX with DisplayPort. However, does it have a BIOS option to undervolt CPUs?
do any of the other (ATX or µATX) Intel H67 motherboards undervolt?
Now that the Z68 motherboards have been launched I've been considering possible system configurations and asking which CPU heatsinks might fit, particularly as some of the more interesting air coolers are very wide and might interfere with the near PCIe slot. However none of the manufacturers...
does anyone have a length measurement for the Creative Titanium HD card? Note that Creative's dimensions as stated on the US product page are wrong e.g. note the width is stated as 2.4" (~61mm) but single PCI slot width is only ~15mm.Product Length: 12.05 inches
Product Width: 2.4 inches...
by reputation it seems that Marvell 88SE9128 controller for SATA III is awful, and not even as good as Intel's SATA II controller. However there are now some motherboards available (some Gigabyte Z68) with a different Marvell controller, the 88SE9172.
is this new 88SE9172 a worthy alternative...

Lian Li product specification page & gallery: Lian Li PC-U6. I think this one is going to divide opinions:
I bought the original PC-777B conch shell case when it was launched - it was superb, but I had to send it back because it was just too huge. The new version looks interesting, just two...
I've trying to get to grips with a new scanner (Canon LiDE 210) and understand the limits on DPI and resolution. With moderate & high DPI settings it's very easy to hit a resolution limit, and the scanner software (MP Navigator EX 4.0) throws up the message:
The scanner is able to scan at...
Lately I've been reading The Dark Tower novels by Stephen King (just finished Wolves of the Calla) and with the Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition due for release this month my interest is piqued. I know there are a few very obvious references to the novels in the game: "Borderlands"...

I recently got some extra mousepads to add to my comparison thread and I noticed that a couple of the new mats were smaller than I expected. So I got the tape measure out and checked the dimensions all of the pads I could lay my hands on. I guess the results won't be that surprising for some...
