Funny, I just replaced it with an older manufactured Benq DVD and it works fine....vista detected and installed drivers.... Looks like this NEC dvd player is no longer supported....

Cutting to the chase...I have a NEC ND-3520A DVD reader/burner. The problem is that vista doesn't recognize any dvd movies I put into it! I believe this is a driver problem, as I've flashed to the newest firmware and problem persists. But NEC doesn't have drivers, its based on windows...

To simply add an interesting review I came across on some of the newer 8800GT cards. In particular look at the conclusions(pg12) about the Palit card...the cooling scheme seems to be catching on with gigabyte and who knows who else....which points to better designed cards:D and possibly better...

I'm also building a new comp....but I plan on waiting till January b/c: 1. 8800GT is the best! ($/performance) BUT availability and more importantly (at least to the value consumer) the quality will be vastly improved: 3 phase power, quality components, better cooling solutions, better bios...
