I have been under the impression that AMD has performed less shady practices over the years, in terms of buying reviews/collusion. Maybe that's not the case, or maybe this idiot ROY just needs to get fired. I will be looking at the nano reviews very carefully and any review site that does some...
sorry but kickstarter is dumb. it's great for developers, but why would i invest money into a risky project without any real reward. i'm going to lend some stranger money in the hopes that i'll get a digital hat?? they should give out money on the backend, so that it will be more like a real...
no i'm playing fullscreen, i think it may be the power supply though. i played musical chairs with some of the power supply cables and the screen was half garbled when i ran 3dmark this time.

not sure if this would be better posted in the htpc forum but here goes...
i'm looking for a lightweight program used only to browse blu-ray/dvd cover art but when selected launches an external player such as vlc. the movies are stored on wd tv live hub and all of the metadata is there...
i don't think there should be any problem with the av-40's front jack, unless there is a noticeable hiss or degradation in quality vs using the rearward jack. it's a quality component, the jack should be fine. it's another story though if you have a sound card with a dedicated headphone amp.
best to just try it and see if you like it in games or movies. there is never a definitive answer when it comes to sound, you just have to try and see if you like it. so many people argue like crazy, as if there is a definite answer, like A+B+C and you get the sound of god or something.
on...
they would only ban you from mw2 not your entire collection, but i wouldn't risk it even for one game tbh. just don't play it, that's what i did. bad console port (even if it has q3 roots), they just don't give a shit about pc gamers.
your ass is talking and your mouth doesn't know what it's saying. i've been studying electricity for years, considering i'm a senior physics major. lemme simplify for you, the sound card has a bass boost, you know how much bass these headphones have at maximum volume? take that and then...
this is incorrect, the onboard audio card lacks the power to give the open air ad700's enough bass. with the forte's bass boost i can push enough power to the low end frequencies. the normally bass anemic ad700's sound more full, i.e the onboard sound doesn't put as much power at the highest...
what i think people should pull away from this review is that audiophile headphones are superior in every way to the gimmicky gaming headsets. the fact that it doesn't include a mic is a plus imo, when those cheap gaming headset mics break, you need to replace the entire overpriced unit. i...
just buy another 3.0 u won't find a better mouse. if you must buy a different mouse though, i think you would find a deathadder comfortable.
edit: the mice shouldn't break that often, i have had one 1.1 (same guts) for 7-8 years and never a problem with it.
a lot of pro quake live players use ear buds, tbh i can't tell if they are fancy iem's or just your everyday ipod ones. but quake's sound system is so primitive that it doesn't benefit from having a larger sound stage. your iem's would probably be better than most of the those cheap 5.1...
dx9 flickers with ati hardware in bc2, it does it for everyone i know. the change logs for the 10.3a/b/opengl preview drivers fix is related to dx10/11 crossfire flickering. one person mentioned a problem with blobbing white/black textures but it was resolved by returning the mipmap value to...
what dx level are you running? what is the mipmap detail level set to in ccc? i believe most of the ctd's in bc2 are network related and are experienced on some level by basically everyone.
ya, my friends and i have been using the logitech usb mic for a long time without any problems. nobody's has broken or changed in anyway. mine is set to 50% in windows and outbound gain is zero in vent, everyone can hear me loud and clear. for voice chat while gaming they are great, i'm not...
i think your better off saving your money, i read somewhere that the 840's aren't much better than the 440's. if you want more bass than you should look into one of those portable amp's for your zune.
edit: see leman's post here, he seems to like the 840's...
thx kyle, nice review. that would be way too much noise for me, i couldn't stand the noise of my single slot 4850 under load. i wound up getting an asus 4870 dk and i appreciate the low db hum.
No they are messed up and being fixed right now.
"thanks everyone for letting my know about the download error with 10.3b - we are correcting it now"
posted by kylestilkey on guru3d.com's forums, don't know how credible that is.
id tech 5 engine will be open gl along with supporting dx 9, so i still think open gl is important for gaming. if Rage is a success we may see more open gl games coming our way, and imo that is a good thing :).
you didn't need a voodoo 3 to play the first rainbow six, i used to play that on my riva 128zx @800x600, it ran great. Dial-up really sucked though, i always had 200 ping on the msn game network. I got the first geforce for quake 3 arena, and honestly quake 3/quake live still looks good.
don't buy usb headphones, they are generally overpriced and the sound quality is severely lacking. Especially those tritton ones, my friend bought a pair of them, absolute garbage. The microphone is broke after a few months of owning them, sound quality is terrible (similar to all 5.1...
