I decided to buy Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition from EA's website. Everything went smoothly in the account creation, it even said the account name I chose was not taken. I downloaded the game and patch through EADM (Electronic Arts Download Manager) and installed everything. It all went...

Doe he have a vendetta against nvidia or what?
Sorry about that, I should have mentioned it.
I am the kind of person that likes to give credit where credit is due. And after a recent argument with someone about the creation of CS, I wondered how many people knew that CS wasn't created by valve.
But most of all I wonder if he is...
I, for one, thank this man for one of the most important computer games (IMHO) ever created. Without him many people would agree that Half-Life wouldn't have lasted as long or been as successful as it has been. Now where the hell is he?!
Does the whole screen artifact up and then reboot? If so, and later on down the line it starts to do the same with other games then yeah it's your motherboard.
The V350 has enough room for a slim 2x120mm radiator if you're going to use long cards. My 9800gtx+ is about 10.5 inches long and I don't think there is enough room to place a standard radiator between the fans and the card. I would say a radiator that is less than 20mm thick would work.
IMO...
Well amongst the talk of fully destructible environments I came across this video

It's a step in the right direction if you ask me.
I've decided to upgrade my memory, but I need to get rid of this stuff first. Works great, ran 1.9v for about a month now, never overclocked, timings stock, and memtest passed. I don't have a heat account or anything because this will be the second item I've ever sold on these forums...
The Asus P5E-VM HDMI has my vote. Overclocking was a breeze with no problems at all, although I updated the bios before I overclocked. I used this board for my first SSF build so I have no experience with other mATX boards. Biased anyone? :D
The only reason I asked the question is that I read somewhere that if you underclocked memory from its rated speed, you would achieve lower timings than you would if you kept it at stock speed. I just wanted to know if this stayed true if you used memory rated higher than the native speed on...
Just trying to squeeze as much performance out of this machine as possible. I'm worried that something might screw up because the OCZ is rated at 1066 and the max on the motherboard is 800, but I'm paranoid by nature. :D
This seemed to fall onto deaf ears in the memory forum so I'll ask here
I have 4GB of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098
And if I bought 4GB of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227191
Both run at the same timings (5-5-5-15)...
I may have this all backwards but its worth asking. I read somewhere that if you have ram rated at a certain speed and then lowered the speed it you could lower the timings a lot more than leaving it at stock speed.
Now, my motherboard supports memory up to ddr2-800.
I have 4GB of this...
I'm not sure what the difference is between the 8400 and 8600. My 8400 ran stock at ~42C idle, but I have it in a small case with a limited amount of airflow.
What about the E8500, or even the E8400. Sure they might have lower clocks, but it's really simple to overclock them without a massive heatsink. Plus they do not cost $275.
I think you should know that I did not screw the fans in. I used a silicon adhesive and glued all around the sides of the fans so no air could leak out. Also, I think it provides a little vibration dampening from the fans too.
I didn't sleeve them at all, performance-pcs.com did. Almost...
If you want to stick with nvidia then 8800gt is a fine card for your needs, fairly cheap too. But if you are willing to spend ~$200 then the 9800GTX+ or ATI's HD4850 are the way to go.
The fans are the Scythe "Mini Kaze" 40mm Silent Fan. The only time I can hear them is when I put my head up real close to the back of the case, but I think it's the psu that's making the sound instead of the fans...
I have the Zalman CNPS7700 in my system but I might upgrade to the mini-ninja (anyone know if this preforms better?). I also wonder if a TRUE can fit, if it can I will buy it.
If you are going to play games on it are you going to use onboard video or buy a graphics card? I only ask because I...
I built my SFF PC for gaming at lan partys with a little bit of overclocking. I did run into some heat issues but I modded the case. I took out the mesh for the exhaust and in the front there's a long grill on the bottom of the case where the 120mm fans can draw air from (wish I had a picture)...
Cooling is decent in the v350, but its pretty closed off compared to other cases. The two 120mm fans up front have a limited volume of air that they can actually pull through, and the only exhaust fan (the 80mm) is almost completely separated from the rest of the system. I'm not saying its...
