Core 2 Duo 2.8ghz
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R
MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv4 GeForce GTX 260 896MB

Seems like the motherboard needs the regular ATX plug plus a 4 pinner, which isn't a surprise, but then I noticed it wants an additional 2 more 4 pin plugs. And I believe the...
This must draw so much electricity. I wish they put out the power consumption numbers. It would probably add a $120 a month or more to your monthly bill.
It seems there are no Socket 771 boards that support DDR3. Judging from the benchmarks I've seen, that seems to handicap the performance significantly, even making it lose to a qx9650 w/ DDR3. Does anyone know if they are planning to release a Socket 771 board with DDR3 support or a qx9775 in...
I'm looking to get the best power efficiency I can get from a video card while still having the best performance I can. It seems the new GeForce series does not seem to be much faster than the 8800 series, but has the power efficiency improved?
Enermax claims "82-88% efficiency @ 20-100% load. Compliant with ENERGY STAR® 4.0, Blue Angel and 80 PLUS® efficiency requirements. "
The Seasonic is 78.3% efficient at 65W load ( http://www.silentpcreview.com/article656-page4.html )
I'm not sure how the new BFG one compares.
65W of...
I need to make a big RAID array, and it seems that the Gigabyte boards are the only ones that have 6 ports on a single ICH9R controller. I don't want to get a RAID expansion card because the ICH9R is supposed to be very good and can do the job. That would also mean I'd have to use a PCI-E slot...
Regardless of that, there is no power supply on the market that is even close to "Up to 95%" I think NewEgg got the PFC and Efficiency mixed up in the specifications. Don't blame me, blame NewEgg.
I'm basically shopping around for the most efficient power supply, and I came across this on NewEgg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817373004
95% efficiency? There doesn't seem to be any reviews. Is this thing for real?
My Deskstar drives did this for about 4 months before the drive totally failed. Run some low level testing software. It will probably say the drive is no good and cannot be repaired. I've been trying to decide to choose to buy these very Seagate drives or Raptors, and now I'm leaning toward the...
It's going to be on a PC. The controller will be the onboard Intel ICH9R, which I have read to be reliable and does reach high speeds. 10-bit 1920x1080i @ 29.97 fps is 249MB/s. You are right that the larger capacity will allow for faster speeds since it wont reach the end of the disks. Are you...
I need them for my video editing system that works with high definition video. It has to be a sustained rate of 250MB/s. I found a benchmark with 8 drives:
http://www.barefeats.com/hard45.html
And here's a benchmark with 2 drives:
If 2 drives = 100MB/s, then 6 drives should equal 300MB/s...
DDR 2 version
http://www.ocworkbench.com/2007/gigabyte/p35-dq6/b1.htm
Looks to be about the same as the ASUS Striker Extreme. I was hoping for better performance, maybe the DDR3 version will offer it.
The backplate is supposed to actually touch the case, thats why they put it there. It's supposed to dissipate the heat into the case. If it's causing a ground issue, that's really messed up.
I've been hearing alot of comments about this board going into an endless reboot cycle, especially on Newegg. I was wondering if anyone owned this board and expierenced any problems like this?
According to a Tom's Hardware review from March, the 680i chipset seems to bottleneck RAID 0 performance at 110MB/s. Does anybody know if this is still true today? It seems the Intel ICH7/8 blow the 680i out of the water when it comes to RAID 0 performance.
I'm building a top end system, and I have some questions about the latest nVidia 680i chipset motherboards. I'm looking to buy the Asus P5N32-E SLI. This is what I want to do:
Put a top end video card in the 16x PCIe slot.
Put my video editing card in the other 16x PCIe slot (The card...
Ok, I'm looking to spend some serious money on a good computer chair. I've gone through so many chairs because they keep breaking. I'm a pretty big guy at 6'3 215lbs. Anyone have any opinions on these chairs? I've been hearing of problems with the Aeron being uncomfortable with the lumbar...
I kept scratching my head wondering why my system would lock up for about 1 or 2 seconds when encountering another guy to shoot in this FPS multiplayer game. I knew it wasn't my connection, then I realized it was the X1800XT's throttling/dynamic cooling that was causing the freezing, when...
I know most people have alot of heat just from their regular hardware like their CPU/MB, but with these new video cards like the X1800XT and the GTXs they bring heat up to new levels, where the normal idle heat is 52c (126F) and load temps can reach up to 60c (140F). My room is nice and toasty...
does anyone know if .net 1.1 and 2.0 can coexist with each other? I only installed 2.0 and iam running cat 5.11 with no problems, but i am hearing 5.12 only works with 1.1? unless windows update sneaked the .net 1.1 onto my system, is there any way to check what frameworks I have installed?
I don't use 3D Mark very much, in fact this is my first time trying '05. Anyway I got a score 9000. Here are my system specs:
Athlon FX-57 on RDX200
Radeon X1800XT
1GB Corsair XMS RAM, I forget the specs here, I think 2-2-2-5, running in Dual Channel.
All of CCC is on default settings...
My room gets real hot because of my puter and monitor etc., it gets about 80-85F and when you step outside my room its about 60F, hehe. Well anyway it seems my X1800XT is throttling down alot, I am hearing the fan power up and down, and each time the card throttles down the game I am playing...
Anyone else using Cat 5.11's and notice that when you playback WMV the colors are all off and everything looks purple/orange/blue? I've noticed the only way to fix it is to turn of the Video Mixing Renderer, but I don't have any problems with MPGs or AVIs when Video Acceleration is set to Full...
BTW, This might have been mentioned already, but it seems that in alot of their motherboard boxes that a header piece crushes the SATA connectors on the board in the box and totally bends the port or breaks the port off the board. A store had to totally deny all it's shipments of RDX200 boards...
I own a DFI RDX200 and couldn't agree more with this review, I just wish I read about it more before purchasing it. Normally I would not purchase a DFI motherboard, but this is the only Crossfire enabled motherboard that you can purchase right now. The motherboard will refuse to boot 3 out of 4...
