A few people have enabled the extra pipes but experienced severe artifacting and polygon errors so there are a few card with faulty pipes. If your X800 is freezing or vpu recover is messing up try disabling it? If that deosnt work your gpu may only have 1.31v compared to the 1.41v for the XT...

65C load is the same as the vga silencer temps I got. Prefer my vantec aeroflow though. 31c idle 53c load and thats @ 570/577 with 1.52v and 16 pipes. With 12 pipes it ran 4c cooler. Gonna be sticking a swiftech block on there soon and run 1.62v through it. Maybe hit 600 on the core? :)

Overdrive is useless. Max oc of 507mhz core. ATItool is loads better.

I would put a vga silencer on your card then there is no risk of it running too hot. Thats a very nice card you have there!

I along with a few others have done this. Its simple and you do NOT need to flash to XT. All I did was take the heatsink off, cover the other parts with maskin tape and put a blob of conductive paint over the area needed. Took the tape off and stuck the heatsink back on and ATI tool shows 16...

Its not my settings because its a fresh install latest mobo drivers etc and I'm scoring in scale to most other people. For example one guy on OcUK gets 13,600 @ 620/590 clocks or so with the 16 pipe mod. You are way over this with lower clocks and 12 pipes! You sure you didnt run in 800x600? lol

Well then wtf is going on. Im using the betas which gave me an extra 1,000 marks over the officials? My cpu is an atlhon 64 @ 2320mhz. X800pro was @ 570/580 and I got just under 12,000. With the official cats I got 10,700.

over 14k air cooled without the extra pipes? You would get 15k if you enabled the pipes. I dont understand how ur score is 2,000+ higher than mine with same drivers and similar clocks.

I got a BB ATI 9800pro yesterday with R360 core and did the flash. Get artifacts @ 396 core with stock cooler so im sticking a vga silencer on next week. The memory runs fine @ 365 though. Got an extra 250 3dmarks in 03 just from doing the flash and an extra 600 in 2001se! Can't wait to fit the...

I only get mouse lag when the FPS drops below 35 which is very rare.

I have the neo. Works a treat @ 215mhz fsb. No problems at all and super fast.

Run dxdiag.exe. It should say agp texture acceleration is enabled (in vid card section).

Upgrading to 2x512mb pc3200 ram from 2x256 twinmos. Have an MSI K8T Athlon 64 mobo and was wondering would the 2x512mb twinmos 3200 work fine or should I expect problems? Cant really afford the better name memory as I just want to run around 210mhz fsb cas 2.5.......... Thanks!

My sapphire 9700pro gets me; 19,000 @ stock and 21000 overclocked to 396/374 In 03 it gets me 5,300 @ stock and 6280 overclocked to speed above. Thats in a 3200 A64. :)

Browsing web at same time as priming will lower the stress on the cpu due to less resources available to prime. For a real test dont run anything else but prime and set its priority to 10. This will make ur system almost unusable due to prime having 99% of cpu cycles available. If its prime...

You have the mobo and memory to overclock so just up the FSB in bios 3mhz at a time and run prime for half an hour or so or just try your luck and set it to 210mhz then go up in 3mhz increases. If it goes wrong flash bios and start again. I would say 220mhz fsb is a good target for ur setup...

What memory and what motherboard have you got?

My board isnt prime stable over 214mhz. Upping cpu voltage and lowering timings didnt work. And i just tried turning turbo to normal and that didnt help. :rolleyes:

I forgot I had turbo mode on so now trying prime @ 2160mhz (216 fsb) @ 2-3-3-6 timings still. 5 mins and its stable so not looking too bad. :)

If I was you I would reinstall mobo agp drivers then instal DX9.b and then install the cats again and all SHOULD be well. BTW is that the max overclock on ur 9700pro? I have mine @ 385/360. :cool:

Doing a quick search on 3dmark orb I see that a 3.36ghz P4 with 280mhz fsb and a much more overclocked 9700pro than mine still cant beat my system. Just shows you how high the memory speed on a P4 has to be and the closer it is to the FSB the better. Get some better memory if you have to and...
