I played the PS4 version with a friend for a few hours last night. I thought the game was pretty good, but straight away I had to do a 28(?)GB install followed by a 3GB+ update which I thought was pretty lame.
Also, button mashing out a fatality seems to be pretty easy in MK X as between the...
I did try reinstalling the chipset drivers but that didn't help either.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation. I think you are correct as that makes sense and it is something I hadn't tried.
BTW, I have since moved to Windows 7 and everything works perfectly so far. Well almost everything, I...
Well, here's my experience with WD RMAs in Canada thus far, in point form because it gets confusing:
- two WD5000AAKS 500GB drives in a RAID 0 array (drives are from the same batch)
- first drive fails and I do an Advance RMA with WD
- I mail in my defective drive the next day
-...
You're right -- a clean install of Windows fixed it. Strange because I've never had a problem swapping out a video card before. Oh well, something new I guess. Thanks.
Better late than never?
Yes, when Windows shows 2.13 GHz clock speed, then Team Fortress 2 runs a the proper speed. As it turned out, the problem wasn't really solved. Sometimes when I booted up, I'd get the correct speed, other times I'd get something way out of whack (such as 9.73GHz)...
I have a really strange problem with this setup and I'm hoping someone here might have an idea what's going on.
Fist of all, here's the base configuration:
- ASRock 775dual-vsta (3.17a BIOS)
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz
- 4GB (2 x 2GB) Corsair XMS2 DDR2-1066 (running @ DDR2-677)
-...
I have a strange problem where XP is showing my system running over double it's actual speed in the System Properties window. Eg.
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
6400 @ 2.13GHz
5.61 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
If I run CPU-Z it reports the correct speed, however.
Normally I wouldn't really care, but...
It must be this exact model.
The information in the lower left of the drive's sticker hopefully will also show Mfg Date around 10-OCT-2006, Made in Singapore.
The logic board on my drive died (damn you Maxtor!) and I'm hoping a swap will allow me to recover the data.
Please, if you have...
I read the article, then I read this thread in full, and then I went back and read the article again. I just don't get where the confusion comes from.
It seems many people (although in the minority) have the opinion that Kyle was somehow unjustified in his responses. Are people so negative...
In my PC I have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 running in 5.1 mode with a 5.1 analog speaker setup which is mounted to the walls in my computer room.
I also have a Playstation 3 which runs into the same LCD display as my PC. The PC uses DVI and the PS3 component on the LCD display.
In order to...
While I realize you've already found a way around your dilema, I thought I should point out that whether or not your sound comes from a physical card or an onboard chip, it can still be disabled within Windows.
It still uses a driver and will appear as a device in the Device Manager...
Plasma, if it makes you feel any better, I already tried this idea myself and as they mentioned here it has an unacceptable lag. Not 5-10 seconds as someone said (on my system anyway), but it was 2-3 seconds which still made it impossible to play.
The image quality also isn't all that great...
Sounds like it might work, assuming the anti-virus software is able to identify it as a virus.
Another perhaps safer method would be to boot to a Windows PE (pre-installation environment) CD. That way you don't have a writeable drive for the virus to infect. Just Google WinPE for more info...
How about testing the errorlevel variable to see if the command was successful? Example batch file:
@echo off
:delete
net use h: /delete
if errorlevel 1 goto delete
:map
net use h: \\server\share
if errorlevel 1 goto map
:success
echo Remapping of H: successfully completed.
Glad to hear it! Just out of curiosity, what kind of video card are you using?
I wonder if there's a pattern as to which cards do and don't work with the NVDVD decoder (or if it's something else entirely).
Personally, I've used a Radeon 9700 Pro and a GeForce 6600GT without any issues...
You could also try uninstalling the Nvidia DVD decoder and installing PowerDVD to see if that fixes the problem. You can get a free trial off Cyberlink's site.
I've read that the Nvidia DVD decoder fails with certain hardware combinations and/or outdated drivers.
Did you install any other...
I'm not sure if the line length would cause that. For example, if I tune my tuner to use the coax input (which I don't have anything connected to) then I get the usual white noise that you'd expect to see on your TV.
It really sounds to me like a problem with the DVD decoder.
What type of...
I do something similar with VLC Media Player (freeware).
I have my HTPC which has a video capture card (composite inputs). I then use VLC to capture and broadcast the video on my network. You can specify codecs and quality to suit your needs. You can even configure it to broadcast so you can...
Same general setup as what I have. I had the same error, but it was because I hadn't installed NVDVD. Since you mentioned you bought it, I'll assume you already installed it.
Also, I had this problem once after I loaded a codec pack which broke something. Uninstalling it brought things back...
After reading through several posts I think many people are missing the whole point as to why so many people are upset over this shoddy release by Valve.
CS:S did go through a beta cycle, from which many serious problems were ignored. The seriousness of some of the bugs are so severe that it...
The program isn't the problem. I could write that now. The problem is there isn't any hardware to actually do what I want.
It will have a remote, but I will be doing a lot of gaming with my HTPC. I can't see myself fragging with a remote in hand :D.
I'll try it out. I do have a Logitech...
Okay, here's the deal... I'm planning to build a HTPC, which will sit along side my Playstation 2.
Currently my Playstation 2 has a wireless USB keyboard/mouse combo which works fine. I don't really want to have two keyboards (or mice) hanging around, so I need some way to have it connected...
