8800GTS and Texas Hold Em (Vista Ultimate) I get flashing text with the Vista Ultimate game and the latest beta drivers for the 8800's. Does anyone else see this problem?

Yeah but this wasnt like the heat sealed shrink wrap... it was the heavier folded at the corners like every other game type wrap... G

Check this out... Went to Best Buy this weekend and Picked up a Copy of NCAA 2005 for the Xbox... Got home opened it up (Had the Xbox Seal on it and everything, Felt like Manufacture Shrink Wrap) and inside was a Blank CDR... I was like WTF Best Buy is never going to believe me.. But they did...

Some chipsets MIne in particular has to have the 62.20 or 65.xx drivers for Opengl games to change resolutions and not lock up on exit.. I have tried every 4in1 under the sun but nothing fixed it untill I went to 62.20... I am running a 6800GT and a KT400 Chipset. G

That may be the issue right there.. You are using ATI I am speaking on behalf of Nvidia cards... ATI has Triple Buffering.. Nvidia does not.. I suggest you use tripple buffering with VSYNC on... Best of both worlds! I really miss it since I went from my 9800pro to my 6800GT. G

Do me a favor... Make sure VSYNC is on and your refresh rate is 60hz... Go into doom3 and then gointo the console type "com_showfps 1" walk around in the game for a bit... Notice howits either 60 or 30... Now go out of the game force your prefered gaming resolutions refrash rate to something...

Actually with Vsync on it drops to a Multiple of your refresh rate... For example if you are running a 60hz refresh rate and your Frames per second (FPS) drops from 60 to 59 your frame rate will actually get set to half your refresh rate i.e. 30FPS. Now if your actual rate drops below 30FPS...

Well.... Not really... I moved my card to a P4 2.8c system with 1gig of ram. Actually benched 1 -2 frames per second less than my XP @2.3 ghz...Doom 3 at 640x480 Low - 53 fps... on both systems... IT really looks CPU limited but I have no clue why I am not getting what Anand tech cpu article...

Both... Both problems went away when I installed the 62.20 beta drivers.

Reinstalled the 4in1's too many times to count... I may throw it in to P4 system I have... Its just soo wierd.. If I had not seen other people getting higher with the same card and CPU I would have thought it was just CPU limited... G

Same here.... I did a timedemo in quake 3 and got 220 frames per second...so I am really at a loss... its like my system is running at 1.7ghz instead of 2.3 in Doom3...

Maybe, but I would think it would cause problems other than low framerates at low settings... I will throw in a 450 Raidmax I have here and see what it does... I will post my results in a few. G

This is a bug in the Nvidia Drivers in conjunction with the VIA 4in1 Drivers... They only fix I have found is to use the 62.20 beta drivers... G

Ok Guys I am having the exact same problems... Doom 3 Timedemo at 640x480 will not go above 55fps... I dont think these are bad cards cause so many of us are having the exact same issue. In an effort to help troubleshooting I am going to list everything I have tried, and my exact system...

True, but I find that even at 400 1.1 @ 1280x1024 I am mostly CPU limited in games like Doom 3... G

Ok, I have a 6800GT with 62.20 drivers and coolbits2... How do I force Doom 3 to use trilinear filtering... I dont see it as an option in my advanced settings for the 6800... Did coolbits screw this up? Thanks! G

Is it just me or did those benches seem to show cpu limited performance for both sets of cards... I just don't understand why everyone gets so hard core nvidia or ATI? I owned a 9800pro and now I own a 6800GT you know what.... the 9800 pro was awesome in its day, and now the 6800GT is awesome...

62.20 caused Halo to crash when changing resolutions for me... G
