You use the "High Level/Speaker Level" inputs from your receiver's sub output. the sub you mentioned does have this option and attenuates the the signal voltage accordingly. The only issue may be noise but is not a requisite.
This option is intended for use with sources such as a two channel...
the layout of the fusion wants to pull air in the expansion slot (as well as the HDD zone) and dump it out the right hand side if the case. cards that exhaust out of the case don't work very well but if you use the rear case fan in the stock position to draw air from the cpu and the forward fan...
i did the same with cheap pioneer five channel and as astrallite stated, the the crossover is high. i noticed the highs sounded far better. not a huge improvement but i can hear more material. for me that setup is for gaming only but worth what i payed.
the 3320 uses the cpu and ram to calculate the parity. it is only hardware assisted so while a server or media center environment are suitable some systems may need the cycles.
i am in the market for a 16 channel. between the arc-1261ml and megaraid 84016e i am working out if the $400 extra...
i did the same thing... i picked up the 680's when they cam out and it was unbelievable what i got for the price. after buying some cheap bookshelves the sound was brand new. when i blew the amp up (my fault) i bought a receiver and realized despite being a great value they dont stand up to a...
this all depends on a target idle and load power usage you are aiming for...
singe board computers are the fastest way to low power systems but also an expensive route if you want to use powerful cpus.
there is no such silent case. any sturdy case will have less vibration but the amount...
i guess it does not help that i cant hear above 15 and a half khz :( breathing definitely sounds unnatural in mp3's as well as symbol crashes but for mobile listening i don't mind. my speakers are not accurate enough to make it noticeable at >320kbps
is it safe to say sacd and dvd audio will...
i think about it as hearing the difference between equipment well before changes in good modern compression. i use 320kbps for mobile listening and get lost in the music regardless.
i am going to sit on my 8600gts untill there are two slot passive coolers that are the same profile as the 8800gt. the current after market stuff will not fit in my fusion.
you will have to look hard... they are getting rare. the boared in my sig vanished the day the package arrived.
i would shoot for the highpoint stuff more then $50 but i hear they are good. they are not hardware but they are assisted.
thanks... i was just not aware that sas and sata drives would mesh on a single controller. i guess ill read up on the switches and stuff.
this is a nice breakdown of info... minus the flaming.
i would suggest an integrated amp/receiver, bookshelves/full range mains, and a sub if you need more bottom end to make you smile.
how much do you want to spend?
is it the sata bus that is half duplex or the drive controller... or both. i am asking because i am picking up a SAS 16 channel raid controller to use with 15 1tb drives. is the sata controller going to drop the sas bus to half duplex?
the intigrated sas port sounds interesting.
flash is nearly permanent unless overwritten. the cells either hold a bit or they don't. if you apply an ESD to the cell it will be damaged but that is physical.
you may be thinking about a flash drive being corrupted. in this case you don't have access to the data but it is indeed still...
i feel the same way. platter based storage seems like it will cover the high capacity market for some time and SSD may phase high spindle speed drives out. i don't know about robustness because flash has maximum write cycles but platter based drives exhibit mechanical failure.
i have been hearing that softraid and HW assisted raid is nearly as stable as HW raid nowadays. i also see that card pop up all the time when i am researching. i am still going to stick with descrete HW raid for piece of mind but you should be fine going that route. if you can keep the OS off...
i have never had issues with RMA but i have on a few occasions been sent rebate checks with my name spelled incorrectly. now i have a big ass name and mistakes happen but if you make enough noise they will help you.
vesa is able to credit you if you can prove you where charged for stuff you...
i blew my 680's up but still have the pioneer stuff. when i see the 5500 for $200 ill get them. im glad they only do pc gaming duty... everything else i use they stuff in my sig. the klipsch stuff blends better then the logi's. i will give them that but the cheap bookshelves i got made this...
you can but it is not worth the effort. you would have to cut and splice wires from the control pod. the other option is to open up the amp and run line level from the pod or pc into the input stage of the amp.
other then component big fixed refresh and sync RBGY and VGA are then same when it comes to image data. i would skip the vga and just buy the hdmi/dvi cable
like mohonri said the case matters little. here a few of use talked about it in detail. you are right in using a large HSF combo.
i like this guy... i am using it as a spare in the kitchen. it is uATX though.
the ability of a system to playback hd content has little to do with the mobo. if there is an onboard hdmi port then all you need is a decent cpu and efficient filters. that software above plus any current desktop dual core will work fine.
i use a harmony 880 no and it works great. you need to...
component and dvi really only share resolution. other then that the luminosity and color data is handled differently ie. analog wave form. this could very well be that same ends through different means though
i may be wrong but i understood component only patched 1080 interlaced at 30 frames...
that is what ffdshow does... it finds the spdif and passes the sound to it. ffdshow also encodes but you can choose what you want it to do. i currently use a bluegears cad that encodes everything but in ffdshow i set it up to pass ac3 and dts unaltered. doing this allow multi channel audio...
you should be fine with sata drives. sas has a more robust connector, better expandability and better power delivery but the rest of the features may not be utilized in a small setup like you described.
sata will provide a better storage/cost ratio.
it will fit every reference design card. the only thing you need to worry is with some of the specialized coolers. most silent coolers dont fit and the cooler on mine rubs the vents.
you need a fing a budget you are willing to throuw down first.
hdmi to dvi there is no change in signal... same exact image.
surround sounds is more then 2.1. 4.0 is the smallest surround and it goes up from there.
unified control the correct way is expensive so after you post a budget ill...
hahaha i love how a picked up the 8600gts right before the 8800gt was released. for me though and extra part is enough for me to excuse a new build. i plan on gettin the 8800gt and sending my 8600 to the living room.
the mce remote is a good start. later if you feel it is holding you back...
i am going to talk to my girlfriend about the rack stuff. if i can get a short rack and a chassis then i will go that way. drive wise i may just avoid wd consumer drives for raid and continue to use them for everything else. i am definitely going the way of hd-dvd and bluray. i will be picking...
dew
i have been toying with the 1tb drives and if the spinpoint get around to $250ish when i start buying them i may jump on it. i want to avoid the issues that come up with wd drives and there error correction dropping them from an array. the re2 drives, samsung and segate drives dont suffer...
right you are. i have not heard orb but the other two sound better then everything i have heard from bose(though about the same price on gallo:()
klipsch and maudio 2.1 will also kill bose and are fairly inexpensive.
no video card outputs Dolby TrueHD. the audio device is a DD pass through over hdmi. both dts and dd hd audio formats are only available in analog through sound cards. the 5500 will accept the analog uncompressed hd audio but a receiver and speaker theater setup will allow you to better hear the...
