If he's looking for a computer at that price point, he should check out the local stores like Futureshop, Bestbuy, London Drugs ect. and see what kind of deal they can give him. From browsing the Futureshop site, the least expensive computer I could find was a Compaq computer for $399.99...

My winny 3200+ couldn't boot into windows after 235fsb. CS:S was not stable even at 2.2ghz for me. :( I wish you luck. :)

According to those pictures, the 1+ has what seems to be heatsinks. Copper maybe?

I got the zalman. It got me the same temps as stock but with almost no noise. I use the 5v plug not the 12v... Plus this was my first time putting on thermal compound manually so I probably screwed up there.

I turned my computer on this morning hoping to import some songs onto my computer but nothing happened. I went into "My Computer" and my two Optical Drives didn't show up. I turned off the computer, booted into bios and it detects the two drives fine. I went back into windows xp, device manager...

I was scared to talk back to my dad. Of course, not anymore but longer than most of my friends, even longer than my older sister and brother. I've noticed that I've always been a bit quiet around adults too (not scared), but i dontk now if that's associated with being smacked so many times...

The LED's are either off, red or blue depending on the voltage setting. It's just that when the LED's are actually on, I find them way to bright. I guess if you had a door it wouldn't matter. None the less, it's still a great fan controller. It hasn't failed me yet!

I've only used the Sunbeam Rheobus and so far so good. Only complaints are: -How bright the LED's are -The silver doesn't match my lian li case -and the blue etching (yet i can't see it because the led's are so bright) but with a little modding i could get rid of those listed so...hmm

But how do you know AS5 isn't the one to be nervous about... ;)

That's your computer, he was saying that the next generation consoles will out perfrom most computers, not every computer... Besides...the next generation consoles are what, 5x less in price than your 'powerful' computer. If I can get that much performance at the same price as a high end...

Why should I buy an already expensive piece of hardware when I can get a decent one for less? A 6800GT/x800xl will still handle games without any hickups unless the resolution is way up. If I did buy a PPU, it'd be only for eye candy, which is what (to me) these next generation video cards...

Futureshop and Bestbuy in Canada are selling the game on thursday... at least I'll get a couple opinions in before I purchase it. :) I've had enough of CS:S, I want some Q3 style deathmatching-with improved graphics!
