Just built a 2500k conservatively @ 4.3ghz and I use atitool to "scan for artifacts" while running prime95 and 4 concurrent sessions of cpuburn to test stability.
450w PSU and from the wall under load it's consuming 325w, whenever the video card is loaded I hear some high pitched noise, it...
When restoring power the first boot will not post, red light stays illuminated. Must turn power off with power button then turn back on where it posts no problem and runs stable.
Is there a bios update for this board that fixes this?
@ stock freqency it'll hold 78-80c, ambient temp of 70f.
Is this average? It runs fine simply upping the multiplier to 42 for 4200mhz, but temps start getting into the 90s so I assume an aftermarket cooler is REQUIRED for overclocking?
Still using ghost from a bootable USB drive to clone damaged hard drives, is there a better product these days that works outside the operating system to recover/clone drives?
Building a box for my gf's parents, they'll just be using the web, itunes and other minor demand applications. They DO NOT need a dedicated video card.
For under $500 i'm thinking an E8400, intel 43GT board, 4GB ram, WD 6400AAKS HD and an optical drive... seem like the most economical...
I'm running a IP35/e8400@4050mhz/4gb ram and switched my WD7500AAKS to a WD6400AAKS, hdtune puts the 7500 @ 75mb/sec avg while the 6400 does 88mb/sec with a better burst and latency, this is with vista 64bit and ahci intel matrix driver 8.2
is this *THE* fastest drive I can run single drive...
System is a Abit IP35, G.Skill 2x1gb ddr2-800, Antec Trio TruePower 550w, BFG 8800GT
Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 1.34v, stock cooler and temps sure aren't chilly, but they're 10-15c away from t-junction *shrug*
Probably not going to be happening for awhile on q6600's due to the penryn delay eh?
Have a [email protected] now, can I do 8*400/3200mhz with a retail boxed HSF Q6600?
Just decided to give this a whirl, system is BFG 8800GT / C2D [email protected] / DDR-800 @ 800 4-4-4-12, Vista 32bit, nvidia 169.02
Ran @ 1280x1024, NoAA, detail HIGH, benchmark selected was "benchmark_gpu"
BFG factory clocks (625/1566/900): 35.13fps
(700core/1750shader/1000 memory)...
Left the fan @ auto (nearly silent), BFG card is clocked 700/1000/1750, using CM690 chassis, C2D @ 3.2ghz, stock fans for cooling... played the game pretty much beginning to end and my card didn't melt, nothing crashed, no artifacts occured
I don't know why everyone's so hard on the operating...
Just went from nforce2 to IP35 with onboard realtek hdaudio outputting to reciever via ycable like usual, when i adjust the eq and get it sounding good low frequences (bass) reduce the overall volume level... fix for this? eq and environment are disabled in the realtek control panel wtf
I have a E6420, GSkill DDR800 2x1gb, Abit IP35
have set as:
400*8 1.25 divider (3200 cpu/960ram),5-5-5-15 timings
vcore: 1.45 (1.39 under load/65c max temp, stock cooler, prime stable)
memory: 2.2v
'vtt: 1.2375
ich: 1.55
mch: 1.28
cpu gtlref: 63%
what are the "acceptable" ranges...
Stay with this?
i'm doing 3200mhz on stock cooler with good temps (Coretemp beta) @ 1.40v 400*8, any reason to not just pay for this one and keep it or will a quadcore at similar freq be that much quicker playing games, ripping movies and looking at pr0n?
Well folks, just went from a 2400+ AMD @ 2400mhz/1gb/200gbhd/6600gt to
-Abit IP35 vanilla (bios 14 official)
-E6420 (borrowing until I make decision on quadcore 65 vs 45nm!)
-2gb of cheapo G.Skill ddr2-800
-WD 750gb SATA
-Antec Trio 550w
-Geforce 7600gs (waiting on my 8800gt to ship...
Should use the intel storage matrix or the driver contained in the chipset utility?
by "feel" the chipset utility driver is faster, any experts?
I have one single 750gb WD drive in AHCI mode
You guys using the fan headers on the board or fan controller / psu controller?
I guess there's some options in the bios for fan throttling?
post settings here :)
What's the most preferred bios revision for this board and also since i'll be installing XP when it arrives and I haven't opted to use a floppy drive, how will I install the AHCI driver from text mode when installing windows?
This the board of champions or what?
I was about to buy a IP35PRO but besides firewire is it any more stable / overclocking friendly than the others? (e/normal/v)
I just ordered a new rig of parts, haven't picked out my mobo/proc yet (gskill 49.99$ deal on the memory pc800 2gb x1)
Had thought I wanted Abit ip35pro + Q6600, any other suggestions instead?
-Abit IP35 Pro
-Q6600 (hopefully @ ~3ghz)
-2gb ddr2-800
-MSI 8800GT
-750gb WD HD
-DVD burner
Using Antec Solo case, I don't want or need some 900-1000watt ridiculous priced PSU, I'm wondering what I *NEED* to achieve my goal and what offers the best price/performance
thanks
Buildling a quadcore rig primarily for encoding and working with high definition video, some of these cards say they do it on-the-card now? Any recommendations, does it have to be a very high end card to make the process faster?
looking for any information pertaining to this, also can this...
1) Is there any good reason to buy the twice as expensive ddr2 1066 or can I go with ddr 800?
2) What's the best value in P35 motherboards w/ firewire?
3) What's a good middle of the road video card, I don't play many games but would like to decode HD and DirectX10 if possible
4) Any...
Using an intel 865 PERL motherboard with AGP, just installed an EVGA 6800 GS "co edition" P/N: 256-a8-n397-tx, running the evga or nvidia drivers normally say the hardware isn't supported, i had to point windows to the inf file and force the 6800 GS driver...
now when i go to display...
Can I use my 20-pin potmodded sparkle 400w PSU w/ a A8N-E? Just wondering since some of the intel 24pin boards work w/ a 20pin ATX connector and extra 4pin molex, also any recommendations on processor? kinda had my eye on a 3800x2 (trying to make a fairly cheap upgrade)
I have a gravis gamepad pro USB which used to be fine, but it simply doesn't have enough buttons nor analog to really enjoy gaming on PC like I do on PS2/XBOX
I have a 3200+, 6600GT, 512mb ram and I usually shy away from getting into games (have juiced/san andreas/NFS underground 2 installed...
I just installed latest official video and wdm drivers for my card, but yahoo messenger doesn't understand I have a capture card etc
does someone make a better WDM driver?
does anything even utilize it?
I have one of those "badass" or so it was Sparkle/FSP 400 watt psu's from when I went AXP 3200+ over 2 years ago, checked out the rail readings on the sticker today and thought I could prolly use it for overclocking a venice no?
+12v/15a, +3.3v/28a, +5v/40a
what do you guys think
Just wondering because i'm pretty set on doing a NF4 ultra & venice 3200+, i don't want to be left out in the cold when the dual cores show up though, no new sockets/chipsets coming soon are there?
I have one of those old school antec soho cases since I first went AthlonXP two years ago, outfitted with all the fans and temps good, noise doesn't bother me (just hums, nothing high pitched), i'm most likely moving to a NF4/Venice 3200+ here soon and was wondering if I can get by with a good...
I've been overclocking and messing with hardware a long time, but only have put together one A64 system and i'm a little confused as to overclocking it
It's a K8N Neo4 NF4 board w/ a winchester 3200+, i understand raising the HTT/FSB results in higher clock speeds like we'd expect and that...
Have 8RDA+ w/ run of the mill pc3200 memory now w/ 2500+ barton locked @ 3200+/2200mhz(200fsb)
considering the move to NF4ultra w/ a 3000+ winchester and of course a PCIx vid card, but the a64 stuff is locked also right? so i'm going to need some very expensive ram to get it cranked up (i'm...
