Achieva Shimian QH270| $400 IPS 2560x1440 Korean Monitor

Just received my Achieva Shimian QH270-Lite from green-sum. Incredibly fast shipping via DHL. The monitor is *beautiful*. What an amazing display. I did end up getting 3 dead pixels within a 3 inch area at the lower right corner of my display. But, the only reason I found them is because I...

All of my new parts are on the way, EXCEPT for psu/case - what to pick?

Thanks for the input, guys. I pulled the trigger on the Silverstone FT01B-W and Corsair 1000HX. Finally, after about 2-3 weeks of indecisiveness and going back and forth on all the various parts of my build, all the parts are on their way. What do you think, slight improvement from my...

All of my new parts are on the way, EXCEPT for psu/case - what to pick?

Hehe, sounds like a pretty overwhelming response. Is the Corsair really that good? I was siding with the OCZ simply because of its single-rail as opposed to Corsair's two rails.

All of my new parts are on the way, EXCEPT for psu/case - what to pick?

Well, I've pulled the trigger on my next build. All of the parts are purchased and currently in transit via UPS *except* for a psu and a case. The reason I held off on those two and purchased the rest beforehand is due to NewEgg instant savings. I was planning on an OCZ EliteXStream 1000W...

Almost ready to order - any changes recommended?

I've been hung up on what case/psu I should get for like a week now. haha. I think I've finally decided on what I posted above. My main problem is that I want a Mid-Tower, but most of the mid-towers I like will not comfortably fit some of the huge 1000w+ PSUs that I would be pairing up with it...

Almost ready to order - any changes recommended?

I'm preparing to drop quite a decent amount of cash on a full system here. Moving up from an AMD 64 X2 4800+; w/2GB DDR 400; GeForce 8800 GTX. $3k is about what I'm looking to spend here but I'm flexible since I tend to go "all out" every 3-4 years as opposed to steady upgrades. -This...

PCP&C 860W sufficient for GeForce GTX 280 SLI?

I'm putting together a build for my a completely new machine. Last time I upgraded parts/ would have had to have been at least 3 years ago. I run an AMD X2 4800+ right now with 8800GTX. Anyway, part of my concern with the new build is that PSUs these days seem to be approaching mammoth...

Looking for a Mid-Tower that can comfortably fit Corsair 1000HX or similar

Well, here I am again. As usual, I'm able to swiftly decide what items I want (for the most part) for an entire computer build EXCEPT for the case. I'm pretty particular about my case in terms of physical appearance. I don't really like too much flashy stuff like windows and excess lights...

    Seeking Core i7 Build Advice

Well, I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a new system from the ground up. My current box is old enough that with everything I'd *have* to replace, it makes reasonable sense to just buy a few more parts to complete a full new build from the ground up so that I have two functional...

    CCNA/CCNP Cisco Home Lab Recommendations

Over the past few weeks I've been looking around and planning on investing in a home lab to work on my CCNA (and upon completion, work on my CCNP). The first thing I've found out is that there's simply not a breakdown that says "This is the ideal lab, hands down, bar none". Reason being is...

Contrast/Brightness cannot be modified on the display's menus when you are using a DVI connection. You must modify brightness/contrast from your video card settings if you use DVI. Using VGA, you can modify contrast/brightness.

Correct, DVI Have not tried VGA nor do I really plan to ;) Not sure where you heard xx07 was isolated to desktop mode. Dell simply decided to turn it off for desktop mode to allow people a banding-free mode but still offer that mode with the processing when it may be warranted (dramatic...

Dell originally posted on my order status that the estimated ship date would be June 16th, they also say on their product page "Usually ships 5-7 days". Looks like that's all BS because it appears it's been handed off to Fedex TODAY! Woot woot! COME ON BABY!

    Stuck Pixels gone??

I believe it is not uncommon at all for stuck pixels to become fixed. Obviously there is a lot of rumor on what tactics work or not, but i've heard of numerous successes with a "Stuck Pixel Fixer" video. The stuck pixel video was popular with PSP users and essentially just flashed a solid red...

Haha, that's the theory i'm subscribing to as well. Dell is letting everyone else test the screens for them, saving the revision to go out to the US customers. No matter how unrealistic of theory it is, I need something to latch onto for my months and months of waiting for this forsaken...

    Buying an APC UPS - BR1500, SUA750, or ?

Anyone have any experiences with the Belkin-made UPS units? The SUA1500 from APC will run $426.93 without shipping, and Belkin's 1500VA model only runs $125.53 Kinda wonderin' why (other than brand-name) there is such a drastic difference in pricing. I've never known Belkin to produce...

    Buying an APC UPS - BR1500, SUA750, or ?

I think after further review i'm going to at least invest in the Smart-UPS line of APC. The Back-UPS line (like the BR1500) I was looking at just seems too much like the "eMachine" of the APC series, simply offering remedial UPS functionality. My UPS will more than likely be powering...

With my 10-year old+ APC UPS finally dying off, i'm in the market for a new UPS. Based on personal experiences and manufacturer reputation, i've decided APC would be the best choice. Originally I was looking around for any possible reviews on APC-made UPS systems, but found only a handful of...

Video Card "In Stock" Tracking Script

I whipped up this little "Tracking" script when the 7800 512MB cards were so scarce. However because they never really ever came back in stock for more than 15 minutes it wasn't that helpful. Now with the release of the new (and more plentiful) set of cards, the use is somewhat renewed...

    2407FPW, 2707FPW, or 37" Westinghouse? Gaming Monitor

    2407FPW, 2707FPW, or 37" Westinghouse? Gaming Monitor

I'm tending to agree. Forgot the fact that the 2707FPW has more pixels than the Westinghouse. Just makes me sigh that I had finally decided upon the 2407FPW and was unpatiently waiting and whining for it to release (I even wrote a script that checks every 30 minutes to see if it has released...
