It all depends what you want to run, I don't intend on running anything past single socket/single card combo so this HX620 should last me till I feel like replacing it or it starts to die, I've had it for over 2 years already.
the 8800GT PWM heatsink pack is a rip off (in UK at least) you can use any sort of heatsink that fits the vid ram onto the VRMs.
normal HR-03 should not have a problem at all with the cooling
It is true Coolermaster struck out on the looks, the thing is they intended for this industrial/gamer look to it and personally that was a huge mistake.
Everything else about it is practically faultless though.
I used Everest to log my CPU usage, peak was 88% on my [email protected]
Not a spike either, I'd estimate lengthy 70-80% usage over long periods.
No slow downs 80-200fps, even during horde rushes, according to netgraph, 8800GT on 1280x1024, 4xAA, 2xAF, all high everything else.
Well its a full tower so its fairly heavy, I'm no muscle man but I don't have trouble lifting it up, if you fashioned some straps or something it'll be easier to carry for sure.
The case comes with wheels if you want to use them, they aren't heavy duty things, more like use for home type...
HAF is easy to have a quiet machine with, running a Corsair HX620, passive 8800GT with S1 (side fan is impressive for this) and Zalman F3 on fan controller.
Stock fans are very quiet, I have them all on controller for near inaudible running when sleeping.
Even then for normal use, its far...
yes, the clips have very good tensile strength, so even though you think you might break the clips they won't.
120mm fan will fit on all HR-03 variants (Plus, R600, RevA, non-RevA, GT)
As for fan, it only needs minor airflow for great performance, I've used all sorts, ended up with a...
source?
I'm using it now, and any other HAF user will say its extremely quiet. I've read about 7 or 8 site reviews, I don't recall any stating its loud at all, infact totally the opposite.
Obviously peoples definition of "quiet" will differ, an F3 @1300rpm certainly is quiet for day to...
yea the bottom holes does not fit the wire all the way as there is a small metal notch blocking it, I was rather rough with it and it has bent off the metal notch so the wire goes all the way in lol :p
the key will be price, its no good that its cheaper than the VX450 because it is both lower wattage and uses lesser grade components than the rest of the Corsair range. (3year warranty vs 5year is saying a bit IMO)
VX450 is already a cheap price as it is
If you don't mind the looks, the HAF-932 is actually a very quiet case
top fan 230mm 700rpm
side 230mm 700rpm
front 230mm 700rpm
rear 140mm 1000rpm
Its audible sure, but compared to most computers its very quiet, I even use a fan controller to undervolt them down to 500rpm, even quieter...
VGA side fan yes, CPU side fan no
Case window versions, yes.
very unsure on the backcooler but I don't think there is enough room, unless you remove the middle top fan if you have one
I don't recommend using it.
I did it for SupCom and it worked a charm for that game, but every other game had issues with it usually in a random crash to desktop with a generic memory error, games include CSS, TF2 and Spore
This was on XP Pro, 4x1GB (not OCed)
Removing the /3G switch...
People who own HX series can testify that the PSU does not shift much air at all so that is a very big drop, but I would also agree its entirely down to the bottom PSU fan sucking out extra heat directly from the CPU area (don't forget the motherboard VRMs there too)
one hell of a bump, but what he means is that the internal USB light that is supplied only works when the PC is powered up, there is little you can do in the way of working on inside the PC like that.
Unless the light can be used if the PSU is switched on and the PC is off, but does anyone...
can't judge a fan by looking at the specs
Yate Loons L and M speeds are certainly no where near loud or at the very least no where near 34db compared to other fan makes (lol@silenx)
Unless you had a faulty Tri-cool, on low speed it should be very quiet, the only problem is tri-cools don't...
Probably disgruntled at why cards cost so much to buy but so little to make whilst ignoring the other factors that users have addressed in the above. I could be wrong though.
This is what I read some time ago

That was not true?
edit - ok nevermind, you've actually posted in the thread where I got this link from, I must have not seen it. My mistake.
I was a bit wary too, but on my side panel it was actually concaved towards the fan, so now its slighty concaved outwards.
its really simple to do actually, just get a cloth for protection and just gently tap with the hammer all around the edge of the grill, don't whack it! :D
The grill is flat and this is too close to the fan blades, I got a thick cloth, panel flat black side down and got a hammer to push the grilling out a bit more (look up Antec 300, you'll see what I mean, though its not quite pushed out that far;))
Also used 3 layers of silicon washers to put...
1. Unlike other cases, recent Coolermaster Tool less features actually work, if you don't like it, you can use screws if you wish. Except on the drives, but the tray system is quite remarkable.
2. I'm with you on this, interior black would look awesome.
3. Airflow design is different...
Its one of those love it, hate it relationships IMO.
Personally exterior looks is entirely user preference, while I don't think its the most best looking it could be, feature wise and internals for $185 you are highly unlikely to find a better case for your money.
Much like the CM690...
