It would cost the same for an AGP DX10 card as upgrading to a PCI-E sytem I bet. Doubt they will make any AGP cards for DX10.

How did you detach your's? What I did in the end was just bend back the plastic bit that was keeping it held in with some tweezers. The fan has never come loose or anything after. And it still works. You sure that the cable is fine and isn't slightly detached at the fan end?

Are the 2 prongs sticking upwards? I had trouble too when removing a fan cord on my 6800GS.

Well it will depend on what the preformace gain in DX10 is between the two. I wonder how good it is in DX9.

If the temps high, clean out the dust in the HSF. It works, made a 40C differnce in my card.
