Guys,
I have an Audigy 2 card sitting right next to my 8800GTS with very little gap in between and i'm not sure if this can contribute to the high temp on the 8800GTS. I don't really mind removing the sound card if its gonna bring down the temp by 5C at least.
Guys,
What ram should i get for light overclocking with the E4300 and Gigabyte 965GM-S2 (matx) motherboard?
I want to get into overclocking stuff, but just wanna do it lightly and not to the extreme. I have no experience also on this subject.
I know the motherboard has limitations on...
Guys,
I'm planning to buy all my parts this weekend and i need everyone's opinion of my setup.
Which is better overall:
E6600 + 8800GTS 320MB
or
E4400 + 8800GTS 640MB
I'll be using these components:
Monitor - HP 2207W
Motheboard - Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2 (matx)
Ram...
Is the E4400 the best buy right now for the low end of the build (no overclocking)? I think the price is just about right, $139. The next chip, the E6320, is about 5% faster on games, but almost on par with the E4400 on applications.
E4300 - $117
E4400 - $139
E6320 - $169
It's so cheap...anything wrong with it?

Is it good enough to light-overclock the E4300?
Hi,
Is the 8800 GTS overkill for the types of games i play on a 22" monitor?
Games i play: Rome, CCGenerals, MiddleEarth1&2, Civilization4, AgeofEmpires3
Future games: CCtiberium, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander
As you guys can see i only play RTS games and i know i don't need a...
I'm about to buy a Foxconn 8800GTX locally, brand new, for $400. Is that a good price? This guy is selling it 'cause he wants to buy a laptop instead. He said its sealed and brand new. Does Foxconn have the same warranty and support like EVGA? Are there cards as reliable as EVGA? Also, can the...
Hi guys,
What's the minimum card i should get in order to play RTS games like CC3 and Company of Heroes in medium settings (lower resolution on Dell 2407?) with all filterings off? I was thinking of the 7900GS. Is that good enough?
I don't play often, but use my comp for video editing and...

Which brand should i go with when deciding my next card? From my readings in this forum, the Nvidias have better drivers and better scaling than the ATIs for larger monitors; is this true?
Now that the Conroes are starting to ship; are there any available mobo (matx) to purchase as this moment? Also (don't wanna start a new thread), are there also any new SFF case coming out soon maybe next month?
im buying this card soon:
eVGA 512-P2-N570-AX 7900GTX @Newegg
Is this a good card? I read from other post that the 7900 series have problems lately so is this the new revision? Newegg is selling it for $514.99 ($484.99 AR). Any other place that sells it cheaper? Thanks.
Guys,
Im building a system from a scratch and need some advice on which CPU to get. I leaning into something of a bang for the buck performance. I have a limited budget and will spend most of my $$ for the 7900GTX so i need a good performing CPU that would not bottleneck my GPU. Im thinking...
Are there any matx motherboards that have the PCI-E and PCI slots switched in position? It seems like when you installed a video card with a sound card, you wouldn't see the video card because the sound card is covering it. I'm in the process of building a SFF rig with a window so i can show off...
Hi guys,
I'm in the process of building a decent rig for myself and would like some advice on which path to go. For a lil' background of my rig, I'm currently using a P4 2.53Ghz with a GeForce 4200 Ti. I use my computer for internet browsing, dvd burning, picture editing, and home video...

Can i use the DDR2 800 ram on the Intel 805D? The reason is that im planning to upgrade to the Conroe later on and wanted to save money of not buying new sets of ram. Thanks.
Hi guys,
Im building a new mid-level rig for general and occasional gaming use. I play mostly RTS games like Comman and Conquer, Age of Empires, and Rise of Nations. I would use my computer mostly for internet browsing and light video editing.
Can you guys tell me which is the best setup...
Like the title says....
Im building a SFF rig soon and i just wanna know if high temp really affects your system. I know most of you are hardcore gamers and really picky about temps, but for a part time gamer like me ( i play mostly RTS games ) and i spend of most of my time working (office...
Hi guys,
Anyone of you have a Western Digital My Black Book external hard drive (160G Essential Edition)? I just got a good deal @BestBuy for $79. I couldn't find any review on the net and wondering if these drives have issues. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi guys,
What is the best setup for rams, 2 modules (2x1Gb) or 4 modules (4x512Mb)? I just wanna go with a total of 1Gb of ram for my system for now but will definitely upgrade to 2Gb in the future when Vista comes out. Is it better for me to just buy a stick of 1Gb or 2 sticks of 512Mb? I...
Do you guys think there would be a micro axt board availabe for Intel's Conroe when it comes out? I'm planning to move to the Silverstone Sugo case on my next upgrade.
