I asked nec this a while ago and this is what they said: You'll want to adjust the top one first, and then the bottom one. The top adjusts vertical focus, and the bottom adjusts horizontal focus.

I have the FE2111SB and have similar problems. The top right and bottom right corners are a bit blue and can not be fixed. Geometry is impossible to get perfect at high resolutions... usually the top inch looks too tall. I also have fuzzy spots which tend to move depending on the resolution...

A good crt that can do 100+ hz at the resolutions you want won't really hurt the eyes much unless you live in front of your pc 24/7. LCD are generally easier on the eyes since most people have/had cheap crts. However poor viewing angles and high brightness of the lcd can also strain your eyes...

Used the 19" benq 937s for a month and it sucked ass. Poor color, contrast and uneven back light. Dithering was also very noticeable compared to other lcds i tested and viewing angles are lower than the specs indicate. Benqs monitors seem to be on the low end of the lcd market scale.

I want 173P+ or 193P+. 8ms PVA. my eyes will love it. I wouldn't say that. A chinese site has a preview of the 193P+ and the response time might be 8ms grey-to-grey but black-to-white looked to be as bad as 20+ ms.

1000:1 contrast sounds nice but the back light being 450 is insane. Anything past 200 is like looking at a flashlight.

I tested out a bunch of lcds and i found that the eyestrain they create is about the same as running a crt at 100Hz.
