Well I DO have a 10 inch shovelhead catfish fish in it. The water stays pretty clear.
I'm not sure it will heat up. Consider there's a lot of surface area over the whole aquarium. Plus, there's gonna be a lot of hose running between, too.
Lain of Serial experiments Lain, a 13 episode anime show. Every OCer should watch it, you'll find out what I mean. Lain's 'spiritual journey' is quite amusing.
What kind of pump would I be looking for? It would have to be quiet, 120v probably, cause it's getting plugged into the wall, though I...
Has anyone ever actully used one? I have a 55gallon one across the room. I could use a submersible pump, and have probably truly room temperature water, better than a rad setup even. I would have to run tubing across the room, but I grow closer to Lain every day anyway.
My main motivation in watercooling is noise. And my Zalman with intervolted fan is really quiet now. The only thing that could be quieter would be NO fan and a silent pump. If I have an AMD 3700 that I rarely use to full cap, how much rad would I need to go fanless? I'm prepared to aim a desk...
I have access to the machine shop tomorrow and in the absence of better ideas I decided to make a CPU block as a nice easy project. Figure I'll go for one of the 'sandwich of two pieces of plate with a circituous path milled in one or both' variety.
The problem is I don't have access to my...
I'm in need of a watercooling pump, not for cooling a CPU but a diffusion pump for a vacuum system...a similar application. Where are some good places to shop? Some pumps in good standing with watercoolers? Are they all 12v?
I ran an optical cable from my computer to my surround processor, and it works, but the processor won't switch to surround.
I'm using Media Player Classic with CCCP. MPC says audio is "English AC3 48000 bits 6 channels" but my surround processor doesn't think so.
I set control panel to...
This board seems to report temps wrong. Mine says 35 right after boot, and never goes over 42. So I assume there's a temperature offset.
Mine is stock, and fails to detect my SATA hard drive on bootup, so I have to go into the CMOS and do 'auto detect' every time, which is a PITA.
I don't...
I have an RS482 and a SATA drive. About half the time it fails to detect, so I just go into the CMOS setup and autodetect on channel 2. Then it boots fine.
I tried to install SuSe 10 and it doesn't even make it past to the setpu screen; right after you choose 'install' it locks up.
I paid 125 at the egg for the same drive a few weeks ago, no free shipping though. I think I'm going to get one because it's really quiet, plus I could RAID.
Why do they charge sales tax to OH? I don't think I've ever been charged sales tax online.
So it's between Maxtor 16mb for 106.99 or Seagate 8mb for 104.98. I value quietness and reliability, I do not game.
Choose for me.
The thing is, the music was probably recorded with pro audio gear. So what's the point of using better gear to listen to it.
What's the point of using silver interconnects in your speaker system to listen to music that was recorded with $1/foot copper microphone cable?
I have a laptop, running wirelessly with
a Linksys router. Running XP pro. SP2
I also have a desktop, plugged into the back of said router. Running XP pro. SP2
All I want is to be able to access files stored on my desktop, on my laptop so I can play them wherever I happen to be in the...
I bought the laptop the OP posted, back when it was much more expensive  of course. It's been a year and some months, and it's holding up great, and I don't exactly treat it well, I just throw it in my backpack with my other books, and set it on the floor propped up against my...
Yes, I have already installed Windows. Right now it's only mildly irritating. What is bothering my though, is the ATI program crashing every startup and the fact that I have no USB2 ports. I'm going to dispatch a tech support email as soon as I can be bothered. I hear you on the features...it's...
Well I just built the computer, so maybe I should have gone ahead and dropped the big dough on an uber processor. Or, maybe I'll just read a book while encoding video, since I need this computer to be quiet as well.

No overclockage that I know of...I didn't change anything.
How does one go about updating a BIOS? Any ideas about the USB2.0 issue? Sucks because my external HDD is USB2.0.
Help. I just built my first PC.
When I start my PC up it about half the time says DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISC AND PRESS ENTER.
This despite the fact that there is no disk in the drive, and I have the BIOS boot order set as
1. Hard drive
2. Disabled
3. Disabled

You can, but that would suck. A good thing to use is in old credit card. When I did it I used a piece ripped from a notebook cover.
Remember they said THIN layer, that's going to be hard with the tip of the tube.
There are about 200 different models of fans out there, and I don't trust manufacturer's ratings.
Silence is priority, I have voltage reduction capabilities and don't need lots of airflow, just nonzero. I didn't watercool my PC just so I could listen to the rad fan.
This is a pretty serious problem...I can't install SP2 until I make my partition bigger. It's NTFS.
Q: Does Partition Resizer resize NTFS partitions?
A: No, NTFS partitions are currently not supported by the resizing engine. They can only be moved but you cannot use Partition Resizer to...
I burnt off that gparted liveCD, but nothing happened. But then, I have been unable to install linux on this system at all, so maybe that has something to do with it.
