The cpu cooler issue is interesting to me because I'm considering getting this case myself.
Any idea if the heatsink on something like a Shuriken could be put on the cpu and, with a sufficiently powerful 80mm fan, keep the chip cool?
I mean, you'd need quite an 80mm fan, but it's possible...
I'm not even a person who would normally sue someone, but I would definitely consider it in his situation. :)
Makes me almost want to not buy the case if they ever become available.
I'm looking to build a new computer, and I haven't been deep into the hardware review scene in quite a while, so I figured I'd ask for some advice.
Some notes to mention. I have very, very limited desk space, so the case needs to have an incredibly small footprint. Small enough to put the...
But then you couldn't drink a glass of wine with it. Image nabbed off their website.
I agree that the case alone would be neat. Can't see myself paying $1900 for it.
ooo. Its going to be in a metal case?
Nifty. I love metal cases for my games. Flashy. :) I've preorderd my game long ago, but this is the first time I've seen a blowout of everything that was included.
Basically, and yes. As far as I know both of the 8800 cards have the same cooler. The GTX would be on average louder because on average the card would run hotter, thereby making the fan rev up more.
It'd be worth the expense if more than maybe.. 3 mainstream titles actually used the darn thing.
But, as others have said, it wont do anything. The only real title thats mainstream that is seemingly going to use it is UT3, and we dont know to what extent.
I did some extensive research myself (because I live in Norman) and found theres about zero advertised LAN's around here. A lot of the ones they even have are console based, which was just about no interest to me.
Gamestop apparently is taking preorders for the game. I mean, you cant take the dates too seriously, but Gamestop has a preorder page for it.

If anyone hasnt heard of the game before, its a Fantasy based FPS that has extreme...
Oh dear, let me think about this.
Bioshock
Hellgate: London
Quake Wars
World in Conflict
Universe at War
Age of Conan
Tabula Rasa
Heroes of Might and Magic Tribes expansion pack
Sim City Societies (though its pushing more of winter)
Bah.. what should I play?
I'm not sure if this is how it still is, but Circuit City used to pay employees by sales, not by hourly wage. Sure, he wanted to push you a card they actually had in stock. :p
That being said though, I've rarely came across many employees at any of the major retail outlets who were actually...
Yea, granted that the only matx board that has SLI is old and hard to find. :p
My vote goes in for the SG03. Its quite stylish. Arguably one of the best matx cases out there (and probably is the best matx tower case).
You know how exceedingly difficult it would be to play the game without any form of gimpness with only the controls the DS has?
They only way they are getting away with it on the Wii controller is the motion sensing.
What type of games do you like?
I actually run a DS news site, so my suggestions would probably be all inclusive. You may end up with a list of 30 games. :P
Theres actually quite a huge community of people playing physical table top games.
Hey, if you want to I say go for it. I've had my share in just about every type of hobby shop game known to man. All of which were pretty fun. :)
You know you can very easily shoe-horn a monster system into a mATX box.
Heck, I could spend easily 3 grand on a monster mATX box.
mATX boards can be decent, but the problem is that very few of them actually are. You just have to do some research to find them.
Surprised this hasnt been mentioned because it could be slightly off topic, but heres the complete list of April NPD sales.
Nintendo DS - 471K
Wii - 360K
PlayStation 2 - 194K
PlayStation Portable - 183K
Xbox 360 - 174K
Game Boy Advance - 84K
PLAYSTATION 3 - 82K
GameCube - 13K...
I'm in, but I'm getting the BOOM error everytime I load the game up, thereby I have no account yet.
Apparently a lot of people are getting that same error. I'll drop my name down here if it ever gets fixed.
I don't know how to compare the card to those fans, but its somewhere in the "not silent, but not really loud" category. It was by far the loudest thing in my computer, but I have an incredibly quiet HSF and PSU.
Was it loud enough to be noticable while playing games? Not really. As long as...
Yea... but they were probably using tried and true Gold's strat.
I havent played since 1.6, but that was slightly overpowered one could say in 1.5. Its pretty horrible that usually the most competitve players are playing the game at a certain point, not other players.
I'm a latecomer to this thread, but I'm horribly surprised no one has mentioned a Silverstone Element 500watt Short Cable edition?
That thing has 36amps combined 12v rails and its quite small.
Yup. Go check out the SFF section of these forums. Theres a ton of good info there.
Currently theres a rather decent C2D Gigabyte motherboard that looks promising. I think people are OC'ing it over 400 FSB. The post should be on the front page of the forums.
Well, I wasnt expecting something completely different. :p Who know though, maybe there will be heroes? I just expect more from Blizzard games than remakes. But as others have stated, it is probably too early to know for sure what its going to be like.
I mean, a new race would of done...
Okay okay okay...
Anyone else slightly disappointed with the concept? I mean, a new Starcraft.. thats GREAT!
But this game seems to be like Starcraft v1.2, not a new and exciting game of Starcraft. Its just like... remastered. >_<
Yup. You should be fine I'm betting. Just realize any considerations of OC'ing it are completely out of the question. :)
I mean, an 8800GTX EVGA superclocked only requires 28amps on the 12v rails and a 450watt PSU. As long as your dont have a ton of other things in your case or OC like mad...
