not to mention the terrain system (which i cant recall the name of) was not present in doom 3. I would hope the graphics are better in Quake Wars, but alot of the graphic improvements may not require much interms of extra resources as I imagine the engine has seen numerous optimizations since...
the same could be said for chaning the ram dividers then.
Dr Kevin
bottom line is I beleive ocing is about trying to maximize your performance, meaning do whatever works best for your components :D and never be afraid to try something, the internet for all the good it does, helps spread...
meh
I used a half multi previously on my asrock without problems.
I think the biggest reason they reccomend against it, is it can be very difficult to determine the actual ram speed
why dont you use the other slots?
if your using yellow and yellow move to orange and orange. Single Channel would definitly be a hit. I noticed a 0% ocing differnce between the two slots on my dfi. Despite numerous reccomendations to use the yellow slots
Not I
hmm new ram, new cpu and new motherboard for what? (assuming you already have a a64 that is).
Somehow the $800cdn to get the same or lower performance(based on prerelease benchys) just doesnt sound too appealing. I guess I could just be picky :p
but one could stipulate that an extremly effecient 90nm design would not see the same benefit as going to 65nm as an ineffecient 90nm core would. Intel should see a bigger difference because theyre 90nm process didnt turn out all that well and certainly didnt offer them the performance levels...
I need to be able to creat variable variable named sessions. So basically
$curdev = "device".$_SESSION['HTinfo']->numdevicesused;
ends up being "device1", "device2", etc. If i echo it, it displays the correct name
then I assign information to it with
$_SESSION[$curdev]->thing1=99...
Unforunatly im not hosting the server and it seems alot of the PHP errors have been turned off. What would really appreciate is on the fly syntax checking in dreamweaver. I cant count the number of times ive been frustrated with a script because I for a ;.
btw ive been going through the...
k8 and more effecient in terms of the ever famous performance/watt ratio being touted everywhere. Intel had significantly lower performance per watt when comparing 90nm cpus.
with 65nm Intel was able to decrease wattage as opposed to increasing performance to improve their performance/watt...
is his name speculation?
I beleive AMD will make small improvements to the K8 core until theyre ready for a new arcitecture. They may lose the performance crown temporarily, but I think theyll bring some interesting things to the table with the new technology. I also disagree that 65nm will...
A power supply is measured in more than just amps
effeciency is still very important, not to mention reliability. Id find the part number and do some searching for reviews or problems.
Im not familar with that power supply, but I would definitly suggest doing more research
edit: did...
Ive recently been learning PHP, I have used dreamweaver in the past for HTML and generally liked it, and I paid good money for it so naturally thats the first thing I went to. Ive found it to be decent but wondered if there was anything better out there?
Im willing to spend some money if its...
Once Conroe and AM2 are out, everyone will be waiting for AMD's Conroe killer, then of course quad cores are coming out, so people will of course wait for that too. There is always something to wait for. If your on a budget, you may also want to consider the premium price of new techonology. I...
ran 1.58v on my 3000+ on stock cooling well I was assembling the water cooling loop. Temps were always below 50c thanks to the arctic conditions I like to live in. You know youve been ocing to long when your willing to freeze your ass off just to avoid raising the heat and possibly having to...
I beleive it would be a worthwhile investment.
I know alot of the guys around here don't like Tom's and I can understand why sometimes. But can't argue with this
http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=238&chart=68&model2=212
for comparing single core speed, id compare...
I was reading the article regarding IBM warming up to AMD linked from the front page.
http://news.com.com/IBM+warms+to+AMD+Opteron+servers/2100-1010_3-6066330.html?tag=nefd.top
I was under the impression that IBM has worked closly with AMD for years, in fact I beleive they even provided...
does no one else find it kind of funny that people are arguing about the "real world benefit" of a whitepaper.
Doesnt matter how good a technology is, implementation is key. Seeing as we have nothing to benchmark or compare to, i find it really interesting that some of you can draw such...
they would be the exact same performance out of the box. The clawhammer is listed as 512k here so theyve disabled some of the cache. OCing potentional is a different story, Venices have a good history of ocing, but ive never encountered a S939 clawhammer so I cant speak for it.
First of all im an AMD fan but im going to agree with the majority of the replies and suggest you do some research. Grammar is not something I judge a post on, but misleading or incorrect content I do and let me say this post was damn painful to read.
The rule is not that cpu speeds double...
that is definitly the bios you want if you want to oc on the asrock
newer bios's seem to become unstable above 270. I had great luck with the beta 2 on that board. beta 3 and 4 are ok but only got to 274htt. Beta 2 did somewhere in the 300's
By far the weirdest problem ive heard of, cold bug doesnt normally affect cpu's above 0c, from what ive seen. My AMD idles around 22c most of the time and has no problems.
this is not your problem. Doesnt even make sense really. Although DFI's can be picky with memory rarely having memory that is too fast will cause a problem. You are using a divider(or atleast tried to) so that would have effectivly run the memory at a slower speed.
Hmm id probably go for the Opteron 150 at that price. $328 at new egg, and that is an FX55 -200mhz which is easily attainable. Or we could just consider the 200mhz less even for the single vs dual channel memory controller. Seeing as 200mhz is what AMD considers equivlant to dual channel...
This is very much correct. I owned a S754 for a very short period of time. I do recall hearing about the Newark 3700+'s but not the 4000+'s.
Id love to see those reports. Ive definitly seen a some high clocking cores, but 3.2ghz is pretty impressive, especially on air.
Admitidly those...
