What I loved the most were some of the online maps for Halo PC. I wish some of those maps would've been recycled when they made multiplayer maps for Halo 2. I want my flamethrower!
Only improvements I think you'll see is one core can handle WoW and the other core handles everythings else. The OS, WinAmp in the background etc. can be handled by one, and WoW gets one whole core to crank. I don't think WoW has built-in dual core support.
I play from time to time whenever I get the itch for it. I played it hardcore online a while back but then settings keep getting tweaked, little kids running around screaming, or even worse, players who have their radio on maximum ear drum explosion level so I can hear whatever retarded rave...
After logging in and your at the character select screen theres a button the bottom left corner that says 'Addons'. Click that and it leads to your addon screen that shows all the addons it detected on startup. Theres a checkbox that I think says "Load out of date addons". Check that box and it...
Every 2 levels theres usually some new skills/spells that become available to learn. So levels 2, 4, 6, 22, 48, etc. every even numbered level usually grants access to new skills.
You'll need to visit a Rogue trainer to purchase the new skills. They can be found in most major cities like...
I thought I heard/read somewhere that 2 people with their own personal Xbox Live accounts can both sign in at 1 Xbox simultaneously.
Example, Halo 2 on Live you cannot play ranked matches if you have a guest signed in. That's what the team training type matches etc. are for. But since both my...
I didn't have much beef with EA for years to be honest, until they bought out the exclusive rights to the NFL. The Madden series has already gone stagnant, I was severely dissapointed with Madden 2005 and '04. Visual Concepts did an amazing job with ESPN 2k5 and I will sorely miss their franchise.
The pre-paid game cards are for 60 days and cost $29.99. So about $15/month, the same as if you paid month-to-month subscription with a credit card.
It is a few dollars cheaper though if you buy like 6 month chunk of time with a credit card. I think it comes out to $12.99/month if u buy 6...
The same people who made Alpha Centauri (I loved that game as well) made Civilization 3. Civ 3 is a great game as well, although it's not Sci-Fi oriented, a lot of what made Alpha great is also in Civ 3 IMO.
Civ 3 is fairly old now, even has 2 expansion packs for it now. Just a quick search...
If you're worried about overpopulation they just opened up like 5 or more new servers to start characters on for WoW. So if you and your bro start on one of those you guys should be fine. New servers have been up for only a week or so and should be fairly empty.
Rumors were (at least what I've heard/read) is that Blizz was unhappy with Ghosts development and brought a lot of it back to the drawing board.
Now you have to realize that other stealth type games similar to Ghost have come out recently. Splinter Cell series, MGS (to a certain extent) etc...
With the rig in my sig I play at 1280x1024 with 8xS AA and 16x AF and I'm cpu limited.
I can change resolutions up to 1600x1200 and I have the same framerate, I can lower the AA and AF levels and have the same framerate.
Save the cash from SLI and put it more towards a cpu with a lot of...
D1sc1pl3 covered most points pretty well. I've only played WoW so I can give info on that game.
1) Just wanna clear up a little that if you run back to your corpse you lose 10% on what items you had equipped when you died. If you rez at the graveyard you get 25% durability hit on every item...
1) Fun combat - story can suck or be non-existant a la UT2k4 but if it's fun I'll play it, especially multiplayer.
2) Story - Great stories really do it for me. But I give it some slack since it's FPSs and not RPGs. Gotta have a good story in an RPG. An FPS can be great without a story but a...
There's a few missing, the Battlefield series, Tribes series. Battlefield series is okay, Tribes started strong, 2 was pretty good imo, Vengeance...meh.
WoW is definitely more CPU intensive than GPU. My rig in sig below I run WoW at 1280x1024 with 8xS AA and 16xAF. Drop that down to zero AA zero AF and I get no framerate increase whatsoever. I usually have good framerates, only drop to 30's at the main gates of Stormwind city and in Goldshire...
Probably yes, they just pushed out a new patch on Sunday giving racial traits, new spells for some classes, adding reagent requirements, new mount for Tauren, and of course the occasional nerf to a few things. I think the only thing missing that they promised for launch would be the PvP...
Well for all of us who cannot play WoW till next week's open beta, we can all salivate while watching the WoW cinematic intro movie: http://vnfiles.ign.com/wowvault/videos/WOWIntro.avi
It's pretty badass.
WW2 Era shooters have saturated the market for a while now. One after another kept coming out, devs finally thought to try something new, and now Vietnam is getting soaked.
One question...Why'd they skip Korea?
A well seasoned and skilled Tribes veteran can do amazing things at amazing speeds. You can't kill what you can't hit. Of course this all depends on the terrain. With the right terrain, Tribes gear would dominate.

One of the most anticipated PC games of the year now has a launch date.

First of all I care. I'm much more a PC gamer than a console gamer.
Second, Bungie didn't do the port, Gearbox did the port and we all know how that turned out.
Ridley Scott directed Alien. Cameron did Terminator 1 & 2 though.
I suggest John McTiernan. Director of Predator, Hunt for Red October, the first Die Hard and Die Hard WIth a Vengeance. Pretty impressive resume if you ask me :D
I don't play CS:Source *gasp*
I have the problem in some other games. C&C Generals, and games based off the UT2k3&4 engine have horrible framerate lag with 8xAF. Games like Tribes Vengeance use the UT engine.
The rthdribl test thing, and Doom 3 I believe don't give me the same problems...
Yup the 66.81's have that wireframe problem with 8xAF. Haven't tried the 16xAF yet, but with 4xAF or less the problem goes away regardless of AA level.
So with the 66.81's I play at 4xAA and 4xAF.
That was my bad, got all the 66.82s 62.81s etc. all mixed up. Sorry.
Saw the 66.81's and the 61.82's and a WHQL thrown in. Surprised I got any driver still working lol.
The 61.82 WHQL's are what I saw along side the 66.81's and got'em mixed up.
OriginalReaper is right though, with 8xAF...
I used to have the same problem with all the 66 class drivers. I've been using the 65.73's because they still work flawlessly.
But Guru3d.com has the 66.82's that are WHQL, I tried those out and now I have the increased speed but no wireframe problem. Try those out and see if they work for...
Ahh good news. I saw the new 66.82's at Guru3d.com and they are WHQL drivers. Uninstalled my 65.73's, ran driver cleaner in safe mode, rebooted, installed these 82's and no wireframe problem!
I have the wireframe problem as well. I get the same problem with all the 66 class drivers. The 65.73's still run perfect though so I'll stick to those for now.
