I have 3 drives setup in RAID5 and a cron job that goes off nightly to backup my /etc, DB, and some media files to a remote PC using rsync. Something like this probably wouldn't work for you, but it works well for me, and was the best choice for me and my data.

Right, so right now the best counter vs. pyros is probably heavies, which is probably why they're doing heavies next.

Personally I think the pyro update screwed up the game. You're right a good soldier, heavy will still take out a pyro, but it's rare to find a soldier good enough to take down a bunch of pyros. With the added health it takes 3 rockets to take out a pyro, so if you're good enough you can bounce...

Wow.. lots of differing posts on this. I play on a 6300 OC'ed to 3.3 with 2GB RAM and 8800GT. I play with the settings on Max (-Shadows) at 1920x1200, and AA on. The FPS does drop down a bit in the city sometimes, (actually only in one area), but other then that it's pretty much smooth...

you shouldn't have to 777 everything. The directories will need read/execute, but you should be able to set the files within the directories to the permissions you want.

I'm confused by these numbers, it lists zero players for NWN, while the count at nwn.bioware.com is 2122 players. It makes me wonder how accurate the count is for the other games.. Maybe it's something with NWN that screws up the count. Anyway back on topic, I've gotten 2 games this year...

i use mythtv. it's pretty easy to install and setup using ubuntu. you can find a guide here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV I guess knoppmyth is even easier to setup, but I haven't used that in quite a while.

Well it could be a HD Server, as in you could install XP and store files on it. I don't think you'd be able to use it to watch HD, the CPU is too slow.
