New SFF build advice (I'm a little rusty)

Great, thanks for the input. Should I consider AMD at all? I guess I sort of automatically went the Intel processor route because my impression was that Intel is more dominant at the moment, but I could be completely off there. Also, I'm hoping someone has some experience with these...

New SFF build advice (I'm a little rusty)

I built my current computer almost 3 years ago (I know, it's been awhile). It's a Shuttle SN95G5v3. I've loved it; a great buy, but now I'm getting the itch to possibly put together something new. This will be my primary comp; I watch a lot of HD content (and I might use it to drive an HDTV at...

HDTV resolutions -- 1024x768 is HD and widescreen?

I've been looking for a HDTV and noticed that many widescreen plasmas have a 1024x768 resolution. I don't get it...because it seems to me that 1024 / 768 = 1.333 = 4:3 aspect ratio. Also, I understand that 720p is officially 1280x720 (though many "720p" sets are typically 1366x768 for...

Halo 3 48-hr Xbox Live Gold Trial -- Code Swap!

Just the regular version. I seem to remember reading that it was supposed to come with all copies though. It was just on a card behind the manual in the DVD case.

Halo 3 48-hr Xbox Live Gold Trial -- Code Swap!

It was inside the DVD case. Maybe it didn't come with all versions of the game?

Halo 3 48-hr Xbox Live Gold Trial -- Code Swap!

I figured there are probably a bunch of people out there that already pay for Live memberships and don't need the trial code that came free with Halo 3. Perhaps we could start swapping codes here for people that need/want them?

there is an option there and it's set to "maximum performance" which I assume means it should be on all the time.

    Vista: Network disconnect after inactivity

I find that when my Vista PC goes into sleep mode (monitor goes off, etc.) when I reawaken it the network has disconnected and must reconnect. This is slightly annoying because I like to run bittorrent pretty much all the time. Anyone know a solution? I'm using vista business if that is...

That's about on track with how I did. So about 2/3 of the way, I think.

Picking up most of the side quests along the way? That's certainly something I think I'll go back and do eventually.

Beat Twilight Princess? How long did it take?

I just beat Twilight Princess. What a magnificent game! I'm curious how long it took others here to finish the game, so I figured a poll would do. I completed it in 36 hours, doing some extra stuff but sticking primarily to the main quest. Still, I was expecting it to be longer...

Wiimote almost as perfect as mouse for FPS

Yeah I noticed the twitchiness too with the Wii channel interfaces. If you check out Zelda: Twilight Princess videos, though, it looks really smooth. Like you said, maybe a sensitivity setting, or I've also heard that being really close to the sensor bar will screw with the movement. Edit...

    Good Boss Battles

I agree. I liked the Zelda boss fights. Ocarina of Time final boss fight is absolutely awesome. It kept me on the edge of my seat, heart pounding. I also really loved the Wind Waker final boss fight for its sheer beauty and artistry; I thought the cel-shading really excelled in that last...

Video showing the Revolution controller in use!

This seems to be a common concern I hear. But this is seriously ridiculous. Plenty of everyday activities involve more strenuous activity. Consider athletics. Or consider musicians. Violinists (I happen to be one) hold their arms up continuously. And, they must move their (bow) arm...

Video showing the Revolution controller in use!

Yes, and if they can make something that simulates recoil on an add-on like that (Time Crisis arcade-style?), that would be even sweeter. Of course, it would probably eat through batteries like nobody's business.

    Just got BattleField2. advice?

Players, too? Are you serious? I didn't think this was possible. Suicide bombers, mwahahaha.
  36. A

    ATI Tool 0.24 question

Well, you don't have to, but it would be a good idea when overclocking. ATItool can set the fan speeds a little more "aggressively" than the norm. Helps to cool the card better. I use the "Try to keep keep GPU temperature at: ___ " option. For my X800 Pro, I set this temp at 50C.

    Just got BattleField2. advice?

If you do want to learn to fly, do it an empty or nearly empty server. Or else people get angry. While I find piloting a jet with mouse and keyboard is indeed difficult, it is entirely possible to be an ace chopper pilot with mouse/keyboard. Just takes practice.

    GOLDENEYE(Source Mod) Christmas release

Electric fields set up in conductors carrying current also travel at the speed of light, actually. So, differences in bandwidth are not a limitation of signal speed. But anyhow, this mod looks like it's going to be awesome. I just wish I could find more people in servers!

Trouble overclocking with 3700 San Diego

Oh, no no. I mean 250x10. I followed the guide exactly. In testing, the mobo was good up to 267Mhz. And my vcore is 1.45V. Are there issues with certain HT link multis? I feel like perhaps that is it. Because when I go above 250 FSB, I always bump down the multi to 3x so as not to go...

Trouble overclocking with 3700 San Diego

I'm not overclocking it, that's the thing. The memory divider I put it at runs the RAM at the stock 200MHz. In separate testing, the RAM was good up to 225MHz with the timings I'm using. That's what confuses me. The FSB is at 238Mhz, CPU multiplier of 11x, HT link multiplier 3x. This is...
