256-bit Sapphire Atlantis 9800Pro + Half Life 2 for $225.00. You're really only getting the card for around 170ish. :)

$225.00 for a 256-bit 9800Pro + Half Life 2. Pretty good deal. You're really getting the card for around 175. It's the card I bought...Great price. :)
The original Half Life, Counterstrike, and all...

There's a 9600Pro for 110. Your best bet would be to go with the 9600Pro for your price range. :)
I'll be doing something similar...I currently have a HP Pavilon case which is pretty small...So I'm thinking of sticking a window on one side of it and putting two 80MM fan holes in the window which would bring cool air in. I already have a pretty big fan on the back of it that pulls air in.
I've been wanting to overclock my 9800Pro without buying a VGA silencer or doing anything that would involve modding my card. That's later on for me. I thought I was out of luck until I found this...
He said he was willing to pay 268 bucks for the 256MB 9800Pro, so he might as well pay the extra 30 or so dollars and get the 6800. If he ever does decide to upgrade his processor in the future the card is more likely to be valid whenever that may be...
If you're willing to pay 268 for a 256MB version, you might as well fork out 32 bucks more so you can get the Geforce 6800: http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?Part_Number=128-A8-N343-AX
Keep in mind that this card is near bleeding edge, but it's only 30 bucks more than the 256 9800Pro...
lol You're not stupid, trust me. I recently bought a 9800Pro 128-bit version, which SUCKS. True 9800s are 256-bit. Make sure to check for that when you buy your 9800 and don't make my mistake. :)
The XTs are slower than ultras, but they're not gimped or anything. The 5900XT is a good card...
I don't think FarCry should wreck a 9800 unless you just got a bad card...Which could be the case.
Another thing you might want to do is check your power supply. What's its wattage? Sometimes the wattage is displayed right on the back of your case...Otherwise it's on the actual power supply...

The 9800Pro performs miles better than the FX5900XT in nearly all the tests, and it's about the same price. The only Geforce card that can touch it is the FX5950 Ultra, which generally runs in the 300...
$299 for the 128MB version of the 6800. Great price. Also comes with a free copy of FarCry.
Alex, if you want the 9800Pro, I'd recommend a deal AllStarShop currently has going:

I bought that same...

It's a POS, but it will play most games you throw at it. :)
You can even go for a Geforce MX series if you won't be waiting for too long...I have a G4 64MB MX in my computer right now while I'm waiting for my...

That's for old GF2 cards, but I'd imagine it's still the same concept for the newer cards.
Thanks for the link, very informative. The link says that the card is stable at stock speeds which is all I need. :)
When I decide to overclock in the future I'll probably just order the VGA Silencer that comes on the IceQ 9800s.
I've heard that some games and applications with it improve with it on while others suffer...I've heard so many opinions about it that I'm not really sure what's truly better myself.
I agree with BlackWind. It's my fault I didn't look into what the 128-bit entails.
However, Sapphire shouldn't mark the 128-bit version under the same name of 9800Pro. It simply isn't the same product. If Sapphire had simply renamed the card they would have stopped almost all the confusion...
Look at these pictures:
Here's my card:
Here's a 256MB Pro from NewEgg:
A 9800XT from NewEgg:
The regular 9800Pro from NewEgg:
The general architecture of my card looks very similar if not identical to the 256MB verion and the XT. The regular 9800Pro looks a bit different...
Holy CRAP that is nice! :D
I noticed that you got those pictures on your case from Shadowness.com...That website has to have the best desktops available on the internet...
Yep...Mine probably ran about that. I got about 32,000 with AM3 which I THINK is the average non-clocked score for the 9600XT. It prolly is for the 9700 non-pro also. :)
Now I'm really glad I took that card back...Phew. :D
Sometimes the wattage is displayed right on the back of your case...Take a look.
It really isn't a big deal to open your case. Just don't touch anything. Usually the wattage is displayed right smack on the power supply. You shouldn't have to move or touch anything to be able to see the...
9800Pro has some pretty good deals out now...Plus, most of them are being sold built on the 9800XT PCB, which has a 360core (which is good :) ) I hear you can easily overclock them to the 9800XT specs without much risk.
I recently had to buy a new power supply with a video card also. I heard that some Dells have special power supplies that have a special size, and cannot be replaced by a generic power supply...Is that correct? Maybe that's for really old Dells.
If I were you I'd get at least a 350watt supply...
And here's official product page:

Notice how there's nothing hinting that they have a 128-bit version out. It says 256-bit. That's what threw me off.
VERY misleading if you ask me, 'specially for those of us who aren't too savvy in the...
