TD gave me a UPS tracking number but UPS website is still showing "Billing information received". I hope that it gets shipped/scanned later tonight and is not lying in the TD warehouse overnight :(
Same thing with the P4 1.6A chips. These used to do 2.40Ghz @ default voltages also (50% overclock). I had one that did 2.60GHz at one notch above default...great chips just like the 300A.
I am sure that the E4300 will be almost the same but it is coming out a bit too late
I still remember my 1.60A doing 2.40Ghz at default voltages (50% overclock at default volts).
My 2.53B used to do 3.2GHz-3.30GHz at one notch above default.
The highest clock I got with a 2.8C was 3.7Ghz at slightly above default.
All on the Abit IC7-G motherboard (great mobo at the...

I have had P95 error out at ~9 hours :(
Heres what I do:
Initially, i do 5 min to determine the max OC.
Then, when I have a rough idea, i do 30 min.
After, I have found the approximate settings, i let it run for ~24 hours.
I note down all the settings, restore everything to default...
just received my 2nd 165 (ordered on tuesday evening) and it is again a 0610DPMW. now, i have 2 0610DPMWs with me (my earlier one does ~2.85Ghz @ 1.40v actual)
lets see how this one does...will try this chip later in the weekend.
Thanks..that was why i initially purchased the 22g ceramique tube (much cheaper and easier to clean...i dont do phase change).
Only reason I was wondering about AS5 was b/c mostly everyone is using AS5 and each HSF/CPU post says to get some AS5 with your HSF/CPU. Why dont people just...
wish I had some AS5 :(. I am using Arctic Ceramique which is better than AS3 but a tad "not" better than AS5 (i think 1-2C difference between AS5 and ceramique).
but even ceramique needs couple of days. I will run it at 2.8Ghz for couple of days at 1.36v and then go back to ocing it later..
What is the safe max temp for these 165s under load ? i am already running in high 50s (58-60) when on 1.53v using the Scythe Ninja hsf.
the cpu runs very cool when using 1.36v @ 2.80Ghz (~45 on full load) but ~58-59 at 2.93Ghz @ 1.53v :(
you need a better heatsink. I was using the Zalman 7700 (about the same as xp90) and was getting into high 50s/low 60s on load.
Just got the Scythe ninja and load temp has dropped to 45 for the same speed.
My 0610 does 2.80GHz @ 1.36v actual and is currently running 2.925GHz @ 1.53v...
crap...why didnt this deal come out earlier ?? I ordered it from Directron on Sunday for $48 shipped :(
ah well, from newegg, it would have costed me ~$43 shipped since i am in CA
yes, i did also in the morning earlier today :)
right now, it is doing 2.7 @ stock (1.30v) but Prime errors on 2.8 @ stock. increasing volts a little bit
btw, what is the max safe volts for the dual cores 165 ? I am running the zalman 7700-alcu hsf
drive down to the local fedex and pick it up. You can pick it up after 5pm today (uptil 6 or 7pm, not sure) and then you can also pick it up tomorrow.
btw, i just came back and am going to pop in the chip...so lets see how it does. wish me luck :)
now you are too conservative....i am hoping for breaking the 5.0GHz barrier :P and with this new stepping, i am hoping to do it while the CPU is undervolted to 1.0v ;)
hmm...on 2nd thought....now i am aiming for 10GHz so that I wont have to upgrade for few years :D
bah...same here except i was sitting on an opteron 146. time to upgrade to dual core 165 :) was gonna wait for the AM2 but oh well....(monarch gets my $$$)
If anyone is interested in one of these sticks, let me know
I have one stick available (not using anymore). The stick has the Square BGA Advance Modules ICs (uglies that are preferred) on them and the memory works fine in all the AMD setups (listed below) so far:
DFI nforce4 ultra-d...
yes, it fits fine. As I said earlier, I have the 7700-AlCu version installed in my system. there are no problems.
Will take a picture next time I open my case.
yes, the zalman 7700 fits on the biostar and the Qpack case. I have one and it fits perfectly fine.
also cools the memory and nearby mosfets...really great hsf.
hehe..i have already done that with the Biostar Tforce board.
Note:
I went for the Chenming clone instead of the Aspire QPACK case.
the Chenming has window only on one side. It is great if you want a Qpack with a window but hate the windows on all 3 sides (i hate this version).
If you...
We are all waiting on the overclocking options for the MSI board. Can you go into BIOS and check on these:
Max FSB
Max Vcore Voltage
Max VDimm Voltage (memory voltage)
Any Memory Dividers ?
Any HTT Ratio options ?
Can you adjust timings on the RAM ?
1T, 2T option for RAM ?
am I...
I have a Zalman 7700 on the Biostar Tforce motherboard and it fits fine. It also provides enough airflow to keep all my components cool (esp the northbridge and the memory). Definately recommend it.
My setup:
Chemning (Qpack OEM) Case - same case as Qpack but only 1 window on the side (I...
I will soon have my HP P1130 (rebadged Sony Trinitron) for sale. It was manufacturered in May 2003. If anyone is intersted, let me know. It is in pristine condition (just one minor buff on the top of the plastic).
I ran it at 1600 x 1200 @ 100Hz and it has been wonderful. It also has 2 vga...
if anyone wants my 2nd stick (Advance modules BGA RAM), I have it for sale.
it worked fine in my DFI Ultra-D board when used alone.
Will sell it at actual cost + $1 shipping.
Abit made one of the best Socket A (NF7 v2) and Socket 478 (IC7, IC7-G) boards but they seem to have fallen behind lately.
coupld of years ago (during nforce2 Skt A, Skt 478 days), it was Abit everywhere and they made great boards too. Hopefully, they will come up with decent boards next...
LOL...thanks. I searched everywhere on the biostar website but couldnt find any BIOS for the Tforce6100.....that is a very small icon, why not put the Tforce under the motherboard section ?
that comcast link on page 4 is dead. I called up the Tech support and they emailed me the 10/12 bios...
I just received my Opty 146 "CABYE 0540" from mwave. Just wondering how good is this stepping and week ?
Will test it later tonight to see how good it overclocks.
